ExMinion OfDarkness	Ocean Dragon Lord -- Neo-Daedalus Welcome back, watered-down CED! I'd like to point out that the text on the card is incorrect and has been errata'd -- you can ONLY bring this guy out by sacrificing a regular Levia-Dragon on your side of the field. Water decks get their new trump card. 2900 is great, Special Summoning is also great. Not reviving hurts, as that's another benefit to playing BLS you don't get here. Instead of nuking the field for burn damage and a clear field, you keep ODL on the field and presumably hit for 2900 -- barring Waboku, Threatening Roar, Ring, or Book of Moon targeting ODL (the effect would still go through...) Divine Wrath would also suck for an Ocean Dragon Lord user. I'm glad to see there's a REALISTIC price to getting this guy out -- giving up a Levia you only paid 1 Tribute for because of ALO means you're using 3 cards to clear the field and practically win the game if the effect goes through. Scientist FTKs usually required 3 cards, Last Turn requires 3 cards...typically a combo that almost says "you win" that only requires 3 cards is worth playing. CED is broken and is banned for a reason. This is a bit harder to use but WILL see play, ESPECIALLY with the new starter decks. Traditional: 2/5 (Go with the best) Advanced: 4.25/5 (Great potential here.)
Lord Tranorix	Ocean Dragon Lord – Neo-Daedalus This guy is a more powerful version of the much-beloved Levia-Dragon – Daedalus (famous for being one of the only playable – well actually – one of the ONLY Sea Serpents). He has more ATK (though not much more); 2900 is very nice. He has a better effect. But he’s also much harder to use. First of all, to use this guy you’ll need to have Levia-Dragon on the field. While not difficult to do, chances are you’ll be tempted to use Levia-Dragon’s effect before bothering to bring out Ocean Dragon Lord. When you DO bring out the Ocean Dragon Lord (or if), you’re essentially guaranteed 2900 damage to your opponent’s Life Points. It’s a toned down version of Chaos Emperor Dragon’s effect. Instead of paying 1000, you send Umi to the Graveyard (which would go to the Graveyard by this card’s effect anyway, so that’s no big loss). And there’s no damage. But you get to keep your monster on the field – a HUGE bonus. Your opponent will (unless he has Sinister Serpent or something) go into topdeck mode while you have a powerful 2900 ATK monster on the field. If he doesn’t draw something great, fast, he’s doomed. Another thing to note is that this guy’s a nomi monster. Once he dies, he’s not coming back. Snapper	Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus Today’s card is Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus, the first monster in a long time to beg for an erratum. ODL has some very nice stats; 2900 ATK is above what is expected of a Level 7 or higher monster, thus allowing it to destroy almost any monster it may face in battle. Its WATER Attribute also helps out its ATK appeal by giving it a power boost from a WATER Deck staple; A Legendary Ocean. While ALO is active ODL jumps up to a 3100 ATK monster, making it more than enough competition for the like of an opponent-controlled BLS. Sadly, ODL has a Nomi effect, or at least it does if you follow erratas (which you should). With the errata in effect, ODL can only be Special Summoned from your hand by Tributing a Levia-Dragon - Daedalus on your side of the field. Unlike most Nomi monsters, ODL’s summoning restrictions aren’t terrible, mainly due to the easiness there is to summon a Levia-Dragon. Levia can be summoned in one of three ways: a) dump and revive B) Big Wave Small Wave C) Tribute Summon (preferably while ALO is active). Throw in the fact that you can (and may want to) use three Levias in the same Deck and ODL should be one of the easiest to summon Nomis in existence. ODL’s main effect is extremely similar to that of the monster needed Special Summon it and a monster sentenced to death long ago. By sending an Umi (or ALO) on your side of the field to the Graveyard, all cards in both players’ hands and on the field (except for ODL) are sent to the Graveyard. The effect, as has already been said, is combination of the effects of both Levia-Dragon and the dreaded CED. It is CED in the sense that both players’ current resources are eliminated, but Levia-Dragon in the sense that you still have a monster after the effect has resolved. This mix of effects gives you a free opportunity to blindly attack the opponent directly with a 2900 ATK once (and possibly 2-3 times considering how lucky you are) without worrying about what cards your opponent is waiting to use. So if lady luck is on your side, ODL could single handedly win the Duel for you. All in all, ODL is a very neat monster that could prove extremely useful in a WATER Deck. Just make sure you’ve got enough Levias in your Deck to take full advantage of the effect. Advanced (WATER Deck): 4.5/5. Chainable Traps are declining in usage, making ODL all that more effective. Traditional (WATER Deck): 4.5/5. If CED works, why shouldn’t ODL? Overall (WATER Deck): 4.5/5. Art: 3.5/5. It for some reason looks like something out of Power Rangers.
dawnyoshi	Ocean Dragon Lord- Neo- Daedalus is the big "Timmy" monster of the "Fury of the Deep" structure deck. It also requires you to tribute a perfectly worthwhile water monster to special summon this guy. It also requires "Umi" to be effective. It's also a nomi monster. Oh, right.there's something positive to this effect. If you pull off summoning Daedalus, then you wipe away everything in a Chaos Emperor Dragon-ish fashion, with your Daedalus remaining. But the odds of drawing this guy and summoning it through sacrificing another two-tribute monster are horrendous. The bottom line is that this card is not worth your deck space. Don't touch it unless absolutely necessary. After making contact with this card, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water afterwards. Traditional: 1/5 Advanced: 1/5 Limited: X/5 (structure decks are not used in official sealed play as of yet) Tournament Pack Season 6 was revealed only a few short weeks ago. Within the contents of this set are three new holofoil cards.actually, it's more along the lines of five new volume set monsters, since all three holo cards will be released in Dark Beginnings 2. Bummer.
Dark Paladin	Well, yesterday we looked at the crappy Ultra from the new Structure decks. Today, we look at the good one! Ocean Dragon-Lord Neo-Daedalus Level 8 Sea-Serpent/Effect 2900-1600 Now, as I said, this card is simply incredible as I'll show you. The Good: 2900 attack which is outmatched by almost everything which makes this card almost worthy of two tributes if only because of attack alone. This card when summoned if you send Umi to the Graveyard sends all cards on the field AND in both players hands to the Graveyard. That leaves your opponent open for a 2900 direct attack which could definately spell game WIN for you. The Bad: There's no where NEAR as much bad as yesterday's card. I only really see two downsides. First, even with A Legendary Ocean, Neo-Daedalus is still two tributes as the card only becomes Level 7. You could use Cost Down and make him Level 5 but it's up to you. The only other bad thing is that you lose your hand too, but, if you're going to win thanks to the 2900 direct attack, it's not the end of the world. Now, I see this coming down to the question of do I need to run Levia Dragon-Daedalus AND Neo-Daedalus in my water deck. Since too many tributes is not a good thing, I think you've got to prioritize and decide the following: Do I want to keep my hand and tribute 1 monster for a 2600 attack from Levia or... Do I want to lose my hand and tribute 2 monsters for a 2900 attack from Neo So, I've got to say that Levia is better than Neo if only because of one less tribute despite 300 less attack points. However, that doesn't mean Neo isn't good too. Ratings: Traditional: 2.5/5 Traditional A Legendary Ocean deck: 4.2/5 Advanced: 3.0/5 Advanced A Legendary Ocean deck: 5/5 Overall Rating: 3.3/5 Art: 4.0/5 This is a cool picture You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
Otaku	Stats : Ocean Dragon Lord – Neo-Daedalus is the new Ultra Rare from the new Ocean’s Fury Structure Deck. Being a Level 8 Monster would make it hard to summon, except (as the corrected text mentions) this card can only be Special Summoned by offering a Levia-Dragon – Daedalus. More on that later. Being a Water Monster is pretty good: quite a bit of support is available. Being a Sea-Serpent is… rare. The downside is that means less support, but on the bright side it also means that this card has less competition in this regard. Ocean Dragon Lord- Neo-Daedalus has a very nice 2900 ATK though a somewhat puny 1600 DEF. Given how hard it is to summon, the attack is adequate, but the DEF is somewhat lacking. Like yesterday’s card, it comes down to whether the effect will make it worth running, or also be sub-par. Effect(s) : After factoring in the errata, the first part of this card’s text says that it can only be Special Summoned, and only via its effect. That is right; it’s a Nomi Monster. This really hurts the card, since the only way to summon it is by offering a large, Level 7 Water/Serpent with an effect that is just as good. At least A Legendary Ocean means you can offer just one Tribute for Levia-Dragon – Daedalus. Still, in the end, it means a lot of effort to get this into play. The second effect is that you can send Umi to the Graveyard in order to nuke all other cards on the field and discard all cards in each player’s hand. Personally, I don’t find this too great. It is a decent finisher, but for such a specific combo? All you are blocking then is Kuriboh. Wait, why not use it earlier? Compulsory Evacuation Device, Ring of Destruction, Raigeki Break… while not seen in every deck, they are common enough, and make using Ocean Dragon Lord – Neo-Daedalus’s effect as anything but a finisher risky. Aside from chainable Monster removal, think about what happens if they top deck Monster Removal. Great, now both of you are top decking. No thanks. Uses and Combinations : Showboating. ;) In all seriousness, if you don’t mind the risk, it can be quite devastating forcing your opponent into “top-deck mode” when you have a 2900 ATK monster on the field. Ratings Traditional : 1/5-Why run this instead of Chaos Emperor Dragon? Why risk top-decking in a format renown for broken cards? Advanced : 3/5-For decks running Levia-Dragon – Daedalus already. Limited : 4.5/5-This assumes you are running some sort of Structure Draft Limited event. It isn’t as risky forcing both players into top-deck mode here. Summary I don’t much care for this card, but that’s because not only does it involve a game mechanic I don’t like, but it is so hard to use. Better that then a “new” Chaos Emperor Dragon.
