Shadowslayer
Hey, look, the text Black Tyranno was supposed to
get in the first place!
Shadowslayer isn't a great monster, I'll be honest
with you. I wouldn't even say it's on par with the
current field -- the Elemental Searchers get their
kamikaze for another monster, and the Pyramid Turtle
only has to sacrifice 200 to get Vampire Lord out.
However, it does have a benefit against the Zombie
deck; Spirit Reaper = direct ATK, Spirit Reaper +
Scapegoats = Still a direct ATK.
I could see putting one in a fiend deck, or in a
teched-out deck that desperately needs another Dark
type to help get out BLS, but that's about it.

Shadowslayer
Shadowslayer is what Black Tyranno and Drillago
should have been. With 1400 ATK, he isn’t very
strong; but an equip or two will solve that problem
for you. Being DARK and a Fiend are also very nice
features.
If the only monsters your opponent has are in
Defense Position (note that this DIFFERS from Black
Tyranno and Drillago in that he can attack directly
even if there are Spells and Traps on the field),
this can attack directly. That is a phenomenal
effect, especially taking into consideration the
vast number of cards we have that can get those
monsters in DEF. Swords of Concealing Light comes to
mind, along with Book of Moon and Tsukuyomi. Put his
monsters into DEF, then attack for 1400, which
really isn’t bad at all.
I can easily see this card working in a Fiend Deck
focused on Necrofear, especially because he is
easily summonable by Mystic Tomato. Tomato can be
used to bring out both Shadowslayer and Dark Jeroid
(who will likely be able to get rid of [or at least
weaken] any ATK monsters your opponent has).
Shadowslayer and Jeroid seem to make quite a team…

Shadowslayer
Today’s card is Shadowslayer, a Fiend that I’ve
grown a liking to.
Shadowslayer has what is quickly becoming the bare
minimum ATK for a Level 4 or lower monster; 1400.
With it Shadowslayer can contend with many popular
monsters in today’s dueling environment, though it
isn’t guaranteed to survive the battle (kamikaze).
It’s also a Fiend, giving it access to a fair amount
of support in the forms of Dark Ruler Ha Des and
Dark Necrofear (as fodder).
When the only monsters on the opponent’s side of the
field are in Defense Position, Shadowslayer can
attack the opponent directly. This is a very useful
effect for two reasons:
1) It can do a lot of damage; without the aid of
power boosts Shadowslayer can take nearly 1/4th of
the opponent’s Life Points in one attack. And of
course with power boosts it should be taking more
than 1/4th of their Life Points.
2) The large number of cards that enable you to put
mass numbers of monsters into Defense Position.
Examples of these cards are those equal to or
similar than Swords of Concealing Light, Curse of
Anubis, Earthquake, Windstorm of Etaqua, Tsukuyomi,
and so on. I personally prefer Swords of Concealing
Light since it is a longer lasting effect, but you
can use whatever you please.
All in all, Shadowslayer is a great and underrated
Fiend that I am personally biased towards. If you’ve
got a Fiend Deck, try it out; you may find it to be
a useful weapon.
Advanced (Fiend Deck): 4/5. Very neat monster when
comboed appropriately.
Traditional (Fiend Deck): 4/5. See Advanced.
Overall (Fiend Deck): 4/5.
Art: 2/5. It’s like Dark Assailant cut off his head
and put a cow skull in its place… |

Shadowslayer
Well, this guy has an impressive (lol) 1400 attack
and can directly attack your opponent. However, he
can ONLY attack your opponent if they have ONLY
defense posistion monsters on their side of the
field.
Plus, if you're somehow able to pull this effect
off, you better protect him because if you're
opponent can't deal with a 1400 attack monster, then
they shouldn't be dueling.
This guy does have a few things going for him
though. First, he's Dark, making him Chaos food.
He's also a Fiend which makes him food for Dark
Necrofear, remember him?
A 1400 direct attack is good, but this isn't the
best card in the game.
