Stats:
Yeah, this doesn’t influence the score, but the
name sounds impressive to me, who has no clue
what it means. :-P “Gren
Maju
Da
Eiza!” Okay, now to
get series: we have a Fire Fiend here, which is
an uncommon mixture. Fire Monsters just sort of
exist, Fiends are
very well supported, and is a key to one of this
card’s callings. Being a Level 3 may very well
be the best a Monster can be: not only can it be
summoned with no Tribute,
it can slip under Gravity Bind. As for it’s
attack and DEF, they are ?/?.
This is not good-no summoning it with UFO Turtle
(like we would anyway), but more importantly, no
Witch of the Black Forest or Sangan searches
either.
Card Text (Effects):
And here is where we find that this is the
perfect compliment to Chaos Necromancer. The
flip side of the coin, Gren
Maju
Da
Eiza’s ATK and DEF
are the number of your cards removed from play x
400. In my opinion, this is about as powerful
as Chaos Necromancer. It’s annoying when my
beefy Chaos Necromancer and almost everything
else is reset by a Fiber Jar. When our boy here
is beefy and hits a Fiber Jar… ouch.
Uses/Combinations:
Okay, so I have already hinted that this card
goes with Chaos Necromancer, usually
side-decked. You bring it in if your
opponent wises up and starts trying to remove
monsters from your Graveyard. This way, if the
Graveyard is full, they are screwed. If they
remove everything, they are screwed. :-D Second
most obvious use is in decks that like to remove
cards. What decks would those be? Dark
Necrofear decks are probably the most potent
example: remove six Fiends to Special Summon two
Necrofear, then normal Summon
Gren
Maju
Da
Eiza and watch the
opponent weep. Second, Fusion decks, which I
was shocked to see
are starting to kick butt. Yes, it was just one
local tournament, but it exposed me to the basic
premise-Fusion Gate, summon say a Black Skull
Dragon using the real material, Dimension
Fusion to bring Summoned Skull and REBD to the
field. Or use Polymerization, attack with BSD,
then use De-fusion (Quick-Play, remember) to
split it during the damage step. That’s the
most potent version of the combo, but as more
fusions show up, the deck gets better and
better. Anyway, Gren
Maju
Da
Eiza makes a nice
fall back-use Fusion Gate for the summons, then
plunk down an almost as beefy
Gren along side BSD
and company. Basically, any
decks that removes cards from its own
Graveyard wants this card.
Ratings
Casual:
4/5-A sick psycho soldier for Gravity Bind.
Constructed:
3.5/5-Less impressive here, but still incredibly
potent.
Limited:
3/5-Fortunately this set specializes in removing
monsters and bringing them back.
Summary
Looks to be another great but balanced card.
Hard to believe it.
