Crisis
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This
card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect
of "Contract with Exodia". This card is not
destroyed as a result of battle or by the effects of
Spell or Trap Cards, and during each of your Standby
Phases, increase the ATK of this card by 500 points.
This card is destroyed when any of "Exodia the
Forbidden One", "Right Arm of the Forbidden One",
"Left Arm of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the
Forbidden One", or "Left Leg of the Forbidden One"
is not in your Graveyard.

Exodia Necross
Oh, what they COULD have done with Necross but
didn't...
Basically, Exodia Necross is a trap set for newbies.
If you're playing Exodia, you should be
concentrating on getting Exodia in hand, not dumping
it to the Graveyard for some other effect. I don't
know about you, but I'd rather WIN THE DUEL than get
out some 1800 ATK monster that gets +500 every turn,
is immune to spell and traps, but still gets killed
by Exiled Force, D. D. Warrior Lady, D. D.
Assailant...I know that EVERYTHING gets killed by
X-Force, DDWL, and DDA, but generally spending the
entire Duel setting up to bring out one card that is
easily screwed over by 4 or 5 cards in the average
deck you'll be playing against...not a good idea.
I still have a Necross in my trade binder. I'm
hoping some newbie will dump off a bunch of commons
for it so I can at least get something out of it.
I'm starting to doubt I'll even get that.
1/5 all. |

Exodia Necross
Yuck. Even when I was still a n00b I thought this
guy would be a bit too hard to pull of. And trust
me, if a n00b thinks it can't be done well then
that's really saying something. XP
Its hard enough to try and get the pieces in hand
right? Now I have to try and graveyard all of them?
This of course bearing in mind that we don't have
Mirage, Painful, Graceful, and Foolish Burial. Then
you need to have this card AND the spell card to
summon it ALA ritual.
Just no. Yes it could be the uber-godly invincible
monster, but no you won't get it out. It just plain
will never be done in Advanced Format as it
currently stands - three merchants doesn't cut it
for the speed this type of deck needs. |

Continuing "Oldies" week we come to Exodia...sort
of. Exodia Necross, which we also saw on the anime
in Burying the Past Parts I and II used by Gozaburo
against Kaiba.
Here, we have another Nomi-monster, except this one
is incredibly complicated. You have to have ALL
pieces of Exodia the Forbidden One in your
Graveyard.
Exodia Necross boasts some nice abilities though. A
mere 1800 attack to begin with, but it increases by
500 during each of your stand-by phase. Also,
Necross is immune to magic and trap cards that
destroy it. He also can't be destroyed by battle.
However, if at anytime, one of the pieces of Exodia
is removed, Necross is immediately destroyed. I've
never seen a competitive Exodia Necross deck (or a
fun one) which is a shame. I'd like to see one.
(article
idea!) (runs out)
Ratings:
3/5 even in its own deck, as it's the only place it
belongs
Art: 5/5 truely awesome I believe

Exodia Necross
Now, when I first looked at this week I thought of
the retroness of the choices, a nice change of pace.
But then just like the days in the middle of a long
week, the cards got worse. Today we look at Exodia
Necros, that expensive card, that really isn’t worth
it. It has hard summoning requirements, for too
little reward. Essentially it’s a card that could be
used for fun but could only fit into an Exodia deck.
In reality you are best off focusing on Exodia for
the win then using a card that requires as much
devotion as Necross.
Another card not worth running

I
have noticed a pattern with CotD's; if I don't do
them on the weekend, then I rarely do them at all.
Considering how I didn't really "miss out" on
reviews over the past two weeks, that's not that big
a deal, but since I'm in the mood to write right
now…
Exodia Necross is amazing. That doesn't mean it's a
good card. No, I mean that this card amazes me and
others. I mean, it seems to have some aura around it
that, to the keen nose and eye of the Good Player,
likens it to some variant of feces and delegates it
to the n00b trade bait portion of your binder, yet
is immediately interpreted as one of the greatest
cards in existence by a new player.
Exodia lets you win the game. A card that is
associated with Exodia must be powerful. Exodia
Necross is pretty good… It lives through attacks,
laughs at Sakuretsu Armor and Smashing Ground and
Torrential Tribute, grows stronger every turn, and
just looks powerful.
Of course, always wanting to inform, I must tell you
that the effect, while quite useful when up against
something like, oh, say, D. D. Warrior Lady.
That's right. This card might not be destroyed by
card effects, but there are so many ways to get it
off the field or nullify its effect that it honestly
isn't even worth playing. D. D. Warrior Lady, for
example, doesn't destroy the undead Exodia. No, you
can't kill the undead, don't be stupid. She just
removes him from play and sends her to another
dimension (whoah, DBZ flashback, let me recover my
brain cells)*.
D. D. Assailant does a similar job. How about Snatch
Steal? That won't kill it, but it'll come on over to
your opponent's side of the field… And then, whoah,
its controller no longer has all the pieces of
Exodia in his graveyard. The undead Exodia
disassembles himself, because how can you be an
unstoppable zombie god without a right leg?
Seriously.
Hell, if you're playing with this, chances are the
people you're playing will come up with even more
interesting ways of sending this beast away. How
about Penguin Soldier? Have fun waiting for another
Contract With Exodia to special summon him. Speaking
of which, he can only be Special Summoned one way.
He can't be Normal Summoned, and even if you Special
Summon him properly, if he hits the graveyard (let's
say that your opponent used Monster Reborn on one of
your Exodia pieces), you can't revive him with your
own Monster Reborn.
And Lord knows it's always fun to summon Tsukuyomi,
flip Exodia Necross face down, and then banish him
from the lands with the aid of a Nobleman. A
Nobleman of Crossout. Keep in mind that very few
monsters have effects that apply while they're
face-down, and Exodia Necross? He isn't one of them.
You can destroy him while he's face-down… Though, to
be fair, not by battle. If you attack Exodia Necross
and he gets flipped face-up, his effect applies
again. That doesn't stop Mystic Swordsman LV2 from
killing him, though.
Ooh… Mystic Swordsman LV2… That reminds me of
something entirely unique. Monsters have effects.
Exodia is protected from Spell and Trap cards, but
his juggernaut-like power doesn't prevent monster
effects from stopping him in his tracks… So you can
skip Penguin Soldier and just use Man-Eater Bug, or
the more playable Cyber Jar and Exiled Force. Hell,
summon Zaborg to finish him off.
Speaking of Monarchs, he won't protect himself from
Soul Exchange, which doesn't destroy. It "tributes".
Gotta love those nifty rules text tidbit.
Oh, and if all of this weren't enough, Spirit Reaper
still laughs at him. Spirit Reaper, something far
easier to play with far more reward to use and a
heck of a lot more in terms of utility (as well as
being easier to get), can just sit there as the
undead god tries fruitlessly to break through his
meager 200 DEF.
In case you haven't figured it out yet… I'll play on
the safe side and just straight out say it: THE CARD
SUCKS.
I've already used my 1/5 joke this month (damn you,
Infernal Incinerator!)** so I'm going to have to
give this only ONE 1/5. This card isn't even worth a
rare draft. =\
1/5 ALL
* - In Yu-Gi-Oh!, the equivalent is sending someone
to the Shadow Realm.
** - That joke has a 6-week cooldown and costs 700
mana to use, and it's a legendary drop in Timesink
Cavern, a 400 man instance that takes 76 consecutive
hours to complete. But DAMN, it's worth the effort. |

Exodia Necross
The back up for when Exodia fails. The fact that I
even said that just proves how this card is never
going to work.
Necross can’t be destroyed by spell or traps effects
or in battle , not bad but there are loads of ways
of still killing him, for instance MONSTER effects
or removing him from play. Not to mention removing
an Exodia piece from play.
The summoning conditions just wont happen,
especially without heavy storm.
Necross is bad, but I’d still run him in Exodia,
just for fun, but statistically, not worth it.
Still, I’d love to lose to one of these.
Traditional : 1/5 - Nope, no way…
Advanced : 2/ 5 ; Maybe, what with all the 1 . 4 .
1’s going around, but still - No.
Art : 5/5 - Awesomeness. |

Exodia Necross:
Welcome back to "I Wanna Be Blue" Week. Well, it
just looks like that 'cause you don't know what's
comming tommorrow.
Unlike yesterday's card, this gains ATK every turn
and its Special Bonus Power is indestructibility
(except from Exiled Force and Chaos Sorcerer). Now,
indestructibility is good, as I said yesterday, but
getting all five pieces of Exodia into your
Graveyard is just ridiculous. It's hard enough to
get them in your ruddy hand.
This, similar to Spirit Reaper, has a built-in
Self-Destruct Button, being your opponent attacking
with Kycoo or side decking Disapear (which isn't as
half-arsed as it might sound) to remove an Exodia
piece from the Graveyard. But this isn't actually
that bad a drawback as it won't happen often.
A nice powerhouse, with all the traits a good nomi
should have. Except that you'll never get the
summoning condition as the viable ways of doing this
involve having very few monsters in your deck and
winning the game before you deck out. This monster
encourages neither.
Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 1/5
Casual: 2/5 (If you have Exodia, build an Exodia
deck
properly!)
Share and enjoy,
