ExMinion OfDarkness
Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive

This card's been showing up more and more in Advanced now as well.

In a pinch, it's a mid-range attacker; at best, you're getting a draw and fending off an attack. It's not so vulnerable like Des Lacooda, and you can still use things like Tsukuyomi to repeatedly flip this guy back down to get extra draws.

Beatdown/aggro decks won't have the time to pull that off, but control decks will be able to net a good advantage out of a couple more cards.

Not much more to say here; it combos with Book, it combos with Tsuku, its attack doesn't totally blow, but almost any drawpower is good.

1/5 Traditional
3.5/5 Advanced

Coin Flip
CHOO CHOO!

There isn't much to say here. Dekoichi is a draw engine, and a damn good one. Let's present this concept. Dekoichi gives you +1, but considering its strength, it probably won't stick around for long, creating a -1. Even card advantage. If you hit into a Sakuretsu Armor, that's a 1 for 1 with a +1. If they just take the attack, you're up one card and 1400 life. Flipping it with Book of Moon and Tsukuyomi gives you more advantage as well as versatility. It's also a DARK. Did I mention that it's card advantage attached to a decent body? I mean, this thing is up there with GK Spy for best teched DARK. The best slot is obviously Peten the Dark Clown. =P

This card is rather good. My rating system is inconsistent, so chances are it won't get a rating on par with Spy (Spy gets a better rating anyway), but I dislike the concept of mathematical evaluation of a card's potential anyway.

General: 3.9/5

Dark Paladin
Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive is an excellent tech card right now, falling short of better draw alternatives such as Airknight in the current advanced format. The effect is simple, when flipped, you can draw 1 card from your deck. Also, you get 1 more card for any Bokoichi the Freightening Car so it has a place in any Dekoichi themed train decks you feel like running.

Ratings: 3/5 general for being a valued draw option in the current advanced format

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Satisfaction
Dekoichi is now the new tech in most decks. The ability to gain a card advantage or sustain it is viable in this format. But the stats for such a card is a big point also. Dekoichi has 1400 attack which is alright because there is many things it can still take out.

Dekoichi is a a Dark which is removal bait for Chaos Sorcerer. The best situation is that when you protect Dekoichi with something such as a Sakuretsu, activate Dekoichi's effect on your turn than tribute for Mobius the Frost Monarch. This is how games are determined over in only the second or third turn. You gain a lot of card advantage if your opponent doesn't activate anything.

Dekoichi is now being recognized by many players and the draw capability is that usable in this format. As this would be very nice in many decks the deck it works the best in is Soul Exchange. It provides the Monarchs something to tribute for without wasting a card advantage. I would highly suggest running this in the current metagame, but there is always those broken Mystic Swordsman LV2 and Breaker the Magical Warrior first turn plays.

Traditional: 1.5/5.0
Advanced: 4.4/5.0
Soul Exchange: 4.8/5.0
Art: 4.8/5.0 ( if ultimate ; ) )

Hmmm.... I wonder who is going this card at Shonen Jump this week.
