Wednesday:
Tribe-Infecting Virus/Exclusivity Virus:
MFC-076-Super Rare
Water/Aqua/4/1600/1000
Effect: Discard 1 card from your hand and declare 1 type of monster to destroy all face-up monsters of the declared Type on both sides of the field.
Pros:
Can destroy multiple Monsters at once
Can be used as long as you hold cards
The Effect can't be negated, at least not yet
Searchable by WotBF
Cons:
Only works on Face-Up Monsters
Discarding isn't good for hand management; i.e. Yata
Combos:
Sinister Serpent - Well it's not a combo but it helps quite a bit
DNA Surgery - Destroy ALL Face-Up Monsters, but it's suicide too
Notes:
This was one of the most anticipated cards of Magicians Force, and for very good reason. This card will shortly if not yet restricted to 1-Per-Deck since its Effect can annihilate almost any Monster on the Field. With him being Aqua you won't often have to suicide him to destroy an opponents Aqua type Monster or Monsters, but in a couple of releases there will be some very nice Aqua arriving but until then there isn't much
The only real downsides to T-Virus is its semi-weak 1600 ATK and 1000 DEF, and
discarding cards has become more risky with Yata-Locks, and Hand Disruption will limit T-Viruses usage indeed.
Though if you either use Light Of Intervention to give your opponent no hiding space from T-Virus, or you could team him up with Sasuke Samurai and something to stall with. Sinister Serpent obviously is the biggest Monster being used with T-Virus but running a few Marie The Fallen Ones can help out a bit but normally take up too much deck space.

ArtWork: 3.5 - Very gruesome, looks like some cats or something are being infected and dying. I'm surprised they didn't "edit" the picture like they did Fiend Comedian. |

Wednesday - Tribe
Infecting Virus
Destroying
monsters
Of one type for
one discard
Is very very very
good
Today's card is one of
the most powerful monsters in Magician's Force,
and in the game, for that matter.
MFC-076
Tribe-Infecting
Virus
Water/Aqua/4/1600/1000
Discard 1 card
from your hand and declare 1 type of monster to
destroy all face-up monsters of the declared Type
on both sides of the field.
Super Rare
(Originally a common
in the Japanese Champion of Black Magicians set
(303))
Anyone that has had
any experience with the Japanese game will know
that this is one of the most popular monsters in
the game, and with good reason. At the very,
very least, you are discarding 1 card to destroy 1
monster. While not exceptional, it is put
into focus that you can use the effect multiple
times (as long as you have cards in your hand),
and it is possible to destroy all of your
opponent's monsters with just one discard, which
is very nice.
Now, of course, any
card that has a discard cost has the usual combos
with Sinister Serpent, high level monsters +
recursion, etc., and this one is no exception.
Also, for a monster with such an effect, it has
very good stats. The DEF allows you to bring
it out with Witch (a good choice, IMO), and 1600
ATK is excellent for a monster with a
monster-destruction effect.
If you are running a
theme deck that involves a near-mono monster type
(Spellcaster, Fiend, and Warrior deck users, pay
attention), this is probably the most dangerous
card that you can go up against. With one
simple discard, your entire monster force can be
gone, leading to a good direct whack from your
opponent.
This card will be
restricted to 1 when Magician's Force restrictions
come out (December, maybe?). For now, you
can try running 2-3 of these, and you will soon
understand why this needs to be restricted.
Have fun.
Casual: 4.5
Since a good number of
mono-type decks are used in casual play, this can
really cause problems.
Tourney: 4.5
Reuseable monster
removal is always nice. This makes a nice
substitute to the now-corrected Skull Lair
(although there's really no comparison, TIV
is much better). Just be careful of your
hand count, because of the numerous control decks
around.
Draft: 10^9999999
Don't ask questions.
Just draft it. You heard me. JUST
DRAFT IT.

Tribe-Infecting Virus
Tribe-Infecting

Water/Aqua/4/1600/1000
Effect: Discard 1 card from your hand and declare

of the declared Type on both sides of the field.
More removal en masse.
Nice.
For the Effect that
Tribe-Infecting Virus is packing, the ATK and DEF
are more than enough. It can Attack many of
the Staple Monsters, and even Don Zaloog when need
be.
But as we all know,
it's the Effect that makes it shine. Not only is
it another answer to Jinzo, it can deal with decks
such as Warrior Beatdown with ease. Expect
it to be restricted to one, just like in Japan.
Tribe-Infecting Virus
along with Breaker the Magical Warrior will
definitely be the chase cards of Magician's Force.
In short, efficient
removal is good. Remember to abuse this card with
Sinister Serpent.

Tribe-Infecting Virus
4/1600/1000
Water/Aqua
MFC-076
Discard 1 card from your hand and declare 1 type monster to destroy all face up monsters of the declared Type on both sides of the field.
Tribe-Infecting Virus is the best card in Magician's Force.
The ability to selectively destroy multiple monsters on the field is an amazing effect. This is especially deadly against theme decks. The fact that this is an Aqua-Type means you probably won't name "Aqua" as the sub-type you want to destroy very often. 1600 ATK isn't too bad. It can't go toe to toe with many monsters used these days but then again, you can use the effect to destroy them first.
Discarding for Tribe-Infecting Virus' effect is only bad if you don't have Sinister Serpent or something you want to discard like a high-level monster. The possibility that you could destroy your own monsters isn't that bad if you're careful about how you use the effect. Since this will probably replace Exiled Force in many decks, the fact that this only destroys face-up monsters is a fairly big drawback but there's always Raigeki and Dark Hole for that.
Tribe-Infecting Virus is an excellent card and fits in pretty much any deck. One of the best things about this is that it's also only a Super Rare which makes it relatively easy to find.

Water/Aqua/4/1600/1000
Effect: Discard 1 card from your hand and declare 1 type of monster to destroy all face-up monsters of the declared Type on both sides of the field.
Tribe-Infecting Virus is certainly a great Monster card from the MFC set. It will be limited to one. Discard a card and name a Type of Monster, and all Monsters on the Field of that Type are destroyed.. Well, first of all, the "Type" that it mentions are the Types like Fiend, Aqua, Beast, etc., not Dark, Light, etc. Since Tribe-Infecting Virus is an Aqua Type, it's pretty unlikely that you will have to destroy your own T-I Virus to destroy an opponent's Monster(s). And yes, its Effect would destroy your own Monsters as well, as its Effect states.
That's hardly a downside for such a devastating Effect. It's like a Monster form of Raigeki at the simple cost of a discard.. So obviously, it works great with Sinister Serpent. Its Effect may also be used multiple times per turn, as long as you have the cards in hand to use it repeatedly. No matter what (face-up) Monster it is that your opponent has out on the Field, you could bring out T-I Virus to take care of it, and afterwards, you'd still have a pretty strong 1600 ATK Monster out on the Field for perhaps some direct damage. It also has some speed in that it can be searched out by the Witch of the Black Forest.
T-I Virus is one of the best cards in the MFC set.. The best in some people's opinions.

Awesome. My first COTD review is going to be one of the best cards in the new Magician's Force expansion. Monster removal is always a good thing, especially when it either turn the game around, or if you can use it multiple times. T-Virus fills both categories, as his effect is not only devastating to theme decks such as warriors or the up and coming spellcasters, but it can also be used more than once per turn in case your opponent controls a variety of monsters.
Some will probably think that this card is rather weak since its attack is average and that this card can kill your hand. While both disadvantages can be a bit painful, it's really not that big of a loss.
Its attack might not survive a beatstick's attack such as goblins or gemini, but it can at least be a wall against zaloog, spirit reaper, witch, etc. Managing your hand with this card isn't hard either. Besides the obvious combo with Sinister Serpent, you also have thunder dragon for a 3-shot virus, or Marie to increase the power in a fire princess deck. Of course, if you have no hand with virus, it's not going to help you, but most of the time you'll have at least 1 card in your hand. That's all you really need.
Virus is definitely a solid card, and I can see why it was restricted in Japan.
Constructed: 4/5
In a limited (sealed deck, draft, etc.) game, this card is even better. Removal is always a gem when you don't know what your opponent has.
