Stats:
Seal of the Ancients is a normal Spell Card.
This is fine, though technically I suppose it
would be better as a Quick-Play, so it could be
activated on your opponent’s turn. Actually,
perhaps it should have been a permanent Spell,
and given the option of re-using the effect…
Effect(s):
This card lets you peek at all of your
opponent’s set cards. That’s actually pretty
useful. However, you must pay 1000 Life Points
to activate it. Eeeep!
It’s just worth a slot in your deck, maybe, but
definitely not worth 1000 LP.
Uses/Combinations:
If you need to waste LP and need to see what
your opponent has, then I guess this is good.
Ratings
Casual:
1.5/5-Maybe in a Last Turn deck?
Tournament:
1.25/5-Same, but even more lame.
Limited:
2/5-The heads up might be useful if you are
about to deliver the final blow and all that is
in your way are a few set cards. That cost
means that it will only be used for checking the
safety of delivering the final blow.
Summary
A card that would have been iffy if it was free
is bad when it costs 1000 LP. Maybe if it was a
permanent Spell card so that it could be
re-used, and had less of a cost (probably free),
it might be tolerable.
