Tuesday - Mass Driver
Offer 1 monster on
your side of the field as a Tribute to inflict 400
points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life
Points.
Continuous Spell
Card Number MFC-088
Common
Mass Driver is
basically another version of Cannon Soldier. But
just like Cannon Soldier, it will be used more
often to pull off combos rather than aggressive
Direct Damage.
The potential 400 per
Monster may be a decent finisher in the late game,
but it's not worth tossing all of your Monsters in
the early game for a couple thousand points of
Direct Damage.
Personally, I believe
Cannon Soldier still reigns.
Mass Driver receives a
much better rating in Limited, especially Draft.
Having a Mass Driver on the Field during a Draft
game could easily give an enormous advantage. Keep
in Mind that Life Points are set at 4000 in Draft.
Rating:
Constructed - 2.4/5
Limited - 3.8/5

Mass Driver:
MFC-088-Common
Continuous Spell: Offer 1 monster on your side of the field as a Tribute to
inflict 400 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points.
Pros:
400 Direct Damage per Monster
Common
Cons:
Continuous = MST Prey
Mask Of Restrict - Not like it's played much but it completely shuts Driver down.
400 isn't all that much, Cannon Soldier is 100 higher.
Combos:
Dark Room Of Nightmare - add 300 extra damage.
Change Of Heart, Snatch Steal, Creature Swap and Soul Exchange = Monster Removal + Ammo.
Last Will or any other type of recursion = Ammo
Notes:
Driving the Masses... If you've ever tried out a Cannon Soldier Deck theme with tons of ammo and tricks you've basically got the idea behind this card.
Though Cannon Soldier does 500 per Monster and Mass Driver is only 400 you can still get a bit of use from it if you build up to it. You can pull many of the same combos with Mass Driver that Cannon Soldier was good for, like if you can pull 2x Last Wills and a Mass Driver in the first hand you can pull out a variety of Monsters depending on what's in your deck.
If this card did maybe 100 more damage it might have been a Rare, but 400 really isn't enough to make this card all that usable, at least not for tournament play. You could build a deck all around tributing Monsters for a nice Burn, but by itself or just randomly thrown into a Deck it really won't work too well. I have yet to try this card out or see it used by anyone, but I don't think it matters, if you like it and can get some good use out of it, go for it.
Ratings:
Casual: 2.5
Tourney: 1.5
ArtWork: 2.0 - It's a very sleek looking piece of equipment they have there. It is a lot cleaner looking than Mega Ton Magical Cannon and instead of relying on magic It's basically a sacrificial cannon but lacks the power it really needs, or it's just sacrificing Monsters to some poor gods and all they can offer is 400 damage to their worshipers enemies... anyways. |

Mass Driver
Continuous Spell
Offer 1 monster on your side of the field as a Tribute to inflict 400 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points.
Card Number MFC-088
Common
Mass Driver's a pretty interesting card that can prove to be pretty effective in quite a few situations. Offering one of your Monsters to do 400 damage may not seem like a lot at first, but this card can actually easily end up aiding you in victory, such as a Cannon Soldier could.
It can obviously be great in combo with Scapegoat for a quick 1600 damage. It of course also works well with any Sinister Serpent, Witch or Sangan you might have on the Field, for a quick 400+ damage and a search / self-recursion. There are a couple other
Monsters would mention to use with it, but they won't be released in English for a while yet, so.. Yeah.
It's a Continuous Spell, so it will be pretty hard to keep it on the Field for as long as you might like to, but its Effect could really prove to be quite useful in various situations. That little bit of extra damage could end up being more useful than you might first think it would. It's a really fun card to use, as well.

Mass Driver
Offer 1 monster on your side of the field as a Tribute to inflict 400 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points.
Continuous Spell
Card Number MFC-088
Common
Upsides:
Deals direct damage
Can be used multiple times
Down Sides:
Easily destroyed
Only 400 damage
Causes you to lose field advantage
Combos:
Last Will- Offer a monster and get another for launch
Witch & Sangan- Launch them to search your deck for a good creature
Dark Room of Nightmare- Add extra damage
In Casual, this card can be quite entertaining to try out. I played one in my Huge revolution deck and it help get those people out
quick (I mean real quick). I think it’s great for fun.
In Tourney, this card isn’t seeing much play because it can be easily removed from the field and the fact that it doesn’t deal a lot of damage. I would most likely see it in a Fire Princess deck or a Scientist
deck (for last will purposes).
In Sealed, this card can be very strong if you play your cards right. I think that being able to tack on 400 extra damage on to what you are already doing can be quite nice every now and then.
Overall, I give it a 2.8 / 5
Casual Rating: 3.1

Hey, it’s cannon soldier’s little magic (spell) brother.
Hmm, the mass driver, also have this in my 303 junk pile. Lets see, it’s a
continuous little cannon soldier with 100 points less damage per
monster.
I think that this is an ok card, possibly better than cannon soldier. The
first combo I can think of is the scapegoat launch. With cannon soldier,
you have to wait one turn since you can’t summon cannon soldier and
scapegoat on the same turn. But with this, you can deal a quick 1600.
Now, on the flipside, mass driver takes up one M/T slot. And that combo is
a two card combo. Why not just put in two Poison of the Old man? (to be
reviewed later this week) They both do the same thing, and Poison of the
old man has two options!
My advice is to stay away from this card. It’s a wasted space in your
deck.
Mass Driver- 1.5/10
