DCR-051
Kaiser Glider
(Light/Dragon/6/2400/2200)
This card is not destroyed as a result of battle
when this card battles with a monster with the
same ATK. When this card is destroyed and sent to
the Graveyard, return 1 monster on the field to
its owner's hand.
Ultra Rare
First
off, let me clarify this effect for whoever is
confused. The
first part is pretty self-explanatory.
If Jinzo attacks it, whether Kaiser Glider
is in defense or attack, Kaiser Glider will not be
destroyed. You
could use this effect to ram it into any 2400
monster (Jinzo, Amphibian Beast, Beast of Talwar,
etc.) Their monster would die, and your Kaiser
Glider will live.
The second part involves Kaiser Glider
being “destroyed.”
This means that if Kaiser Glider dies as a
result of battle, from a Raigeki, Dark Hole,
Mirror Force, or even Chain Destruction, his
second effect will activate. However, if it gets
to the graveyard through Confiscation, Graceful
Charity, or by tributing, its effect will not
activate. Now
the effect of returning a monster has never been a
great effect, but then again, it’s not that bad
either. You
could return your opponent’s Vampire Lord, a
facedown monster, or even a monster on your side
of the field.
Let’s
see, Kaiser Glider’s stats aren’t so bad.
It has a high attack for a one-tribute
monster, and with its effect, Kaiser Glider
becomes the third strongest one-tribute monster
(Behind Dark Ruler Ha Des and Summoned Skull).
Its high defense, which can be good in
certain situations, make it unsearchable by Witch
of the
Black Forest
, so it loses some of its speed.
In addition, its effect of returning one
monster when destroyed can be used multiple times,
so you could end up returning multiple monsters
per duel.
The
best place, deck-wise, I can see for Kaiser
Glider, would be in a Dragon Deck.
Using the Lord of D. + Flute of Summoning
Dragon combo you by-pass his one-tribute
requirement, getting possibly two Kaiser
Glider’s on the field, and practically
guaranteeing the return of one or two monsters on
the field.
Tourney
Rating – 2.9/5.0 Pretty good card, although
there are a lot better one-tribute monsters than
this one.
Casual
Rating – This would definitely be a fun card to
play with and test out.
Artwork
– 4.5/5.0 absolutely stunning, original artwork.
