Royal Tribute
Magic Card
This card can only be activated when your
“Necrovalley” is active on the field. Both players
must discard all monster cards in their hand to the
Graveyard.
This card is more of a specialty card for gravekeeper
decks that would like some hand disruption in the deck
as well. This card is absolutely lethal when played
first turn as I've been able to get rid of 3-4 cards,
while losing minimal monsters myself. With absolutely
no monsters to play, the opponent will be in a real
tough spot since they wont be able to revive their
discarded monsters either to Necrovalley. This is what
I really love about Gravekeeper decks - how all the
cards in the deck help to supplement each other,
working together seamlessly to achieve victory.
But anyway, back to Royal Tribute. This card is also
great against Yata Garasu. You might want to save this
card until you know the opponent has yata so that you
can ill it for good. In most cases, you'll want to use
your 1 summon per turn before playing this so that you
lose as few monsters as possible. This card also
combos great with Rite of Spirit.
In a Gravekeeper deck, I'd five this 3.3/5. It's not
absolutely necessary, and I certainly wouldn't use
more than 2. But when played at the right time, this
can be the final blow to finishing your opponent. |

Ahhhh another card that goes into Necrovalley decks.
It almost makes me want to get one...anyway.
Sadly this card can only be activated when Necrovalley
is on the field. Obviously, if you can't keep
Necrovalley on the field or can't find it, the use of
this card is limited.
When you finally use it, both you and your opponent
have to discard all monsters from their hands. Now, at
first this might seem not-so-useful, but it can be.
If your opponent has no monster cards on the field,
you can run rampant on them until they finally draw
one, which may be awhile. This can start an unbeatable
offense if used at the right time.
If you use it when no one has any cards on the field,
then you pretty much have to race to see who can get
the first monster card. I've seen this done a few
times, don't reccomend it though..
And lastly, you can hit Exodia pieces and other good
monster cards (especially if you know they have 'em).
Killing that Jinzo before they can tribute for it
helps. Really, the use of this card at the exact right
time is the best way to do it.

Royal Tribute/Imperial Sacrifice:
PGD-091-Common
Magic Card: Normal
Effect: This card can only be activated when your "Necrovalley" is active on the field. Both players must discard all monster cards in their hand to the Graveyard.
This is a tricky card, it can either be used in Gravekeeper/Necrovalley Deck or it can be side-decked to use against them I guess. The best way I can think of using it would be either if you have no monsters in your hand and you know the opponent does or might like after you kill their Sangan & WotBF, or when they play something like The Warrior Returning Alive, Return Of The Doomed, Painful Choice (and pick a monster), The Forgiving Maiden, Yata or any other Spirit Monsters. Or you can fill their hand up with monster by using cards like GK-Guard, Crass Clown, Penguin Soldier, Hiro's Shadow Scout, Hane-Hane, Ordeal Of A Traveler and even Dark Designator would work but probably isn't really worth the trouble since they may not have the chosen card in their deck.
You can even use Royal Tribute to get your Marie The Fallen Ones (if you use them) into the Graveyard quicker, but you might also get the opponents Maries into their Graveyard just as quick. I know hand disruption is going strong at the moment, but within a couple releases there will be some cards that can make hand disruption risky to play (i.e. Fear & Despair From The Darkness). So while this card may wipe out the opponents only chance of offense and defense, at least till they draw something, it is a slightly risky card to use since you may have important monsters in your hand when you draw Royal Tribute, or the opponent might not have any monster cards in their hand when you use it. Sure you can use cards to look at the opponents hand to make sure they have something worth making them discard, like playing Confiscation to take out a Magic or Trap card and get a good look, then play Royal Tribute to piss them off even more.
I like the idea of this card, and I do currently use Crass Clown and Penguin Soldier in my Deck, but I don't use Necrovalley and only 2 or 3 people in my area play Gravekeeper Decks, so I probably will get around to play-testing this card, but I don't think it's going to make much of an impact at the moment.

ArtWork: 3.0 - A very strange looking card IMO, 3x Priest of some sort sacrificing/tributing a woman to a Sphinx-headed altar with a very spacey backdrop, and if you look close you can kinda see what looks to be a shooting star. |

Royal Tribute, 9/16/03:
Interesting card. Both players have to discard all the
monsters in their hand, leaving them with only magic
and trap cards. Hmm... Ominous Foretelling becomes a
2/3 or 3/4 chance (if you select magic), and Ordeal of
a Traveler becomes almost useless (select magic).
Other than that, you can almost guarantee (along with
Time Seal or Drop Off) that your opponent won't get
the chance to play monsters next turn. Of course, YOU
also discard monsters *coughForcedRequisitioncough*
The bad thing about this card is that it can only be
activated when Necrovalley is on the field. Actually,
that's kind of a good thing; if Necrovalley is active
your opponent can't do silly things like revive, while
you can with Rite of Spirit.
Fun thing to do with this card is when it's combo'd
with Imperial Order (activate AFTER you activate Royal
Tribute). Your opponent should be unable to actually
DO anything on the next turn, and just set traps,
which you can destroy with MST and so forth (don't pay
for IO). 'Nother fun thing would be to use Dark
Designator and call Yata or Jinzo, and then use this
card. They won't be able to use Yata/Jinzo (assuming
Necrovalley's there to stop Jinzo from coming back).
And, of course, if you discard a bunch of Gravekeepers
from your hand you can use Rite of Spirit to get them
back.
But I don't see a real good use for this card. I
suppose it could be used to stall when you're
top-decking... but I just don't like this card.

Normal Magic

Yata Lock anyone?
Getting rid of all the monster cards in your opponent's hand is simply
deadly. If you wait to use it when you don't have any monsters or have
monsters you don't mind discarding, this is devastating. This leaves
your opponent wide open for a Yata lock if they don't have a trap to
kill Yata or some other way of getting a monster onto their side of the
field - even a monster revival card won't help
since Necrovalley will be on the field.
Even without Yata, this card severely cripples your
opponent. You're
powered up Spear Soldiers and Assailants will be free to attack with
nothing to get in
their way.
The real problem with this card is that it requires Necrovalley to be
active on the field - it's dead weight without
it. Having to discard your own monsters isn't so
bad if you wait for the right timing. This card is
also useless if your opponent has no hand. You and your opponent will
also have to show each other the remainder of your
hands to prove that all the monsters are gone.
I've seen some people try to do pure monster destruction with this
card, without even doing the full Gravekeeper deck. Their goal is to
keep reloading your hand with cards like Cyber Jar, Morphing Jar, Card
Destruction, Disturbance Strategy and even Dark
Designator so they can repeatedly obliterate all
the monsters. The goal is to deplete your deck of
monsters which severely reduces your chances of
winning. Whenever Vampire Lord is released in
North America, this could be a really good
combo.
This is an amazing card but only in a Gravekeeper deck. 1 is pretty
devastating but some people use 3 for maximum crippling power.
