Tuesday:
Double Coston
It's the Kaiser Sea Horse for Dark-types. People who
wanted to play a major Dark type have a new ally.
Invader of Darkness becomes one Tribute. Dark
Magician of Chaos becomes one Tribute...and that's
the biggest card you have to combo with this. For
those who play casual decks, Red-Eyes Black Dragon
becomes easier to summon...and he gets a few support
cards in the next set.
However, this card is non-searchable. It holds its
own against Control but not beatsticks. Not much
more to say, because there are very few monsters
that work with it.
3.5/5 in a dedicated Dark deck, though.

Note: Added 7.07.04
In the Card of the day ExMOD
said that double coston is unsearchable which is
untrue being a zombie type it is searchable by
pyramid turtle... just thought I would let you know
and maybe some others if you post this that it is in
fact searchable

Tuesday: Double Coston
Double Coston is a very simple monster. He has
decent ATK of 1700, decent (though un-Witchable) DEF
of 1650, and a decent effect. He counts as two
tributes for Tribute Summons involving a DARK
monster.
What are good DARK monsters to use this card with?
Dark Magician of Chaos is probably the best; a 2800
ATK, Magic-grabbing monster who removes others from
play is EXTREMELY deadly at only one tribute.
Another good one is Invader of Darkness, with an
impressive 2900 ATK and the ability to negate
Quickplays. One that some may overlook is Despair
from the Dark, great in Zombie decks (and
coincidentally enough, Double Coston is a Zombie).
Really, it's a simple effect that doesn't require a
lot of explaining. It can be useful, but it's
certainly not for every deck.
Typical tournament deck: 2.5/5
DARK deck: 4/5
OVERALL RATING: 3.3/5 |
