Lord
Tranorix
Spiritual Fire Art – Kurenai

We move onto the third Spiritual Art: Kurenai. For this one, you tribute a FIRE monster; and then you inflict damage to your opponent’s Life Points equivalent to that monster’s base ATK.

The way I see it, your best bet is to use this in conjunction with Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch. Once you get him on the field, his effect activates; and then he’s really just a 2400 attacker who won’t do much else. Why not just blast him to do away with over ¼ of your opponent’s Life Points?

This works with other FIRE monsters as well, of course…sort of a reverse Mystik Wok. It can be used to counter destruction cards, Snatch Steal, Brain Control, and those sorts of things – but I maintain that Thestalos is probably your best bet here.

CCGCC: 1.5/5
FIRE-Burn: 5/5
OVERALL RATING: 3.3/5

ExMinion OfDarkness
Spiritual Fire Art -- Kurenai

This time you sac a Fire monster, and deal direct damage. Fitting.

You're giving up 2 cards to do burn -- that's sub-par at best, given that Wave-Motion Cannon could probably do more damage in less time than it takes to set this up. HOWEVER, I again bring up the point of the wasted card -- if your opponent's about to Snatch or RFG your Phoenix, or kill your Thestalos, this lets you waste their card and deal 2400 in the process. Competitive Fire decks (if there even ARE such things, or ever will be), have their Ring of Destruction back that we're losing come October...but in weaker form.

So if you're ever out, dueling, watching the fiery sunset after a long drive home, you might as well do some burn damage while you're there...

Being that I really don't know how this card would do in the new format, some random ratings:

Traditional: 1.05 / 5
Advanced: 2/5

Coin Flip
Here's a card that can have a deck built around it. Basically, Fire Arts is great if you can take your opponent's Lava Golem and... Actually, no. It's a barely consistent decktype at best.

But hey, it has potential for easy kills just like Magical Explosion has potential. But... Well, don't use it outside of a deck dedicated to it. Cards for LP is generally a bad trade, and the exceptions are very rare (Wave-Motion Cannon is the only one I can think of off the top of my head).

Since it really would only go in a deck built for it... No rating. :)

Snapper Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai

Today's card is Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai, the third best Spiritual Art that really only gains its ranking due to the wide array of uses the fourth Spiritual Art possesses.

At the cost of Tributing a FIRE monster on your side of the field, Kurenai allows you to inflict damage unto the opponent equal the original ATK of the Tributed monster. Unlike Monday and Tuesday's cards, it is not wise to sacrifice weaklings for Kurenai's effect. You COULD Tribute a Fox Fire for its effect, but I don't think 300 points of damage would faze the opponent very much.

Instead of using FIRE weenies, you'd be better off Tributing FIRE beatsticks at a time that victory would be guaranteed. FIRE beatsticks include Command Knight, Gaia Soul the Combustible Collective, the Horus monsters, Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys, Manticore of Darkness, Solar Flare Dragon, Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch, and a Lava Golem your opponent coincidentally gave you at a time in which you've got Kurenai ready in wait. I'm sure there are some "combos" that could be used with Kurenai and the aforementioned monsters, but, you know, they're FIRE monsters, so who cares?

If you take the final paragraph from the previous two day's card reviews and replace EARTH/WATER with FIRE, you'll find out what's wrong with Kurenai.
Yet unlike Kurogane and Aoi, Kurenai's problem is that NO CC Decks use FIRE monsters. At all. Heck, not even Burn Decks use a great deal of FIRE monsters, and that's the place Kurenai would be most welcome. So instead, Kurenai is stuck in FIRE Decks. Why you'd use a FIRE Deck though is beyond me.

Advanced (FIRE Deck): 4/5. Extra Burn doesn't really seem necessary, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt.
Traditional (FIRE Deck): 3.5/5. See Advanced.
Advanced (FIRE Deck): 3.75/5.
Art: 5/5. Hiita is the coolest of all the Charmers. She has Fox Fire under her control for Pete's sake!

Dark Paladin
As our week of no monsters along progresses we come to another charming trap card...

Spiritual Fire Art-Kurenai

Tribute one Fire monster on your side of the field. Inflict damage to your opponent's lifepoints equal to the original attack of the Tributed Monster.

This is another excellent card obviously for the Fire deck. This card fits so well into the fire deck as so many Fire monsters burn and inflict direct damage to your opponent through various card effects (eg Thestalos, Solar Flare Dragon, etc.)

Tribute a Sacred Phoenix or Thestalos, and your opponent loses 2400 lifepoints. That's over 25% and that could easily be a game ending card right there. I don't really see why this card shouldn't be used in the Fire deck.

I'm going to give this card a 5/5 in Fire decks as I believe it's just that good.

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Rj Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai
Group: Trap Card
Type: Trap
Tribute 1 FIRE monster on your side of the field. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the original ATK of the Tributed monster.
Ah. This card is pretty cool! Tribute one fire monster on your side of the field, and your opponent takes damage equal to the ORIGINAL attack. Attack modifying junk like United We Stand/Mage Power won't help this thing, but it still should be looked at!

Hmm. Of course, any type of support that comes out for Fire HAS to have something to do with Burn. How cliche =/. If they just came out with 2-3 solid support monsters for burn...Just 2-3 -_-a.

Of course, like many other Burn cards, this provides you with no other advantage other then Life Point advantage, except Lava Golemn, who gets rid of 2 monsters, possibly hurting your burn chances (BLS + Jinzo anyone? I have been there ^^.), then, they take 1000.

This can be a game ender if you have some godly combo like Lava Golem+Snatch Steal+Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai =/. Not worth it xD.

Traditional: -_-a. 1.5/5

Advanced: =] 2/5
