Bazoo The Soul-Eater
Probably my most favorite card in the whole set. If
you didn't know, the English version was "upgraded".
The Japanese Bazoo was horrible as you could only
remove Monster cards and the effect lasted until the
end of YOUR turn. Right now, Bazoo is probably the
BEST non-Tribute attacker out there. I mean, a
Summoned Skull with no Tribute? It kills Jinzo with no
other cards (kinda). If your opponent uses Change of
Heart or Snatch Steal on it though, it could backfire
on you as he now can make it a 3400ATK Monster...
If Bazoo keeps the text and no errata is made on it,
expect to see lots of Baboons in your Tournaments...

Viva La Baboons!
Rating: 4.4/5 (Note: That's higher than what I gave
Gemini...) |

Bazoo the Soul-Eater --
Wednesday
Introduction: "BaZoOolicous!"
Earth
Level 4
[Beast]
1600/900
You can remove up to 3 cards in your Graveyard from
play to increase the ATK
of this monster by 300 points
for each card removed from play until the end of your
opponent's next turn.
This effect can only be used only
once during your turn.

Anaylsis: Today we look at one of the cards i
anticapted should be
bazoolicous :). We are looking at Bazoo the
Soul-Eater. This monster, if played right, can get
incredibly huge. It can
become the size of a Summon Skull.
This huge monster can reek total mayhem as the one hit
finisher. The effect
keeps it solid, however, 1600 may
not be solid, but if played right, you can keep it
alive for pretty long
time. However, the price of removing cards
is to get a big monster. You may find yourself not
having monsters to
remove, which puts this monster at very
low status. Also, the effect of 1 turn only makes it a
hard choice, and must
be used wisely.
Rating: Fun card to play. Could be a deadly hitter if
played. However, this
card is not going to be easy to play.
So be cauctious, this card is not for everyone. It is
a skill card. This
gets a 3.5. It would get a 4.0, only if this
card is used properly.
Concludsion: Skill card!

Wednesday - Bazoo the Soul
Eater
Upperdeck sure screwed with this card. You can remove
up to 3 cards from your grave during your turn. This
monster gains 300 ATK for each cards you remove. This
lasts until the end of the opponent's turn.
First of all, I just want to compare this with the
Japanese version. In the JPN version, you could only
remove monsters from the grave, not any card. And the
ATK boost only lasted until the end of YOUR turn, not
the opponent's turn. You can see a huge difference
between the two versions. In the English version, it
is a lot easier to power up this monkey as you can
remove magic and trap cards too. But since the ATK
boost lasts longer, it will be harder for the opponent
to take it down by force. Basically, what you get out
of this card, assuming that you have enough cards to
keep it boosted, is a Summoned Skull with no tribute
required.
I give this a 4.2/5. If UD makes the corrections to
change it to the Japanese version, I'd give it 3.5/5. |

Wednesday - Bazoo the
Soul-Eater
No clever opening
today. Just a review.
Wow, what was Konami
smoking when they translated this guy? This is
similar to Wizards of the Coast changing Neo Genesis
Slowking, changing a somewhat-mediocre card to
something to be feared. This is one of those
situations. In the original Japanese version, you
could only remove monsters and the effect lasted
only until the end of your turn. The English
version says that you can remove ANY cards you want
from the graveyard from the game, and the effect
lasts until the end of your OPPONENT'S next turn.
See what I mean? For one full set of turns, you can
have a Summoned Skull for no tributes. Ouchies.
This guy's main purpose
will be to destroy Jinzo, one of the biggest threats
in the game. Remove three useless cards from your
Graveyard, POW! Jinzo is out cold. This guy makes
an EXCELLENT late-game hitter, as you're bound to
have a heavily-populated graveyard, plenty enough
fuel to pump this guy up to 2500 almost every turn.
As you read these
reviews, watch as Bazoo's price on Ebay doubles or
triples -_-;;;

3.7

Wednesday - Bazoo the

BAZOO THE SOUL EATER
Type: Effect monster
Earth/Beast/4/1600/900
Effect: You can remove up to 3 cards in your Graveyard
from play to increase the ATK of this monster by 300
points for each card removed from play until the end
of your opponent's next turn. This effect can only be
used only once during your turn.
Super Rare
Before LON was
released, this was an overlooked card. In Japan, you
had to remove Monster cards in your graveyard in order
to use his Effect. Us lucky American players get an
Effect thats 5x as good. Being able to convert those
useless cards in your Graveyard into damage is just
outstanding. Remove one card and you match a Gemini
Elf, remove two cards and you can run over Gemini
Elf/Dark Elf, remove three cards.... 2500 ATK without
paying any Tributes or wasting Equipment Magic sounds
nice to me.
On top of all that, the
effect ALSO works on your opponent's turn. Amizing.
Though, he isn't 100%
efficient. During the first few turns, he's not
usually up to his potential. But that's fine
considering how powerful he is in the mid to late
game.
The only actual
drawback that Bazoo's effect has, is that he can't
use the effect if your opponent has Kycoo on the field
(And Kycoo can remove cards from tha game).
About Soul Release
(And others like it), it doesn't really count as a
drawback. If people are wasting slots in their deck
for cards like that, their card advantage will be down
the drain.
Bazoo the Soul-Eater is
definately an excellent addition to anyones Beatdown
deck. Three may be much, but two sounds just about
right.
Rating: 4.4/5
We'll see if UpperDeck
decides to keep the new translation... |

Super Rare
I don't like any of you,
Yes dad, this includes you too.
When you want your deck fixed, don't instant message
me,
IM sick of you people bothering me, even when I'm
trying to pee. (JUST KIDDING!)
Uh-oh! It's Mr. Attitude problem in the hizouse.
What pushed him to being such a louse?
Martin Moreno isn't really mad,
In reality he is pretty glad,
Because today were reviewing a cute lad,
named Bazoo who removes cards from the game,
When the effect is used, the attack power won't be the
same.
It will be higher up to 2500 attack,
Which will definitely let you hack,
Into your opponent's lifepoints till they say ACK,
Don't attack me anymore!
Then you can say, SHUTUP and don't be sore.
Removing your own cards from the graveyard will really
lower your own options of using cards like call of the
haunted and monster reborn. Also, this card will be
pretty bad in the first few crucial turns of the game
where there won't be many cards for you to remove.
Late game, this card REALLY shines, since you will
definitely have at least 3 cards in the grave you know
wouldn't normally come back to you. It actually gives
them a use. =)
So what do I rate this? 3.5. It's above average, but
at the same time not spectacular.
