NEWDORIA
Dark/Fiend/4/1200/800
When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, select 1 monster on the field and destroy it.
Rare
Dark Jeroid's brother, if you will. Marik uses it as well as Jeroid.
Compared to Jeroid, I would have to say Jeroid is more versatile, but this guy has more power. Newdoria basically says "attack and kill me please", and when he dies, he takes someone with him. Take your pick of whatever monster you want to destroy. Face-up, face-down, it doesn't matter. As with Jeroid, it's Tomatoable, and being Tomatoable is pretty big these days, as Tomato is easily one of the hottest monsters in the game. There's not really much more to say about this guy, he speaks for himself =/
Standard: 3.0
It goes slightly lower on the scale because he has to be destroyed by battle (it's more common these days to be destroyed by effect), but he can definitely make your opponent think twice about attacking your face-down monster. If you want to, think of it as an upgraded Man-Eater Bug...=/
Draft: 4.0
Monster removal is most definitely rare in Draft. I would make this a relatively early pick. |

Newdoria/Nyudoryua
PGD-057-Rare
Dark/Fiend/4/1200/800
Effect: When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, select 1 monster on the field and destroy it.
Pros:
Searchable by Sangan, WotBF, Mystic Tomato and Last Will.
Effect destroys any Monster regardless of position.
Cons:
Low stats.
Has to be a result of Battle.
Has to actually land in the Graveyard - BOTL, Lesser Fiend, NOC.
Combos:
Patrician Of Darkness - Make them attack Newdoria instead of another Monster.
Notes:
Monsters with suicide wishes and homicidal tendencies, comming up next on Pojo.com. On the last episode Kryuel attempted to revenge his death but had a bad flip and Yomi Ship sailed into a Black Hole. Today Newdoria ran himself into a nearby Jinzo which caused Newdoria to drop dead and his controller to take 1200 Damage, but the once sturdy Jinzo also past away due to Newdorias late departure and both monster were then seen being sent to the local Graveyard.
Well, this is currently the bestkamikazei Monster out at the moment, but it also doesn't have to be suicidal to be effective. Sure the opponent won't want to attack him unless he's Face-Down and is still unknown but with any simple Monster Removal Spell (NOC, Raigeki, Etc), Trap (Raigeki Break, ROD, Mirror Force, Etc) or Monster Effect (Dream Clown, Man-Eater Bug, Etc) Newdoria won't be pulling a Michizure on anyone.
As I stated last Friday for Shining Angels Review, a new Monster named something around Twilight Zone Beast will be coming out that removes the Monsters it destroys from the game instead of them being "Sent to the Graveyard", so Newdoria and cards with the same "Sent to the Graveyard" requirement will have a new enemy to deal with soon. For right now besides Banisher Of The Light and Lesser Fiend being able to negate his effect the Ha-Des Effect will also negate Newdorias Effect, and Sasuke Samurai will negate the Effect if Newdoria was Face-Down when attacked.
Newdoria was also a Super Rare in Japan and was downgraded to a Normal Rare for the English release, but rarity and playability can sometimes be logical and sometimes be ridiculous (stops and remembers when Serpent Knight Dragon came out). He does work very well in Stall and Fiend Decks, but Exiled Force and Tribe-Infecting Virus will fit in almost any Deck so Newdoria may not see the play it wants anytime soon.

Newdoria
4/1200/800
Dark/Fiend
PGD-057
When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, select a monster on the field and destroy it.
Here's the new and improved Man-Eater Bug.
Newdoria is so much superior to Man-Eater Bug. First off, it's not a flip effect so its effect is more reliable. Second, the effect triggers by being destroyed in battle so it increases the number of situations that it can be used. Anyways, on to how to best use Newdoria. Got a Jinzo in the way?
Summon Newdoria and attack it. Yes, you lose 1200 LP but it's usually worth it to get rid of a Jinzo. The same goes for Injection Fairy Lily. You can even use it to get rid of your opponent's Mystic Tomato (or similar monster) to keep him or her from summoning something else. The nice part of this is that Mystic Tomato (along with Witch and Sangan) can bring this out so if you get into a Tomato vs. Tomato war, summoning Newdoria will stop your opponent dead in his or her tracks. There's also nothing more fun than suiciding your Newdoria into your opponent's 1200 ATK monster then using the effect to kill another monster. 2 for 1 is always good. Too bad there aren't that many 1200 ATK monsters around. Marauding Captain, Pyramid Turtle, Dark Jeroid, Newdoria (this would be fun to do) would be some prime candidates. Of course, you can always play Newdoria face-down, in which case, it's just like a Man-Eater Bug. As always, being a Fiend, Dark Necrofear finds Newdoria to be very tasty.
1200 ATK makes him a weakling and the 4 stars doesn't help either. All he can do is kill monsters like Witch and Sangan and doesn't even get under Gravity Bind. Any monster removal will also spoil Newdoria's effect.
Newdoria is a nice monster for that extra bit of monster removal but with Tribe-Infecting Virus coming in Magician's Force, I can't really see it being used in many decks other than Fiend decks and the occasional deck that uses Mystic Tomatoes.

NEWDORIA
Dark/Fiend/4/1200/800
When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, select 1 monster on the field and destroy it.
Rare
Newdoria's another interesting Monster card from PGD. Like Dark Jeroid, it can be searched out by the Witch, Sangan, and the Tomato. Also like Jeroid, this Monster's ATK strength isn't too great. But with this Monster, that's not exactly a bad thing. Why? Well, just look at its Effect. When it's destroyed in Battle, you get to destroy 1 Monster on the Field. Don't like the Monster your opponent destroyed your Newdoria with? Ok, choose to get rid of that one. You could choose to get rid of any other Monster, too. It doesn't have to be the exact one that destroyed your Newdoria.
With just 1200 ATK and 800 DEF, this Monster will get to use its Effect quite more often than some may think. The Effect isn't exactly great, but it's one less Monster of your opponent's that you'll have to worry about. Although there's a lot of other Monster destruction out there, there's still a pretty good chance your Newdoria could be destroyed in Battle. It's usually best to play this Monster face down, or just Summon it and slam it into an opponent's more powerful Monster just to get rid of it, if you have no other choice. It's also a Monster that, if you have it face up on the Field, your opponent may think twice about attacking, if they really don't want one of their more powerful Monsters being destroyed by Newdoria's Effect.
This Monster can be useful in Dark-based or Fiend-based decks, but not much else. I'd suggest playing Dark Jeroid over this Monster, but this Monster's certainly a pretty fun Monster to try out and surprise your opponent with. Newdoria's not a bad Monster, but it's not exactly great either.

Rare
Newdoria is a great card in my opinion. It is the new and improved Man-eater bug. The best thing to do is lay it face down and simply let your opponent attack it and lose a monster on their side of the field.
Of course you can destroy one of your OWN monsters, but that would be downright silly.
Newdoria also is a great comeback card when you are on
Long Odds. There really is a lot you can do with this, try it out.
