Reviewer's Choice:
Bazoo the Soul-Eater
Come on, we all saw this coming. A new cookie-cutter
shows up at the SJC; I HAVE to use my Reveiwer's
Choice on it.
Most of us played this card before its errata; a
4-star 2500 powerhouse that could take out Jinzo and
actually STAY at 2500 for several turns, only
stopping when there wasn't a single card in the
Graveyard. Now, it can still be good thanks to
Return from the Different Dimension.
Everyone who's been watching Metagame.com this past
week knows of it, but basically it's Bazoo, remove
3, Return from the Different Dimension to swarm with
all, gg. But there are some lesser known combos with
it...
*If one of your removed monsters for Bazoo was Jinzo,
you can use Return from the Different Dimension to
negate an opponent's Trap card. It does seem like
Jinzo is messing with your strategy when you're
running 3 RFtDD in addition to your normal Trap
lineup, but it makes sense this way.
*If one of your monsters was Exiled Force, then you
can use X-Force's effect in your Main 2, sacrificing
itself to kill another and keeping BOTH safe from
going back to the RFG pile again. Bonus points if
the other monster was Sangan and you ended up
getting a search doing this.
Expect this to start showing up card for card in
other major events soon, along with the counters to
it. Royal Decree didn't need another excuse to see
more play but it just got one. The 5-trap build of
3x Decree, Call, and Torrential just might be more
prevalent with this deck's use on the rise. But
don't get me wrong, if played right this deck can
get around that.
In case I couldn't make it any more clear:
NETDECK PAUL LEVITIN (after you fix up Metagame's
two mistakes on his decklist and put in the Trap
Hole and Exiled Force that were omitted there.)

Happy Thanksgiving! Today we have a reviewer's
choice, in honor of this holiday. So, I decided we
should all be able to review whatever the hell we
wanted.
I choose to review Marshmallon, a card we don't yet
have in English, but a card I definately have a
fondness for and would like to see released. (A
great card in DS for Yugioh also.)
Marshmallon
Level 3
Fairy-Light
300-500
Effect: This card is not destroyed as a result of
battle (damage calculation is applied normally).
When this card is attacked while in face down
defense posistion, the controller of the card who
attacked this card takes 1000 points of direct
damage.
Now, while having suchcrappy stats, Marshmallon
isn't going to win any contests, but he isn't used
for attacking. Obviously, he's used for the burn
effect. He's searchable by Sangan and Shining Angel
(good) and he can't be destroyed as a result of
battle (good).
Marshmallon will be used in the Anime in this final
season of Yugioh by Yugi in his duel vs. the Pharoh
for all you cartoon fans out there.
Marshmallon is an excellent burn and stall card, but
you have to watch out for tramplers. With only 500
defense, it is very vulnerable to Airknight Parshath,
Enraged Battle Ox, Exarion Universe, and others.
Now, if that weren't enough with a nice 1000 point
burn, Marshmallon can be targeted by cards and not
so easily destroyed say as Spirit Reaper could be.
I would expect this card to be used and abused (and
restricted for that
matter) if we ever see Marshmallon hit the U.S.
shores and with good reason. In the traditional
format, this card is even more powerful, if only
because it becomes a powerful extra light and Chaos
food.
Ratings:
Traditional: 4/5 Chaos food, powerful burn, can't be
destroyed by battle.
Advanced: 4.8/5 Still a great card, even without
chaos.
Art: 5/5 I love it.
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Legendary Jujitsu Master
LJM has been a personal favorite of mine for a
while. Why? The main reason
is the pressure it can cause to know you're going to
have:
1.) Dead Draw
2.) Possible Re-Draw of a Tribute
3.) Possible Re-Draw of a Useless Monster
4.) Game Loss
Why do I give it so much credit? Simple. The
"damage" it deals can be advantageous is various
ways. By giving your opponent Re-Draws you give them
no possible way out of a situation given the fact
they draw no new card. I find it mildly sexy
stat-wise as well. 1300/1800 3 star is hot for a
Level 3 and lower deck. It's also Rock, you could
play it there if you chose to. Not really my thing.
I run it in my Camel Control as tech, you may find
uses for it elsewhere.
Traditional: 2/5 (Nah...)
Advanced: 3.95/5 (Given correct circumstances, it
CAN be better)
Casual: 3/5 (Eh..play it in Rock, Disruption, 3 and
Lower deck..whatever...)

Otaku |
I love Thanksgiving. It’s a day to reflect upon
what all you have to be grateful for. Sadly,
many think it’s just a day where some poor,
innocent bird is slaughtered and people eat too
much. These people think this because either
they have never learned the true meaning behind
the holiday, or they just want a reason to bad
mouth everyone else. Though people do tend to
overeat as it is a “feast” based holiday. To
combat this, Otaku recommends lots of activity
and pacing one’s self. Its one of the things
that makes Thanksgiving so grand: getting
together with friends and family, reflecting
upon one’s blessings from God (unless you don’t
believe in Him, of course), and enjoy the day.
The only big deal is the meal. Therefore, you
have plenty of time to catch up on things, and
as suggested earlier, go have some fun playing
games and other activities.
Okay, I’ve had my serious bit, now it’s time for
the joke.
*watches five remaining readers run away
screaming*
I suppose it is cruel of me: first I give a
little sermon and then I threaten you with
torture.
Anyway, sometimes you are stuck with visitors
you don’t want, but have to not only put up
with, but welcome. Sounds like some hit you
with Ojama Trio.
Name:
Ojama Trio
Type:
Normal Trap
Effect(s):
Special Summon 3 "Ojama Tokens"
(Beast-Type/LIGHT/2 Stars/ATK 0/DEF 1000) in
Defense Position on your opponent's side of
the field. The tokens cannot be used as a
Tribute for a Tribute Summon. When an "Ojama
Token" is destroyed, inflict 300 points of
damage to the controller's Life Points.
I’ve been told that the term “Ojama” can be
thought of as “polite intruder”. According to
my Japanese-English dictionary, the “jama” part
means “burden, disturbance, hindrance”, which is
a pretty apt description… but that assumed the
“O” is a prefix. So neither of these might be
good for literal translations of the word… they
do fit the card’s effect.
Before we delve into that, let me apologize for
serving “leftovers” for Thanksgiving. We have
reviewed this card twice before: click
here for the first time and
here for the second, more recent review.
Those old reviews, as a whole, cover this card
pretty well. So I’ll focus on what new reason
you have to play it: Ojamuscle. This is
a new Normal Spell we’ll be looking at next week
in more detail. When you use it, you select a
face up Ojama King on your side of the
field and destroy all other Monsters on the
field that include Ojama in their names.
Then our royal hindrance gets +1000 ATK for each
of the little buggers you nuked. Guess what?
It’s the whole field. This includes your
opponent’s side. So Ojama Trio is an
easy +3000 ATK, and you still get 900 points of
burn from the rest of Ojama Trio’s
effect. Unless you are fiendishly clever and
kill one token to then lock your opponent down
with a double Ojama Trio. Then it’s
+5000 ATK and 1500 points of burn damage. Plus,
that means your opponent can’t have had any
Monsters in play, so now you’re looking at a
direct attack. Oh, what’s that? Ojama King
has his own effect that locks down Monster
Zones? Well, his effect is null and void if
their Zones are already filled… which is great
since that means the above combo still works
while you have the option to go for a smaller
2000 damage (Ojama Trio on an empty
field, Summon Ojama King, lock down the
two remaining zones, Ojama Muscle when
ready. Oh, and Ojama Muscle’s ATK
increase lasts until that Ojama King
remains face-up on the field.
I have to stop there, since there won’t be
anything left to review for next week if I go on
much longer. Oh yes, there is more. Soon,
Ojama decks will rule… okay, maybe not
“rule”, but they’ll be a good deal more
competitive.
Ratings
Traditional :
2/5-This may seem high, but no open Monster
Zones means your opponent can’t summon Chaos
Monsters. It also gives your own Chaos Monsters
more time to materialize. What, to my
knowledge, this situation is still the same.
Advanced :
3.75/5-It’s an okay card in general (previous
CotDs I linked to detail how to abuse it for
burn/control), and it definitely is disruptive.
Limited :
4/5-Seriously, just two Monster Zone slots.
That means at worst two beatsticks pounding on
you when you’re losing.
Summary
Yes, I love this card. I shouldn’t, but I do.
Personally, I think they look like me. Yes, I
have a negative self-image.

Today is Turkey
Day!
I want to give a shout out to...myself. For cooking
one ZOMGWTFAMAZING turkey breast today, that makes
for hardcore good Turkey Leftover Sandwichs =].
Today's
choice is Reviewers Choice, and I pick Freed The
Brave Wanderer.
[LIGHT/WARRIOR]
Remove 2 LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard from play
to destroy 1 face-up monster on the field with
higher ATK than this card. You can only use this
effect once per turn.
ATK/1700 DEF/1200
Omg, how freaking hot is that?
Its effect is you remove 2 LIGHT monsters to destroy
a monster on the field with a higher ATK than it.
This effect can prove useful in a plethora of
situations found in your typical Yugioh match, but
it would be better if it was EQUAL or Higher, but
then it would be so freaking good its not even
funny.
I made a deck with 3 Cyber Dragons, 1/2 Zaborgs,
Blade Knight, a Merchant or 2, and a MoF with your
usually other standard lights like DDWL, threw in
DDS, and some DDA's, RftDD, and there you have it. A
extremely teched out Toolbox.
When you have Royal Decree, RftDD, tons of monster
removal, and the extremely good toolbox elements
included, if ran right, it can be THE deck to beat.
Overall, you need the right support for the card,
and most decks already pack 4/5 lights, so it wont
be too hard. It has a solid effect, can be amazing
at the right times, I wouldnt run more than 1 or 2,
most of the time ;x.
Traditional: You have both chaos monsters, why do
you need this?
Constructed: 3/5 VERY solid.
Limited: 4/5.

Happy
Thanksgiving! All of the Reviewers will get to pick
their own choice
today. So for today I picked a new and great tech
coming to decks called Zaborg the Thunder Monarch.
Zaborg has always been called one of the least
playable Monarchs of Yu-gi-oh! but with this new
Elemental Format coming, things change.
Everyone has figured out that Mobius the Frost
Monarch gives a great amount of card advantage if
the opponent doesn't activate anything as a
response. Same with Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch
to create a quick way of evening out or gaining card
advantage.
But with the chill down everyone's spine about
Elemental Energy, the hand has became an area where
players don't go to risk their card's.
Cards such as Goldd or Silva will take instant card
advantage from the opponent that just wanted that
extra card with Spirit Reaper or Don Zaloog.
Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch will be no more and
the new Monarch, Zaborg the Thunder Monarch will be
given a chance.
Zaborg's stats are as great as any other Monarch
with the 2400 attack and the dangerous 1000 defense.
Zaborg's effect is when it gets tribute summoned you
must destroy one monster on the field. Giving you
the card advantage, like you would with Thestalos
but safer this time.
But you must be careful to see if your opponent has
a monster for you to destroy, if not your Monarch
will be destroyed and your opponent will simply
laugh. Zaborg is a Light monster for the powerful
and newly played Chaos Sorcerer. This will make your
options for making this Monarch useful even after it
is destroyed.
The current Metagame player is using many Spirit
Reapers, even up to three. Zaborg will be one of the
best bets against this commonly played defense.
The new Dark Realm monsters won't stand a chance
with their attack of 2300 is topped with the 2400 of
Zaborg. Zaborg can destroy the mysterious face down
cards that will hurt your game such as Morphing Jar,
Cyber Jar, Magical Merchant, or even Gravekeeper's
Spy.
Soul Exchange will tribute one of your opponent's
monsters and than destroy an other monster when used
with Zaborg. Zaborg is a great new way of answering
the upcoming Metagame. Zaborg is reliable and can be
a great new tribute that can answer bad situations.
Traditional: 2.5/5.0
Advanced: 4.0/5.0
Soul Control: 5.0/5.0
When the Monarchs control the field and the Dark
Realm finally come out to play, the Realm will get
slapped.
