Magic Cylinder
I actually don't see this card as being a winner in
the new format. Given that Light/Dark is thrown out
the window, I think we'll see more of the Mobii/Bottomless
war, and with the Mobii around and people ALREADY
having Ring as a source of burn that automatically
goes into every deck, a -1 that deals damage doesn't
look as appealing.
Having said that, a deck that runs this in addition
to Ring (and possibly even Ceasefire) has a trio of
ways that can easily take out more than half of an
opponent's Life Points without even attacking. It
may be overkill, and lead to lost games if the
opponent MSTs/Storms/etc. without you getting the
full benefit of your burn cards, but decks that
focus on the stall/burn will still run this in
addition to the other two.
Rating: 3/5 -- average until someone at an SJC
proves otherwise.

Magic Cylinder is our third burn card this week. I
had Exiled Force set for this slot, and this card
for Friday, but Exiled was reviewed about a month
ago, so I decided to put another card in for Friday.
Cylinder negates an attack and does damage. In the
words of Austin Powers, "Whoop de doo, Bazzle, but
what does it all mean?" Cylinder was a mediocre tech
card last format. It occasionally killed a Reaper
and saved someone's ass from an onslaught of Cyber
Dragon + Monarch/Sorc. The cool thing was that on
top of putting people out of Stein, it occasionally
killed a Spirit Reaper and even did the finishing
blow to someone.
What changed that made this card super duper awesome
and worth a second look? The format. People are
skeptical now, but I expect a lot more of tech'd
Cylinders later on in the format. It's not just
seeing Ring back, but seeing triple Reflect Bounder.
One Ring might do 1600 or 2100, or, hell, 2400
damage by itself (maybe less), but two Rings (one
from each player) can take out half your life easy.
Add in a Magic Cylinder and it would take one good
push to end the game. Thank your lucky stars that
they banned Snatch Steal and Sorcerer to prevent
gank rushes. Tech it. Try it out. You will like it.

Magic Cylinder:
Attacks will still be bounced. Damage will still be
dealt. Decree will be flipped.
The original form of Reflect Bounder in easy to
carry trap form is likely to see play as an answer
to Chimeritech (also, I appologise for my review of
that.
I hadn't heard of the OTK until ExMinion mentioned
it). Other than that, this is a -1 that does damage.
OK, that damage could be game ending, but it depends
how much you think a card is worth. Use this to
bounce a Cyber Dragon and it probably is. Less so
for a D.D.WL.

Advanced: 4/5

Magic Cylinder ;
Until recently, Magic cylinder’s use had all but
disappeared, until now that it.
The new list has given Magic Cylinder a new lease on
life, with the popularity of Chimeratech and Stein
escalating every day. Arguably the perfect counter,
and a great card to shove in your side deck. Magic
Cylinder hits hard , right where it counts.
The important factor to realise is that the moment
the opponents lp hit 5000 their strategy is ruined.
With that in mind, this thing rocks, especially when
combined with ring.
The only drawback with this is that its very unchain
able, and does nothing to the actual monster who’s
attack it negates, thereby really just delaying the
inevitable. Still, not bad for a lp hit that could
hurt return considerably, as well as Stein. My
advice, use it when you can, it might not last too
long.
Traditional : 2/5
Advanced ; 3.5/5
Art : 4/5 Sweet huh?
MPS ; 4/5 I love this thing.

Magic Cylinder
is one of those cards that was originally
hyped a lot, fell out of favor, and now has
people excited again. For me, it’s one of
the default “burn cards” I include in every
deck… unless I have something better. That
may sound strange, but this is one of those
cards that will win you a few games. It
doesn’t belong in every deck, but if you
don’t have a good burn card (or good
Trampler) then this is something you should
really consider.
It doesn’t have to be in the Main Deck to
mess with your opponent: as long as you use
it one duel, the fear is there. It won’t
seem like much the first duel or early game,
the less LP your opponent has the more of a
concern it is.
On its own, it does swing a game in terms of
LP equal to twice the attacker’s ATK score
(you don’t take damage you should have and
they take the amount you would have most of
the time) in addition to preventing any
effects from direct attacks or LP damage.
Here’s where I actually start typing a new
paragraph: for some reason, people think
that all Cyber Stein players are
total n00bs and scrubs. Yes, Stein
is a tempting deck for a new player, since
it doesn’t take as much skill to win and
since you are depending on luck, it can get
you farther in a tournament than you
deserve. Still, a highly skilled player
wouldn’t benefit from it since they’d be
winning those games on skill anyway, and
running a luck
based deck then lowers their odds of
winning, since they lose games due to the
luck-based nature of the deck that they
would have won with a more skill oriented
deck. I can only assume that this is why
people forget that even some high level
players, when they are at big name
tournaments they probably aren’t good enough
to win, should consider it. I don’t like
OTK, but since Konami isn’t doing anything
about it… abuse it till they learn they need
to be three steps ahead of these kinds of
combos. Like a competent TCG maker.
Anyway, Stein normally clears the
field, Chimera probably will too or
else chain a Return to get a Jinzo
into play and both can do some other nasty
tricks too. From what I can tell, good
Stein decks pack some chainable LP gain.
Ratings
Traditional:
1/5-There’s just too much removal.
Advanced:
3.5/5-It’s a good card, and it can end
games. However, it is entirely dependant
upon your opponent and if it doesn’t end the
game then it only delays an opponent by a
turn or so. That can still be enough
though. If you want anti-OTK, there are
better choices. Use Cylinder for the
right reasons.

Magic Cylinder
Basic Summary: Wow really old school here, Now I'm
not sure if Cylinder will
see greater play since people like cards much like
Ring of Destruction which
destroys the card but if the new format is more
Aggro style then Magic Cylinder would be good to
consider in your sidedeck since 2100 from Cyber
Dragon or 2400 from Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys just
to name a few is amazing plus stops the attack but
to early to tell in my opinion if this card will be
really good
Conclusion: Try it out if it works for you then run
it but only time can
tell if we should dust off this old card :D
Traditional Format > 1/5: Why bother
Advance Format > 2/5: Sidedeck potential
Artwork > 3/5: I'm sure many remember this from the
TV show

Magic Cylinder
Today we look at another unplayable card, that will
be made playable in the Sept 1st format, Magic
Cylinder. Another one of my favorite cards that Ive
always wanted to play but couldnt cause it wasnt too
great. Anyways, the text on this card reads as
follows:
Magic Cylinder
Trap Card
Trap
Negate the attack of 1 of your opponent's monsters
and inflict Direct Damage equal to the attacking
monster's ATK to your opponent's Life Points.
So why does this card seem playable next format?
Mainly due to Stein, as its another way to punish a
bad player for using Stein wrong. It also lowers
them so they cant pay the 5000 to bring out
something.
You can also Cylinder big monsters, and get them
closer to 0 LP. And Im having a feeling that getting
your opponent to 0 wont be too hard this format with
all of these new decks that will be around. Again,
this, Ring, and Ceasefire will see alot of play
mainly due to Stein decks, and people "teching" 1
into their maindecks.
I highly recommend you main this, as it will be a
lifesaver for you.
Side-deck it at least against Stein.
Ratings -
Traditional: 2/5 - Maybe better choices.
Sept 1st Format - 4/5 - Good, very good card next
format.

Magic Cylinder: LON – EN104
Magic Cylinder is one of those cards that will pop
in and out of this game from time to time. It’s very
effective at what it was originally designed to do,
deal damage. This card really hurts. The Control
aficionados swear up and down that numerical
advantage is what count above all, yet cards like
Ring of Destruction and Magic Cylinder love to throw
that into their faces. Damage is what wins games.
Numerical advantage is a means to achieving that
end.
Magic Cylinder is perfect for metagames with a large
abundance of high ATK monsters. I can easily see
this card hitting the metagame again. It’ll help
against Cyber Dragon, Bazoo, Stein, and other
monstrosities from utterly destroying your Life
Points. This card coupled with Ring of Destruction
in most decks will force a scarcity of “teched”
Steins in random decks. To play Cyber Stein you’ll
be forced to play dedicated Stein deck to have a
greater win percentage with the card itself.
Last Word: Cylinder is good. It negates attacks,
makes your opponent tremble, and it is here to stay.
This card ends games. Use it.
