ExMinion OfDarkness	Toon Cannon Soldier It has a pro and a con over the original, however I feel the con outweighs the pro. Pro: Can attack directly if it has Toon World. Gets under Messenger of Peace, but not G-Bind or Level Limit. Con: Can't attack the turn it is summoned. I'd rather be able to topdeck something and attack on the same turn. Despite it still being able to launch on its summoned turn, I think attacking is more important. It could be a good finisher in a Toon deck but that's about it. Again, sorry for the short review, but except for ODL on Tuesday, I don't see a lot of this week's choices seing play. 1/5 Traditional 2.5/5 Advanced Toon deck
Coin Flip	Toon Cannon Soldier is a staple in Reversal of Worlds and Scientist FTK. Elsewhere, why bother? In Toon decks, Cannon Soldier is easier to get (for now) and can attack, as well as being just as easily searchable (well, almost) as the Toon equivalent. In standard decks, why the hell would you use this when you gain no advantage from it being a Toon? If you have it, sell it. It'll be common in Dark Beginnings 2, as will Toon Cannon Soldier and Fusion Sage. Once it is common, there will be some ludicrous fun with Scientist FTK. And with Reversal of Worlds FTK, once that finally gets released. General: 1/5 Traditional and Advanced Toon: 2/5 Traditional 2.3/5 Advanced FTK: Damn Good/5 4.5/5 Traditional and Advanced
Lord Tranorix	Toon Cannon Soldier I really like this card; it’s my favorite Toon and quite possibly has the most rentsy artwork in the game. Being a big Burn fan (and thus a big fan of Cannon Soldier), Toon Cannon Soldier is another logical favorite. He’s a Class C Toon, like Toon Gemini Elf and Toon Goblin Attack Force (meaning he doesn’t need Toon World on the field to be summoned but can only attack directly through monsters if it is on the field; he can’t attack the turn he’s summoned; he counts as a Normal Summon; and, unfortunately, if Toon World is destroyed while he’s on the field, he’ll die). He has the same stats and effect as the original CS: nothing great (1400 isn’t good for a Level 4) but enough to do damage if need be. Being able to launch monsters for 500 damage is always nice. Scapegoat, being a great tool for Toon Decks (since you can sacrifice them to summon higher-level Toons), works very well with Toon Cannon Soldier as you can just launch off the Sheep Tokens you don’t need anymore. He’s also very nice to use with Toon Index for deck thinning: play Toon Index, Toon Index, Toon Index and get Toon Cannon Soldier; summon and launch him. You now have four cards in the Graveyard (to do whatever you want with) and you’ve done a nice little 500 damage. I’d run him in a Toon Deck but there’s little reason to run him elsewhere, as the regular Cannon Soldier is just better for everything else. Snapper	Toon Cannon Soldier Our final card this week is Toon Cannon Soldier, a Toon Deck’s best Burn card. Toon CS is a carbon copy of the original CS; it’s got 1400 ATK making it a standard attack monster. It’s also a Machine, enabling it to be used in conjunction with Limiter Removal, which will cause its ATK to double. Of course Toon CS will die at the end of the turn, but that’s where its effect comes in. (I’m going under the assumption you know the effect of the original CS, because you should.) So you just use Limiter Removal to double Toon CS’s ATK, attack with it, and then launch itself at the opponent to do an extra 500 points of damage to the opponent. Unlike the original CS, Toon CS comes with a Toon-Type effect (I wonder why?). To learn what this effect is (in case you don’t already know) go read the third “paragraph” of my Toon Gemini Elf or Toon Goblin Attack Force review, and plug in Toon CS where appropriate. All in all, Toon CS is probably one of the most useful Toons available, specifically due to its Burn ability. P.S. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, if I specify a Deck for my rating then that means that the card is nearly useless outside of the specified Deck. Enjoy your three-day weekend! Advanced (Toon Deck): 4.5/5. The only reason it gets such a high score is due to the lack of other low Level Toons. Traditional (Toon Deck): 4.5/5. See Advanced. Overall (Toon Deck): 4.5/5. Art: 3/5. Some monsters look better when they get Toonatized, but not CS!
dawnyoshi	Toon Cannon Soldier. Some may say this monster is useless in that it pales in comparison to its non-toon counterpart. I believe that this is completely false. Cannon Soldier has seen key play in a variety of combo decks, including the first turn kill utilizing Dark Magician of Chaos, Cannon Soldier/Mass Driver, Spell Economics, and Dimension Fusion. It has also seen serious Exodia play, as it allows for quick use of Sangan and Emissary of the Afterlife (it also triggers Last Will quickly). Technically, Toon Cannon Soldier can be seen as BETTER than the original cannon soldier for these decks. This is because of yesterday's card, Toon Table of Contents. Not only can Toon Table of Contents fit into these mentioned deck themes, as it thins their decks and puts them closer to their goals, but it gives you instant and immediate access to the monster-launcher that you need. This allows you to run only one copy of Toon Cannon Soldier, as you have numerous chances of drawing the card needed to add it to your hand. This card lacks a good deal of play in traditional, but it's a fantastic card for the advanced format and limited play. It's in many ways better than the original Cannon Soldier and will definitely be overlooked by quite a few duelists. For those of you anxious to try this card out, you don't have to worry! This card will be cheaper once Dark Beginnings 2 is released! =D Traditional: 2/5 Advanced: 3.5/5 Limited: 3.5/5
Otaku	Stats : We have a Level 4 Dark/Machine… Toon. Hello! Level 4 Monsters are wonderfully easy to Summon. Dark Monsters have a lot of support, including the ever important aspect of being Chaos food. Machine’s have some wonderful support as well. The Toon aspect was just shown to finally be a good thing yesterday now that they have their own search card. Back all this up with a 1400 ATK, making it so Toon Cannon Soldier is capable of slipping under Messenger of Peace, and a 1300 DEF, so Last Will, Mystic Tomato, Sangan, and Witch of the Black Forest can all search for this. Effect(s) : This is a Type C Toon. That means that it can make use of Toon World, allowing it to attack directly if your opponent doesn’t control a Toon, is destroyed if Toon World is destroyed, and can’t attack the turn it is Summoned. You can avoid all but the inability to attack after being Summoned by simply not playing Toon World. It is your call. Then there is a second effect, the same effect as a normal Cannon Soldier: offer a Monster on your side of the field as Tribute to inflict 500 points of burn damage. Pretty sweet. Uses and Combinations : Replace or supplement your old copies Cannon Soldier in Magical Scientist FTKO decks. If you chose to use both Toon and non-Toon versions, plus Toon Table of Contents, almost a fourth your deck will (essentially) be Cannon Soldier. Of course, I don’t run those decks, so that might be a bit too much for them. That is really the main use of this card. You could stick it in a Machine deck in place of the original Cannon Soldier. For one thing, Cannon Soldier rarely attacks, so that part of the effect is somewhat negligible. If you did though, you could use Toon World with Limiter Removal for a very sick direct attack. Ratings Traditional : 3.5/5-Magical Scientist has a new friend. Advanced : 3/5-This is a general rating: it is a solid Monster. In a deck type that can make use of its characteristics, it is more potent. Summary Improving upon the original, this card is basically an easier to search Cannon Soldier with some extra tricks. Dare I say it? I think we have a very rentsy card.
Dark Paladin	Friday Restructer Revolution Normal Spell Inflict 200 points of damage to your opponent for every card in your opponent's hand. Well, this card isn't very good, at least in my opinion on accounts if your opponent doesn't have a very big hand, you're doing little to no damage whatsoever. As stated, the card does 200 points of direct damage for each card in your opponents hand. However, this card, as previously stated, is dependent on the number of cards in your opponents hand. So, lets take a look at that. 1 card = 200 points 2 cards = 400 points 3 cards = 600 points 4 cards = 800 points 5 cards = 1000 points and so on Though, there are other cards that can do more damage or better amounts and only require the cards themselves. Such as Ookazi and even Poison of the Old Man. The card isn't terrible, I somehow even have one and it's a Duelist League promo.
