Rescue Cat
Yay, an OTK Kevin Tewart hasn't butchered by
restricting a key card yet!
A lot of people don't know about this one turn win
possibility yet as it hasn't seen a heck of a lot of
play. But let me run through it with you.
1. Make sure the opponent has no S/Ts down (Giant
Trunade; Heavy Storm)
2. Make sure the opponent has no monsters on the
field (or only one weak DEF monster, like a Magician
of Faith or Sangan.)
3. Play Rescue Cat to the field.
4. Activate Last Will.
5. Rescue Cat #1 goes to the Graveyard, letting you
get 2 Milus Radiants.
6. Last Will triggers. Get another Rescue Cat.
7. Tribute that Rescue Cat for a third Milus Radiant
and a strong Beast (most likely Des Wombat -- if
they have that one weak defender, then pull
Gyaku-Gire Panda instead.)
You have 1800 + 1800 + 1800 + 3100 on the field. If
attacking directly this is enough to win the game.
If you pulled Gyaku and they only have one monster,
you have 1800 + 1800 + 1800 + a 2800 Trampler. If
the opponent's monster's DEF is 1200 or less, this
is also enough to win the game.
Hopefully this one starts to see some play again.
I'd love to see a One Turn Kill take a Shonen Jump
or something.
2/5 Traditional (we have Scientist here, which is
more stable)
4/5 Advanced (for being a OTK)

Rescue Cat would have been much better suited if it
were closer to or before Christmas. I mean, it's
adorable and it's pretty close to a Christmas card.
Some people actually get pets as Christmas presents.
Heck, the cat you see in the picture over there is
the surviving daughter of a Christmas present many
years ago. She's also DAMNED good at YGO! Guess what
deck she plays. That's right, the "lay down on the
opponent's cards so they can't use them" deck. She
uses a similar tactic for chess and backgammon. I
imagine it's because she has no opposable thumbs.
Rescue Cat is pretty unsplashable, but it's a good
card. It gets low-level Beast monsters. Something to
keep in mind is that if you only have one (or zero)
in your deck, you can't pull it out since you have
to pull out exactly two. Heck, there's a OTK built
around this card.
Basically, you need a Gaia Power (possibly decorated
with Christmas lights), a Last Will, a Rescue Cat,
and possibly an Enraged Battle Ox.
You activate Last Will, then Gaia Power. You play
Rescue Cat and activate the fuzzy wuzzy adorable's
effect. It dies, unfortunately, but it brings out
two puppies. 2 Milus Radiant, actually. Then you use
Last Will's effect and pull out, GASP, another
Rescue Cat. Its noble sacrifice brings out another
puppy (PUPPY!) and then you can go for the perfect
match to three puppies. Yup. A Panda. A Gyaku-Gire
Panda. With Gaia Power and the effect of three Milus
Radiants stacking up…
Well, since you have AT LEAST four beasts on the
field, all of which are also EARTH monsters, you're
looking at four monsters with a 2000 ATK boost.
Remind me again what 4x2000 is? Yeah, your starting
life.
8000. One of them has Piercing/trample. That's not
even counting their base ATK values...
The trouble is that it requires buildup and a clear
field… Which is easily provided by a Giant Trunade.
Oh, and if you happen to have Enraged Battle Ox (an
optional part of the combo) out, you just boosted
his ATK by 2000 to 3700. But he is a kind person and
returns gifts of 2000 ATK with Piercing Battle
Damage/trample for your other four monsters.
TRY THIS DECK. If you think you might have fun
playing Dark Necrofear or Strike Ninja or something,
shut up and sit down. This deck will BLOW YOU AWAY
with its sheer fun factor. There are a lot of jokes
you can make with the deck...
Of course, you could also put it in Exodia with
three 3-Hump Lacoodas ("Chris! That's a terrible
word! Hump.")* and then attempt to use some crazy
drawpower, but it doesn't seem viable, y'know? Just
stick with One Turn Kills.
General: 1.2/5 (there is a small chance you might be
able to fetch Nimble Momongas with this) OTK based
around it: 9/5
* - props if you caught the Family Guy reference

“It's a OTK and it's FUZZY WUZZY ADORABLE.” –Coin

CF said that if we told anyone that he said that, we
would die. I guess I’m not going to any Socal Yu-Gi-Oh
events any time soon…
That quote pretty much describes what Rescue Cat is.
You summon the adorable fuzzy kitten, you sacrifice
it, and you get two more fuzzy creatures in its
place. It’s free advantage for one turn, it can
combo with dumb and horrible cards like Three-Hump
Lacooda, and it provides a strong basis of field and
card advantage with Nimble Momonga and Hyena. More
important, it allows you to win in one turn when
combined with Last Will. Aren’t Gyaku-Gire Pandas
and Milus Radiants silly cards? Of course, this win
condition is far from stable in an environment with
few sheep tokens, especially when a search function
to summon Rescue Cat, Giant Rat, is easily nerfed by
cards such as Smashing Ground. Oh well. It’s
certainly fun! It’s also completely useless in
traditional, since you’ll just die to the other more
efficient FTKs…or to Dark World. Mirage of Nightmare
and Graceful Charity are so stupid.

As
our week continues, we come to the adorable looking
Rescue Cat.
Now, take about 7 seconds to admire the cute little
picture, ok?
Now, aside from the One Turn Kill that you all
should be completely aware of, Rescue Cat, simply
put, is crap. The effect doesn't make for anything
good and it's just a waste.
Ratings:
1.5/5 all
4.5/5 It's own OTK though
Art: 4.5/5 so adorable
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
