Trap Hole

Wow...this brings us ALL back.

This card's been overshadowed by its bigger brother, Bottomless Trap Hole, for quite some time, but it's been creeping back into play somewhat. There's a good reason; there are a lot of cards that have more than 1,000 but less than 1,500 ATK points that are slipping under BTH. Don Zaloog and Mystic Tomato are fine examples.

Trap Hole isn't entirely useless against larget monsters; although it won't do anything against a special summoned Cyber Dragon, but against D. D. Assailant, Drillroid, etc. it still gets the job done. It also serves Bottomless's purpose of getting rid of a Breaker before it can use its Spell counter.

With a rise in Dark World decks, we'll probably see less of Don Zaloog, so we'll see less of this. But don't write it off entirely, it still has its uses.

Coin Flip
Trap Hole is classic. It should get some more popularity. It stops the widespread Don/Tomato usage, as well as Tsukuyomi, which may regain some popularity when people realize how AWESOME he is with a certain choo choo train.

Is it worth playing? Yup. Should you? Naah. The trap lineup has been locked with the more useful Widespread Ruin. Unless you see single and double (and gasp, triple) Mobius, or the occasional Chiron the Mage, Bottomless and normal Trap Hole are only options for diversity and tech. 5x Sakuretsu does it for most people.

Another lineup worth trying, however, is TH, BTH, and Widespread to complement triple Sakuretsu Armor. It's worth trying.

This card is easily more solid now than it's been since we got Jinzo.

General: 3.1/5

Dark Paladin
Welcome to a new week of cards, and I don't really know our theme, but it seems to be random tech or even possibly side-deck week...you decide.

Today we look at a very old card, Trap Hole. Now, is there any reason to use Trap Hole AND Bottolmless Trap Hole? Or, even more importantly, instead of BTH? Argubaly.

Trap Hole does actually have a pro over Bottomless Trap Hole, the fact it targets monsters with 1000 attack points or higher. That can nuke Sangan and White Magical Hat just to name a couple, but that's about it. Trap Hole doesn't work on special summons but BTH does.

Ratings:

2/5 general, it isn't bad, but it isn't that great
Art: 3/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
