Ultimate Offering
Ryoga makes sweet passionate love to this card
(since half of his puzzles on the main site involve
this card's use.)
Just like Monday, I'm referring to this as a
negative overextension -- forget about the LP for a
second -- you're giving up 1 card from hand for the
right to give up MORE cards in your hand to swarm
the field.
There are some pretty good uses for this card though
-- remember, it can be used during your opponent's
Battle Phase -- so if you have a MoF in your hand
you're afraid of getting Crossouted, you can wait
until your battle phase, pay the 500 LP to drop the
Magician, and if they DO want to Crossout it, they
have to give up their battle phase to do so.
Also, if you're playing a deck where you get
positive effects from monsters whenever they do
damage (Airknight, Masked Sorcerer, Don Zaloog,
Spirit Reaper) giving up the extra card and LP for a
summon might be worthwhile, because when you
draw/they discard, it'll even out.
However, I haven't seen Ultimate Offering in a Top 8
decklist for a Regionals, SJC, or other major event
for some time -- hey original people, there's your
challenge! Make a deck that gets success out of
using Ultimate Offering so we can all netdeck it.
1/5 Traditional (hand control owns all here)
3/5 Advanced (has potential for good combos but no
one's used it yet)
5/5 Limited (swarm without mass removal = gg)

Ultimate Offering
There are two things about this card that people
never seem to get right. Here is the truth, 100%
confirmed, regardless of what anyone else has told
you or even what other reviewers here might say:
1) Only YOU can use Ultimate Offering. Your opponent
can’t use yours and you can’t use his.
2) You can ONLY activate this card’s effect during
YOUR OWN MAIN PHASES or during YOUR OPPONENT’S
BATTLE PHASE. Not during your Battle Phase, not
during his Main Phases. Got it? Good.
That being said, UO is actually quite a nice card.
For a mere 500 LP, you get to summon an extra
monster to the field. Summon a monster, pay 500,
sacrifice it for Jinzo. Summon a Berserk Gorilla,
pay 500, summon another; pay 500, summon another;
pay 500, summon Enraged Battle Ox. Fun!
It can backfire, of course, as you’re both depleting
your hand AND giving up Life Points, but this is a
great tool if you feel like swarming the field.
Umm…read the beginning of this review again. It’s
really important.

Ultimate Offering
Our final card of NPT Week is Ultimate Offering, a
Trap that fell from grace long ago.
At the cost of 500 Life Points for each monster you
want to summon, UO allows you an extra Normal Summon
or Set. Now the big question is when can you use
this effect? The answer is during your Main Phases
and during your opponent’s Battle Phase. With that
said, what are UO’s uses? Beatdown gains the most
benefit, allowing you to summon five 1900 ATK
monsters in one turn.
XYZ Decks (or something similar) also benefit from
UO by getting the chance to summon all XYZ pieces in
one turn.
Now with UO’s potential to bring great success, why
isn’t it used anymore?
There are a few reasons for UO’s lack of play. The
first is the cost; while 500 Life Points may seem
like a small amount, it can add up in a hurry. If
you were to summon four monsters through UO, that
would be a loss of 2000 Life Points, a high amount
for an effect that may come back to haunt you.
Reason 2: it clashes with hand advantage; if you use
UO to summon two extra monsters, which brings you
two cards closer to being Yata Locked (in
Traditional anyway). Reason the last: If you get
greedy and fill your field with monsters via UO,
that makes an opponent’s Lightning Vortex or Mirror
Force much more effective then they would have been
had you stuck with your one allowed Normal Summon,
crippling you to an extent that victory may be lost.
All in all, UO is a card that be both helpful and a
pain at the same time. Decide for yourself if you
think you should use it, but don’t get carried away
if you do.
Advanced: 3/5. Eh, it can swing both ways…
Traditional: 2/5. UO is an opposing Yata’s best
friend.
Overall: 2.5/5.
Art: 2.5/5. A monster being born from blood? Sounds
like something out of Greek mythology.

Welcome to Friday everyone, and as the week of No
Apparent Theme cleverly coined by Snapper
progresses, we come to a nifty card.
Ultimate Offering
Effect: At the cost of 500 lifepoints, a person is
allowed an extra Normal Summon or Set (like you
didn't know that
Well
To my knowledge, and I may be mistaken, these are
the ONLY times the effect of Ultimate Offering can
be used.
*Your Main Phase 1
*Your Main Phase 2
*Your Opponent's Battle Phase
I'm pretty sure about those. Anywhoo...I've tried to
like this card. I really tried. An extra monster
isn't so bad. In a tribute heavy deck, this can help
bring them out faster. In a Beatdown/Swarm deck,
this can help accomplish both goals. The lifepoints
cost at 500 isn't all that bad.
Let's see...It's also a Continuous Trap which makes
it prone to Breaker, Chiron, Royal Decree (?), Jinzo,
and Mystical Space Typhoon like wh0a.
Sadly, I just don't see a real use for this card. If
someone can think of a GOOD and serious reason as to
why to run this in a deck, e-mail me @ tsearcy@lssu.edu.
As for any real uses or purposes, I'm stumped, and
I'm too tired to try and put any huge thought into
this as my College Exams are all this week.
As I said, if you find a decent logical use for the
card, e-mail me.
Ratings:
1.5/5 Across the board. Believe it or not, it
doesn't deserve a 1. It can do something decent I
think. I may change it if I've missed some dazzling
combo or something.
That does it for next week, join us on Monday
You stay classy, Planet Earth

Ultimate Offering is a great combo card. In Duel
Monsters 6 and in Worldwide Edition, this thing
works during your Battle Phase, making it the most
ridiculous card in the game.
In real life, it does little. As it is, it helps you
summon monsters at intriguing times and in
intriguing numbers. Setting one Ultimate Offering
and then letting your opponent summon a Don or
something only to be met with Kycoo, D.D. Assailant,
Breaker the Magical Warrior and D.D. Warrior Lady is
rather funny, especially when followed up by a
Lightning Vortex. I just never said who it was funny
for.
It goes well with Tsukuyomi and Sinister Serpent/Zolga/whatever
with Dark Dust Spirit, as well as with decks that do
something along the lines of Heart of the Underdog >
Draw 50 cards. They won't mind killing their hands
as much, I think.
General:
Traditional: 1.4/5 (OVEREXTENSION BAD!)
Advanced: 2.6/5 (Combos good)
