Today we look at the Fusion of everything we've
covered this week (exculding Monday). Cyber Dark
Dragon (who has nothing to do with Cyber Dragon) is
a very pitiful Fusion monster. It says play all
those crappy cards from earlier in the week for a
1000 attack and defense Level 8 Fusion monster.
Wait...if you have all 3 in your Graveyard, you will
be at 1300 attack points. He does gain a paltry 100
attack for each monster in your Graveyard, so you
don't want to use this except say, late game as a
finisher perhaps?
If you were to equip a Blue Eyes, he would have 4000
attack points plus whatever monsters were in your
Graveyard, but have fun. Try to build a deck around
this. In fact, if you have a deck idea for this
monster and the previous three, send it to me @

Yes, a low rating for another Fusion, but come on
guys.

Cyber Dark Dragon
My, a fusion monster that I like the effect of. How
rare.
It's big (really big when you put your mind to it),
and actually has a small amount of protection (from
battle). Sadly, it is still liable to Smashing
Ground, Sakuretsu Armor, MST, but heck, at least it
is a step in the right direction. However, I expect
that when we do get a fusion monster that is
reasonably difficult to kill, it will be a fusion of
Thousand Eyes Idol, Fusionist, Twin-Long Rods #2,
Cyber Dragon, and Baby Dragon and only be summonable
by fusion summon. Sigh.

Cyber Dark Dragon
The big daddy of them all. I personally do not think
he is superior to Cyber End Dragon, Cyber Twin
Dragon, or Overdragon. But he is still cool. Being a
fusion grants him an instant perfect score. Overload
fusion and future fusion almost guarantee his
summoning while providing us machines to use with
Overdragon. His stats are unimpressive for a 3 part
fusion, but they get bigger depending on if a dragon
(like Mondays cotd, Five-Headed Dragon) is in the
graveyard plus 100 for every other monster in the
graveyard. The fact his equip saves him and allows
him to remain on the field if destroyed through
battle is irrelevant simply because he will probably
die to a smashing ground. If he could equip to any
monster that would have been better. But all of this
is pointless for me to talk about.
He is a special summon that can provide itself with
impressive stats.

Cyberdark Dragon
I must be really out of the loop…I’ve been doing
next week’s Card Reviews instead of this week’s! ^_^
Today’s card is Cyberdark Dragon. He’s a part of the
Cyberdark series that hasn’t gotten ANY attention
since its release. I love his Union-like effect that
allows him to get two chances in battle. Most of the
Cyberdark monsters have that benefit along with an
effect that boosts their ATK potential to the lower
2000s. Cyberdark Dragon’s ATK potential is virtually
unlimited except that his summoning requirement
requires you to play the worst of the Cyberdark
creatures: Cyberdark Keel. As a consolation
Cyberdark Dragon can equip any Dragon-type when he
is Fusion Summoned. Nice.
Masked Dragon is the monster of choice for these ATK
boosting effects. You can use Twin-Headed as well.
It’s not about the ATK boosting effects that make
these monsters better than average; it’s their
efficiency in battle that appeals to me the most.
They have to be destroyed twice in battle. They’re
boosting effects are immune to Trap Hole, Bottomless
Trap Hole and make Torrential Tribute seem like a
waste.
Last Word: I like these monsters, but that Level 3
restriction is a pain. I’ve always wanted to play a
Dragon deck. I wonder how I can make it work. Hmm…

Fact Man |
Opps, I managed to mix up the order of the CyberDark
monsters this week. Silly me, I assumed they would
go in order of card # not alphabetically. Give me a
break; I?m new at this COTD thing. Anyway, if you
haven?t figured it out yet, today I will be
reviewing CyberDark Dragon.
He?s the big daddy of the CyberDark family, and like
Monday?s card he?s a Nomi Fusion monster that can
only be Fusion Summoned. The fusion materials are
the 3 CyberDark monsters from the last 3 days,
CyberDark Horn, Edge and Keel.
Much like the other CyberDark monster his printed
stats are low, a measly 1000 Attack and 1000
Defense.
He is a Level 8 dark monster, so even after he gets
pumped up by his effects he still can?t hurt or
destroy 5 Headed Dragon.
Oh yeah, about those effects:
1. This monster cannot be Special Summoned except by
Fusion Summon.
So like 5 Headed Dragon, you can not Special Summon
CyberDark Dragon EXCEPT BY FUSION SUMMON even if it
was Fusion Summoned properly. Nuff said.
2. When this monster is Special Summoned, select 1
Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard and equip it
to this card. This card gains Attack equal to the
equipped card's Attack.
Unlike the other CyberDark monsters, CD Dragon is
not restricted to using only level 3 or lower
Dragons, but can equip to the vast legion of
humongous Dragons available today, but, of course,
there must be a Dragon-Type monster available in
your graveyard, so a nice counter is chaining
disappear to this effect, removing the targeted
Dragon from play thus negating that attack boost.
Provided you a Dragon still in the graveyard when
this effect resolves, you can make use of those huge
Nomi Dragon-Type monsters that you spent all those
resources to get to the field that were destroyed so
very easily.
Great targets include: Horus Lv6, 2300 Atk; King
Dragun, 2400 Atk; Armed Lv7, 2800 Atk; Horus Lv8;
3000 Atk; Blue Eyes, 3000 Atk; Eyes Ultimate Dragon,
4500 atk; 5 Headed Dragon, 5000 Atk; Dragon Master
Knight, 5000 Atk.
This will raise his attack anywhere from 1500 to
5000 points. As I stated earlier in the week, this
equipped monster is prone to S/T removal; UDE in an
effort to shorten card text has left out the fact
that the equipped monster is treated as an equip
magic card.
So, feel free to MST/Dust the equipped Dragon when
CD Dragon attacks for some turnabout where the
attacker?s monster is destroyed and your opponent
takes damage instead of you. If this effect didn?t
make him big enough he has an additional attack
boost.
3. This card gains 100 ATK for each Monster Card in
your Graveyard.
This will give him an additional 300 to 2000 attack
boost that adjusts as monsters are added or removed
from the graveyard. This can be a blessing (Graceful
Charity) or a curse (disappear, Soul release)
4. If this card would be destroyed in battle, the
equipped monster is destroyed instead.
So like the other CyberDark monsters that I reviewed
earlier in the week, he is protected from dying in
battle once (like that is going to happen), but is
not protected from non-targeting or even targeting
destruction effects, as he would be if equipped with
a Heavy Mech Support Platform.
Unlike 5 Headed Dragon, there are 4 ways to get this
metal menace to the field.
1. Polymerization[NORMAL]/Fusion Gate[FIELD]
As I stated Monday, I do not like using Poly/Gate as
they use too many resources. However, unlike 5
Headed Dragon, you can use 1 fusion substitute to
Fusion Summon CyberDark Dragon.
2. Power Bond[NORMAL]
Send, from your hand or your side of the field to
the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are
listed on a Machine-Type Fusion Monster Card, and
Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Fusion
Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion
Summon).
Increase the ATK of this Special Summoned Fusion
Monster by an amount equal to its original ATK.
During the End Phase of this turn, the player who
activated this card takes damage equal to the
original ATK of the Special Summoned monster.
I checked the rulings, and if you use Power Bond to
bring this sucker out, its original attack will be
1000+100*(# of monster in Grave). This means that at
the end phase you will only take this damage and not
the final ?original Attack? of 1000 + 100*(# of
monster in Grave) + (Attack of equipped monster),
which should be between 1400 and 4900 Attack more. I
believe, although Power Bond says cards listed on
the Fusion-Type Monster, you can use one Fusion
substitute like you can with Miracle Fusion,
Overload Fusion, and Dragon Mirror.
3. Future Fusion[CONTINUOUS]
I love this card, for you do not waste resources
from the hand or field, beside Future Fusion, but
actually gain resources in the graveyard. Other than
the obvious fact that this card is prone to
destruction from S/Ts, it is slow and you can?t use
substitutes.
3. Overload Fusion[NORMAL SPELL]
Remove from play, from your side of the field or
your Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are
listed on a Dark Machine-Type Fusion Monster Card,
and Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your
Fusion Deck.
(This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon).
This card is the Dragon Mirror for Dark Machine-Type
Fusion monsters. So, if you already have any
combination of all 3 fusion material monsters or any
two and a substitute in your graveyard or on the
field you can get this metal monstrosity to the
field.
This guy has a one advantage over 5 Headed Dragon,
in that it can use 1 fusion substitute when
appropriate (OF, Power Bond, Poly/Gate). However,
there are so many Fusion Machine-Types that are more
powerful and easier to summon available to us today,
such as Cyber- End Dragon, Gatling Dragon,
Cyber-Twin Dragon, and Chimeratech OverDragon that
CyberDark Dragon will not be seeing much play
outside of fun decks.
I currently have both a Dragon Deck and a Machine
Deck that are very competitive; I wonder how it
would work if the were fused together?
Machine/Dragon Deck Advanced: 3.5 (alright, but
better choices are available)
Thanks for all the great feedback,
Fact Man
Bhret@yahoo.com
P.S. Feel free to send me your Machine/Dragon-type
deck with brief explanations to its use and combos
and I?ll see about posting the best one.
