Earthquake
Earthquake’s a decent card. It’s a Normal Spell that
changes all face-up monsters on the field into
face-up DEF position. I can think of a few
situations in which this would be useful.
1) Your opponent has Berserk Gorilla on the field.
Play Earthquake, and shazam! It’s dead.
2) You have a Dream Clown or Blade Rabbit on the
field. Play Earthquake, and shazam! A monster on
your opponent’s side of the field is dead.
3) Your opponent has a strong monster. Play
Earthquake, and shazam! It’s in DEF now. You should
have an easier time killing it in battle.
I’m sure there’s more, but hey, that’s all I can do
right now. This is a nice choice for Clown Control
Decks (which, trust me, are actually rather playable
now – try Stumbling). Elsewhere, it’s not nearly as
effective.
Clown Control: 3.5/5

Earthquake
Hello, Windstorm of Etaqua in spell form. Kinda.
With the new position rulings, this card doesn't
TOTALLY suck (but there are still better uses of a
card spot.) Everything goes to DEF, then you shift
your monsters back and run over your opponent's
low-Defense monsters. Problem is that Smashing
Ground could just kill one of those monsters
outright, and unless your opponent has two big
monsters you can't get rid of normally, this will
never net you any advantage. And how often will your
opponent have TWO big monsters out at the same time?
Never, if they're smart, fearing the Dark Hole.

Earthquake is great against cards that have low DEF.
Since you can switch your monsters back on the same
turn, this card is slightly better than the crap it
was before. Unfortunately, Windstorm of Etaqua (and
Zero Gravity) are both better.

Earthquake
Today's card is Earthquake, another one-sentence
Spell Card. Yeah!
When Earthquake is activated, all face-up monsters
are switched to Defense Position. Don't you just
love simple effects like this? I know I do; they
allow me to procrastinate on homework for at least
an extra hour, which therefore gives me an extra
hour to… get a tan?
Anywho, Earthquake puts all monsters into what is
most likely their weakest state, making them easier
to destroy, increasing the amount of damage piercing
monsters can do, possibly destroying the monster (if
it's Berserk Gorilla), and so on. But best of all,
it works with such wonderful cards as Blade Rabbit,
Dream Clown, Tainted Wisdom, Tragedy, and Yado Karu.
And given how useful some of those cards can be,
Earthquake can be potentially useful. Potentially.
Overall, Earthquake is a nice card to use when
you're in need of easier to destroy monsters or
flipping one of your own monsters face-down simply
wouldn't work. In most case though, if you're in
dire need of an effect like the one Earthquake
provides, you'd probably be better off using Zero
Gravity, which can be used during the opponent's
turn, brings defenders out of their element and
consequently allow you to do massive damage, and so
on.
Advanced: 2.5/5. It's useful, but for the time being
it's unnecessary (we do have 3 Book of Moons after
all…)
Traditional: 2/5. I'd definitely prefer Zero
Gravity.
Overall: 2.25/5.
Art: 3/5. So goblins were the reason for Rome's
downfall? I knew it! And look! The ground knows it
too! It's shaking with enough anger to suggest that
there's some kind of tremor going on.

EARTHQUAKE! Don't panic, it's just our card for
today. Earthquake is a very simple card, all face up
monsters are changed to defense posistion.
Not a terrible card, but not all that useful either.
Switch something strong with a weak defense to
defense in order to kill it easier (Goblin Attack
Force, V-Lord, Phoenix, Jinzo, Monarchs, etc...)
2/5 all *sighs again*
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Earthquake
SPELL
Normal
All face-up monsters on the field are changed to
Defense Position.
This is an interesting little spell that got no love
from the moment it hit shelves. It’s ability to make
cards like Asura Priest better is pretty cool. How
so? This card let’s Asura Priest get by Jinzo,
Airknight Parshath, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer,
etc...
What else makes it good? It can kill Berserk
Gorilla’s that are on the field (assuming they are
the opponent’s). It also help Trample decks get to
the low defenses easier so cards like Exarion
Universe and Enraged Battle Ox have an easier time
dealing damage.
Why isn’t it that good? Because it is a combo based
card that needs other cards to work. That right
there kills playability. It’s basically a 1 for 0
unless it hits Berserk Gorilla’s. That’s why Asura
Priest is a great card to use with this because the
advantage standpoint shows that you lose Earthquake
while they lose multiple creatures, generating
possible 2 for 3 or 2 for 4 situations.
Overall, it isn’t the best card out there combo
wise, but it is a decent card that could be
considered rentsy by Lord Tranorix.
Trad. Rating: 1/5 (Not enough room in this format
unless you feel like having fun, like me)
Adv. Rating: 2.5/5 (Could be better than you think
if you play your cards right)
Draft Rating: 2.5/5 (Depends on the pulls, really.
Big beatdown creatures would love this)
Artwork Rating: 4/5 (Who doesn’t love GAF’s getting
owned?)
