Behemoth, the King of All Animals
Rarity
This card can be Normal Summoned or Set with 1
Tribute Monster. In that case, the original ATK of
this card becomes 2000. When this card is Tribute
Summoned successfully, you can return from your
Graveyard to the owner's hand a number of Beast-Type
monsters equal to the number of Tribute monsters.

Behemoth, the King of All Animals
This card isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to
be -- but I'm still sick of it, having pulled over
10 of it already.
You either have a 2700 ATK 2-trib monster and +2
cards to your hand or a 2000 ATK 1-tribute monster
and +1 card to your hand.
A dedicated Beastdown deck could make good use of
this -- hand advantage + something to go along with
that Enraged Battle Ox = a painful situation for
your opponnet. Just imagine this and Enraged against
a wall of Scapegoats.
I don't see this getting a lot of play outside the
Beast type though. In the game of Yu-Gi-Oh, you need
an INCREDIBLE effect to see play as a 2-tribute
monster; in my opinion, and I could be wrong, the
only 2-tribute monsters you actually summon with 2
tributes that fit that bill right now are Dark
Magician of Chaos and Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys.
3/5 for the Beastdown possibilities.

Coin Flip |
Behemoth the King of All Animals is an interesting
attempt at livelying up Beasts. Sadly, it will not
fare as well as Manticore of Darkness or Berserk
Gorilla or Enraged Battle Ox. While those cards are
so good with Beasts they're being played elsewhere,
this card is only average with Beasts and is played
rarely in there.
A 2700/1500 is good for a 2-trib. Not optimal, but
no complaining here. A 2000 1 Tribute is average.
The effect is what's interesting. This card turns
your field presence with monsters into hand
presence. It is, essentially, a free Tribute Summon.
You can get back Berserk Gorillas after tributing
some stupid little monsters pulled out by the effect
of a Rescue Cat… You can pull out Mad Dogs, recycle
through Rescue Cats, or even – for some strange
reason – add Outstanding Dog Marron back to your
hand from the Graveyard (it got there from the
removed from play zone, where you used Miracle Dig
to get it back).
The effect bears thinking about. Since Rescue Cat
cannot pull cards out from the deck… =\
Give it a 3.5/5 in Beast decks (both formats) and
2/5 in General (both formats), wish you a jolly good
weekend, and move along now.

Behemoth the King of All Animals
This is an underrated monster that’s much better
than people give it credit for. With 2700 ATK, it
can hold its own, and even though it requires two
tributes…it doesn’t always require two tributes.
You can choose to tribute one monster instead, in
which case Behemoth’s ATK will be reduced to a
still-respectable-though-not-quite-so-intimidating
2000. It’s your choice, really; but keep in mind
that tributing for Behemoth isn’t quite as painful
as tributing for other monsters. After all, you can
take back a number of Beasts from your Graveyard
commensurate to the number of monsters you tributed
for Behemoth in the first place!
So if you sacrifice, say, Enraged Battle Ox for
this, you can bring back that Nimble Momonga you
never got to use. Sacrifice your Mad Dog of Darkness
and return a helpful Berserk Gorilla. Sacrifice two
Nimble Momongas and take back two Gorillas.
Sacrifice Sinister Serpent and bring back another
Behemoth. And of course, you ARE allowed to bring
back the same monster you tributed, presuming it’s a
Beast.
In a Beast Deck, I’d definitely run this monster.
Enraged Battle Ox makes him ferocious and rentsy,
and his effect is more than enough to compensate for
whatever loss of hand advantage you might be
suffering for whatever reason. It’s a good monster.

Behemoth the King of All Animals
Our final card of FET Week is Behemoth the King of
All Animals, a monster I had 4 of at one point, two
of which were Ultimate Rares. Stupid Ultimates; how
I hate thee.
Behemoth has fairly good stats; 2700 ATK should
allow it to contend with most monsters your opponent
summons. It could ideally be a little higher due to
it being Level 7, but you can always use Trojan
Horse with it to lessen the required Tributes to
one. He’s also a Beast, giving him the chance to
gain a Trample ability when it and Enraged Battle Ox
are face-up on the field.
Because most don’t enjoy Tributing 2 monsters to
summon one, Behemoth’s effect should be appealing to
said most. If you decide you’d like to only tribute
one monster to Normal Summon Behemoth, you may do so
at the price of Behemoth’s ATK being lowered to
2000. The effect isn’t too much of a drawback; of
course 2000 ATK for a one Tribute monster is less
ideal than a Level 7 or higher monster at all, but
you can’t win them all. However the effect gives
Behemoth access to any Deck abusing Skill Drain. By
using Behemoth’s first effect while Skill Drain is
active you can Tribute one monster to Normal Summon
a 2700 ATK Behemoth. Not too shabby eh? And if you’d
prefer not using Skill Drain with Behemoth, flipping
him face-down then face-up will reset his ATK to
2700.
Behemoth’s second effect allows you to add Beasts in
your Graveyard to your hand equal to the number of
monster Tributed to Tribute Summon Behemoth. So if
you don’t use Behemoth’s effect, you can add two
Beast in your Graveyard to your hand, and if you
used his effect than you can add one Beast to your
hand. This second effect is probably more useful
than the first; at least in a Beast Deck anyway. In
a Beast Deck you gain the opportunity to reuse your
destroyed Berserk Gorillas, King Tiger Wanghus,
Bazoos, Nimble Momangas, and a few other Beasts that
may be worth mentioning. Overall, Behemoth is a very
useful monster in a Beast Deck, and a substandard
monster everywhere else.
Advanced (Beast Deck): 4/5. Getting to reuse Berserk
Gorillas should be reason enough to at least try
Behemoth.
Traditional (Beast Deck): 4/5. See Advanced
Overall: 4/5.
Art (Beast Deck): 4/5. The pinkness of his fur kind
of takes away from his ferocity, but the droll seems
to be fearsome enough to scare that bear thing in
the background.

Behemoth the King of All Animals
This card is game-breaking or anything, but for
whatever reason, I'm surprised this card hasn't been
reviewed yet.
Behemoth boasts an impressive 2700 attack which is
about as low as I would require for a 2 tribute
monster. However, the effect isn't all that special
and won't give you all that much advantage.
Returning two beasts to your hand from your
graveyard could be good if you had GOOD beasts in
the graveyard. Secondly, Behemoth can be summoned
with only ONE tribute.
However, sadly, if Behemoth is summoned with only
one Tribute, he becomes Vampire Lord, at least in
terms of attack strength because he instantly falls
to 2000 attack points.
Sadly, Behemoth isn't quite KING of anything.
