Big Bang Shot
A monster equipped with this card increases its ATK by 400 points. When the equipped monster attacks with an ATK that is higher then the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card is destroyed or removed from the field, the equipped monster is removed from play.
The best use for this card would be to equip it to one of your beatdown monsters that you probably wont end up reviving from the grave anyway. The extra 400 boost would give it an edge over almost any other beatdown monsters and could allow you to take down some of the weaker tribute monsters such as Airknight or Vampire Lord. But the small boost and trample effect aren't really worth the slot in your deck when it could be replaced by something better. I
don't really like equip cards that much, but if you had to go with one, I'd probably go with UWS over this.
On another note, it could be used on the opponent's monster and then destroyed so that you remove an opponent's monster from play, but wouldn't it have been easier to use Dark Core instead?
I'd give this 2.7/5. Not really worth playing at all, no matter what kind of deck you use. |

A very mediocre card
in my opinion. I say this from experience, not
just a simple glance at the card.
All this card does
is give your opponent more options to destroy
one of your Monsters. And chances are, it will
be a strong Monster, seeing how most people
wouldn't want to waste the ability to give Trample to
something with low ATK.
Sadly enough, it
still is one of the better Equipment Spell cards
out there. It means very little though.
When it comes to
Limited, everything changes. The chances of your
opponent pulling a good Spell/Trap removal card is
very slim, so you won't have to worry about the
disadvantage. Trample is a very strong ability to
obtain in Limited, for the same reasons as
Yesterday's CotD, Airknight Parshath. Bing Bang Shot
is definitely a game winner here.

Fairy Meteor Crush has probably seen it's last days now that Big Bang Shot is out. Trample = Good. +400 ATK = Good. Equip = Bad. Monster Removed from Play = Bad, but not that bad. What can I say? +400 ATK with Trample makes most monsters with a half-decent ATK into unstoppable killing machines that are hard to not only kill but defend against.
Having your monster removed from the game when this card leaves the field isn't that big a deal. With all the s/t removal around, this will make your monster a sitting duck if you can't protect it but if you manage a hit or two with it, you're way ahead anyways. Being an equip sucks because equips are bad for card advantage.
Better than Fairy Meteor Crush (and only a Rare to boot!) but this still won't see much play.

Big Bang Shot.. One of, if not the best Equipment card in the game, in my opinion. Why, you ask? Well, because I myself really like Monsters with Trample
abilities, and Big Bang Shot's quite better than Meteor Strike (Fairy Meteor Crush), as it also gives the equipped Monster a 400-point ATK boost, and it's a really fun card to use. May not seem like so much at first, but even most weaker Monsters, in terms of ATK strength, that you see in Decks, such as something like a Don Zaloog, can benefit from Big Bang Shot. A Zaloog's ATK would be raised to 1800, therefore being a bit more destructive, and it'll make it a lot easier to pull off its Effect more often, as any Monster with a Trample ability has advantages over those that do not. With some Monsters that Big Bang Shot is equipped to, the 400-point boost is more than enough. Trample can be pretty devastating.
The only downside to BBS is if it gets removed from the Field or is destroyed while equipped to a Monster, that Monster will be removed from the game.. But note, the Monster would not be removed from the game if the Monster is what is destroyed, and BBS isn't. If that's the case, the Monster, along with BBS, will both be sent to the Graveyard. But yeah, BBS is pretty easily destroyed by a number of things, so it'd be good to have some protection and/or be careful when using Big Bang Shot. But a majority of the time you will like what Big Bang Shot can do for you, and it can work especially well in Beatdown Decks for some extra heavy damage.
Big Bang Shot can also be a pretty great side deck card, and it's another card that, when equipped to a Monster, can work well with cards like Book of Moon, which is also a really great side deck card.

Today's COTD is an equip spell card from Magician's Force. If anyone is playing Fairy Meteor Crush with this out, then it must be just because of the holofoil. -_-

Most people will probably overlook this card just because of the risk of losing your own monster. I don't see why. A 400 attack boost and trample is NOT bad at all. In fact, it's very
devastating with the right cards. Equiping this to a lily for example, will put your opponent in a world of hurt, especially if they run spear dragons, goblin attack forces, or orcs. Then there's Dark Magician of Dark Paladin with Diffusion Wave-Motion. Massive damage there as well.
Most people will STILL continue to see the bad in this card. However, this "bad" can turn out to be a good thing. Remember that seemingly pointless super rare from Magic Ruler, which was turned into a Joey Starter common? Giant Trunade?
Equip your opponent's face-up monster(s) with your Big Bang Shot(s), then play Giant Trunade to return those Big Bang Shots to your hand. What happens? All the monsters you equipped the Shot to just got nuked. With only one Big Bang Shot and Trunade, it becomes a situational Dark Core with the option of giving your monsters trample. With multiple Big Bang Shots, it becomes field clearing that you can fear. You can also equip it to your opponent's monster as a way to protect your own spells and traps. If they have a heavy storm or feather duster, they'll be hesitant on using it. Who would want to have their monster removed?
Constructed: 3/5
It really has some fun combos to work with in constructed. A few good possibilities.
Limited: 4/5
It's a 400 attack increase, it's trample, and there's hardly ANY s/t removal in drafts or sealed decks. Use this if you draft it.

Down Sides:

How many people play FMC anymore
Only 400 extra attack
In Casual, this card is very interesting to say the least. This card can make even some of the most overlooked cards respectable. Giant Orc becomes a 2600 ATK Trampler. In a word....OUCH!!!
In Tourney, I actually tried this for fun and it tested very well. It gave my Tomatoes so much power. They could suicide with annoying Kycoos and get their effects. I had fun with this card in my deck, but it didn’t give me much of a boost, so I dropped it.
In Sealed, I would say the choice to play it is all up to you. You really would have to worry about M/T removal due to the fact that Despell and 1 MST are all your opponent has to stop this. Like I said before, though, the choice is all up to you. I would, personally.
Overall, it gets a 5.4/10

Pros:
+400 ATK boost
+Trample
Cons:
-spell removal
-removes monster from the GAME = no recursion
Combos:
*Not really combo-able, being an equipment magic, but I think this card thrives on Masked Sorcerers and Fusion monsters that have been S.Summoned by the Scientist, being removed here is no biggie. And the sorcerers becomes 1300’s with Airknight’s effect for a 4 star, not bad.
Now, I’ve tried this card out in a few decks, and I’ve received mixed results. First, I thought this would be a playable equip for scientist, making the 2100 fusions rather 2500 fusions, and running 3 of each copy would mean that it doesn’t matter the monster is removed from the game rather than being sent back to the fusion deck. I liked the idea, especially when it meant dealing around 1800 damage, but I still think equips are, well, weak.
My best results came in a deck with 3 Masked Sorcerer and 3 Airknight Parshath, along with the 3 Big Bang Shots and 3 Book of Moon. You may think that’s a lot of cards dedicated to a small combo, but the end result was basically a ton of monster removal combined with a huge card drawing engine. I think this combo was fine.
However, overall I believe equips waste space in the deck, as it’s all about field/hand control, not about doing a little extra damage, that wins games. And with heavy storm, harpie’s feather duster, and 3 MSTs planted in most decks, it means that if you run these many of your monsters will be removed from the game. Kind of useless if you plan on using that monster reborn, premature burial, or call of the haunted you have.
Now, in limited there is far less removal, and it is more about beatdown, so this equip fits right in, perhaps a second or third pick from the pack.

Hmm, so this gives any monster the ability to have a spear dragon effect. When you first look at this card it seems decent, but the cons of the card overshadow the small pro of adding 400 damage, and doing trample damage. As you all know M/T removal is huge. Usually it consists of 3 MST, and a Harpy Feather Duster. And when this card is removed from play and or destroyed. The monster this card is equipped to is also removed from play. You could however play this card on your oppenent's monster and than MST or HFD that mon to oblivion, but lets be honest, do you really want to waste a mst or especially a HFD on removing one monster? Thats what Fissure and NOC are for. I don't think we need 2 cards to act as mon. removal. It could be good in situations, but usually, its going to suck.
Tourney Play: 2/5 It could work, but I wouldn't advise using it.
Casual Play: 3/5 Not much better here, I guess if you wanted to make a trample deck it could be useful, or like a monster removal deck, but eh.
Limited play: 3.5/5 Since there will most likely be a lack of MST here and a definite lack of HFD. This card is a little above average here. Still not great, but eh +400 and trample isn't bad. Especially if your beefing up a 1700 or 1800 attacker. Or even better a tribute monster you got out.
