Emes the Infinity
Emes the Infinity is a pretty interesting monster
with a lot of potential. Having only 2500 ATK, it's
relatively weak for a two-tribute monster; but don't
worry: He gets stronger.
You kill a monster; he gets more ATK. Kill more
monsters and he gets even stronger. Can you see
where this is going? If you get this guy on the
field and manage to destroy a bunch of opposing
monsters with him, his ATK could reach sickening
heights. For added fun, he's a Machine – Limiter
Removal!
Of course, there are weaknesses. He's relatively
hard to summon, being Level 7 (of course, he has no
other restrictions so he isn't THAT hard); and his
initial ATK is substandard for a monster of his
level. Your opponent also may prevent him from
attacking, not too hard to do in the Advanced
Format; but then again, with less monster removal,
he'll likely stay on the field longer. Try him with
Big Bang Shot for added fun.

Tuesday:
Emes the Infinity
Our second promo of the week is Emes, a
Light/Machine who boosts itself every time it kills
something. Generally, I'm not a fan of cards whose
effects solely raise their attack, but let's look at
everything in perspective.
In order to get this guy on the field, you either
have to Reborn it somehow or sacrifice two monsters.
It's 2,500 when it's summoned and 3,200 after it
kills something. In retrospect, Summoned Skull is a
2,500 for 1 tribute (so you're using 1 card less)
who could gain 1,000 by using an Axe of Despair as
that extra card.
The two things this card does have going for it are
its types -- Light is Chaos fodder so it can serve
some use in the Graveyard, and Machine works with
Limiter Removal.
However, I think there are much better uses of a
Tribute Monster slot than this guy.

Emes the
Infinity
Today’s card is Emes the Infinity; a two-tribute
monster your opponent could eventually wish required
more tributes.
Stats: For a Level 7 monster, Emes the Infinity has
a terrible ATK/DEF of 2500/2000. It’s a Machine
monster, allowing it a few cards to work with. It’s
also a LIGHT monster, giving it the ability to be
used with Kaiser Seahorse to lower the amount of
required tributes to one. Stats – Bad.
Effect: The effect is all Emes the Infinity has
going for it; when Emes the Infinity destroys a
monster as a result of battle and sends it to the
Graveyard, its ATK increases by 700. After
destroying its first monster, Emes the Infinity will
be an impenetrable wall of 3200 ATK. Destroying a
second monster will make it 3900, and so on. So
after a while, the positives of Emes the Infinity
will greatly out way the negatives. Effect – Good.
Combos: The best combo that comes to mind is to
power up Emes the Infinity through its effect, then
use Limiter Removal to doubles its current ATK. You
could attack if you’d like, but you should then use
Mystic Wok on Emes the Infinity to gain a great deal
of Life Points in return for all your sacrifices.
Usability: There really isn’t a deck that Emes the
Infinity shines in, so use it where you’d like.
Emes the Infinity can be a very powerful monster if
it lasts long enough to become so.
Advanced Format: 2/5. Two-tribute monsters are
rarely worth their cost in the long run, but Emes
the Infinity could end up being worth it.
Traditional Format: 2/5. Two-tribute monsters are
rarely worth their cost in the long run, but Emes
the Infinity could end up being worth it.
Overall: 2/5.
Art: 2.5/5. I don’t really understand what it’s
supposed to be, but it looks neat. |

Emes
the Infinity
Rated For: Light Decks, Machine
Decks, Infinity Decks!
Now this is a fascinating monster.
BUT IS HE FASCINATING ENOUGH? We shall see.
Advantage F/H:
Right off the bat, two tributes for a
2500 attack monster makes him near Red-Eyes Black
Dragon caliber. But I’m here to stress to you that
the attack of the monster does not matter after a
certain cut-off point. In this case, 2500 attack
makes him stronger than anything but Black Luster
Soldier, which would kill a 3000 attack monster
anyways! So 2500 attack is fine for a 7 star
tribute, since it’s above the 2400 “Jinzo” cut off
point. Now that that’s settled, let’s look at his
effect. Keep him on the field for 1-2 turns, and
you’ll get 3200 to 3900 attack. Obviously, there’s
huge potential here, but at most you’ll boost him
1-2 monsters. 3200 for a two tribute monster gives a
score of:
More Yata Locks, Hand Disruption

Best Draw for the Situation:
I agree, a two tribute
monster is going to need some sort of help in
getting him out onto the field. You have the
standard dumps, through Card Destruction and Painful
Choice, but machines have no real other options to
get him out. I suppose you could try Petens or
Kaiser Glider, but those don’t create much synergy
either. Sadly, Emes will always be a bad draw.
More Recursion

Attributes/Effect:
Being light is excellent. Being a
Machine is excellent. Attack is strong enough to
dominate the field. Effect is fabulous, making him a
real threat.

Dependability:
I’m going to decree that he can
definitely hit at least one monster, bringing his
total up to 3200. In the right deck, this sort of
threat will keep your opponent at bay for numerous
turns, and one Limiter Removal can seal the deal
right there. Unfortunately, he has the drawback of
being a two-tribute monster without reliable methods
of bringing him out.
More Mass

The Bottom Line:
Sorry, but he’s not playable in his
current incarnation.

Switching
from CMC to Destiny Board Traveler, we find
ourselves with a huge machine with a built-in attack
increase.
I've got a soft spot for Machines. I've also a soft
spot for built-in attack increases. Emes/Emesu is a
personal favorite. Every time he kills a monster, he
gets 700 ATK. Sadly, that is about as deep as you
get with just one look at the card's effect.
Everything else is stats. Machines are renowned for
Machine/Chaos. This guy helps (not so much as X-Head
Cannon, though). His stats are very good, and a
Limiter Removal will most likely make this guy (or
Jinzo) the finishing move. Sadly, since he is a
Level 7, you will be hurt horrendously if they
Compulsory Evacuation Device or Sakuretsu Armor him.
Book of Moon or Tsukuyomi wouldn't hurt him too
much, though.
Too little to be done with it.
2/5 Traditional. Stick with the good 2 tribs, like
DMoC.
2.3/5 Advanced. Jinzo >>>>> Emes in advanced, and
with CED seeing immense amounts of play, it will
just hurt you more to play him.
