Dust Tornado
I'm seeing less and less Dust in decks lately, and
I'm surprised. Mainly it's because of more Decree
doing the job over a longer term, but an unexpected
1 for 1 that clears out defenses before the opponent
can use them is a powerful card. We all know the
look on an opponent's face when you end-of-turn
chain this and nuke their freshly set Scapegoat, and
it's happened to pretty much all of us as well.
Dust is a good choice for the players who don't want
to burden themselves with Decree but still want to
run several traps other than the big three
(Mirror/Call/Torrential.) Dust has also gained a new
trick since the last time we've reviewed it -- chain
Dust at end of turn, use its effect to set Return
from the Different Dimension from your hand, your
turn comes around, Return, swing for game. Evil,
evil combination...
Dust should AT LEAST be maxed (or close) in all the
side decks that can afford the room to do so -- if
nothing else but to thwart burn decks, or any other
decks that depend on a specific S/T to either win,
or to stay on the field period.
4/5 main, 5/5 side

Dust Tornado:
Strangely, I have never heard anyone make a comment
about Toto and Kansas when playing this card.
Everyone should know this. I'll leave people that
have played recently to ponder why it's usage has
gone down recently. If I find myself with a spare
Trap slot, it will generally be filled by this.
There's something about using the End Phase that I
like. This loses out to MST as it's nowhere near as
fast or convienient to play from hand but, it's
still good.

Advanced: 4/5

Dust Tornado
!!!
Awesome card. Dust Tornado is one of the oldest
cards in YGO that have remained playable
through...every format actually. Dust was cool tech
in the Goat format, and its been utilized in
Aggressive builds in this format and the last, as
its also tremendously good with Return from the
Different Dimension.
Dust is good for YGO, in the way that decks such as
Robbin' Goblin control become playable because you
can use Dust to set it in their end phase and
activate it on your turn, so you won't get Heavy
Stormed before you get to take cards from there
hand, and it destroys one of their Spell or Traps as
well, amazing.
Jae Kim showed us how good Dust Tornado was in his
run at Shonen Jump Championship Charlotte, he used
THREE Dust Tornadoes to take Traps and Spells
totally out of the equation, then dominated the
field with his Zombies and such. Dust Tornado is
even better now, as Mobius is becoming more and more
popular, and Dust Tornado takes away some of the
Frost Monarchs effectiveness.
I salute you, Dust Tornado.
Constructed: 4/5.
Traditional: No rating.

Dust tornado ;
For the rest of the week, its 1 for 1’s, please
enjoy.
Originally Dust tornado was the less used cousin of
Mystical Space typhoon , being slower and lets face
it, a bit more complicated back then. I remember
that the original Dust tornado was so complicated
that I traded mine to avoid confusion whilst using
it.
Upon Mystcal’s restriction, way back when, this card
immediately saw more use, and probably started the
‘if something gets restricted sought out for the
next best thing’ trend that has appeared since the
lists first induction.
As it stands now, Dust tornado is a sweet little
card providing end phase destruction madness,
chainability and a handy way around a face down
threat. It’s not broken, it’s still pretty cool ,
and its worth a spot in most decks. Also, it’s
secondary effect can come in very handy for setting
up some pretty cool combo’s.

Dust Tornado is a card that fades in and out of
play. At the current time it sees no play because
royal decree is commanding attention. As far as the
card goes I believe it to be a perfect one for one,
with awesome chaining ability. It does what it is
suppose to do, kill s/t before they become an issue
while also maintaining field presence by stopping
snatch steal, swords, etc.
An overall good card.
Not broken but killer nonetheless
3.8/5
5/5 in the side deck (extra s/t removal never hurt
anyone other than an opponent)

Dust Tornado
Normat Trap
Text:
Destroy 1 Spell or Trap on your opponent's side of
the field. You can then set 1 Spell or Trap Card
from your hand
If you're not running this in your sidedeck then
you're insane period the end. I think we all know of
the " End Phase " trick with cards like Dust Tornado
or MST to nuke chanable threats before they become
chainable. Other then that, it can take down minor
threats. It's also a stable counter to some cards
you may have difficulty with. main deck them vs
Burn/Stall or certain OTKs. The secondary effect is
usefull too like with Call of the Haunted or RftDD
to set up for the win earlier.
Traditional Format > 3/5: Chainable to HFD. which is
always good but really great to take out your
opponent's Imperial Order
Advance Format (Side Deck)> 4.5/5: Its seen less
play but still a very good card to consider for your
sidedeck
Artwork > 3/5: Its either a big dust storm with
feathers or a tornado that hit of poor bird <.<

Dust Tornado
There has been a lot of talk on the Forum about this
card. Is it a staple, is it over rated, should it be
sideboarded? Well here is my spill on it.
I believe it is a solid sideboard, and, depending
how deep you are at removing traps and spells, an
iffy main deck. I do not believe it be a staple, and
I believe that some overrate it, and some underrate
it.
Being a trap means it has to survive on the field
for a turn before activating, score one for MST. Can
be chained to other magic and trap removal, score
one for both MST and DT. Is not limited to one,
score one for Dust Tornado. So if you guy by the
numbers these should be even, but they are not. I
prefer MST because it can be played exactly like DT
or drawn and played same turn. The fact that it is
limited proves the power of the Typhoon over the
Tornado.
I think that this card saw its day before Breaker,
Mobius, Chiron, even Swift Birdman Joe showed up.
Now monsters are doing the dirty work for the trap
and spell removal. True that it can be chained to a
Mobius to take the edge off of the hit by hitting
one of your opponent's M/T, but it is a terrible top
deck.
Bottom Line:
Traditional - 2/5 - Harpies Feather Duster is
running wild here.
Advanced - 2/5 - Even without HFD, we still have
Breaker, Mobius and all the other stoppers.
Art: 2/5 - A Tornado of Dust. "a---aA----AAA-----AAACHOOOOOO!!"
Until next time, "gesundheit"
