Magical Arm Shield
Essentially, Ancient Lamp in Trap form. It's riskier
to play than Sakuretsu Armor (as your opponent may
not have a second face-up monster, and thus you
wouldn't be able to play this) but it can also be
more rewarding to play than Sakuretsu (destroying a
monster you would rather see nuked than the
attacking monster, or making them ram into a bigger
monster for some damage. An optimal play with this
would be making your opponent's Cyber Dragon ram
into the opponent's DEF Chaos Sorcerer that hasn't
used its removal ability yet You'd rather get rid of
the Sorcerer than the Cyber, and Magical Arm Shield
lets you do that.
However, this card isn't all THAT great; Top 8s are
typically made with consistency over risky cards,
and unless the new tech card ends up being crazy
consistent (which this isn't) it's not gonna see
play.

Magical Arm Shield warrants a slightly longer review
than the past two days. Seeing as how it actually
has an effect, this should come as no surprise.
This card is annoying. It does some very annoying
things. There is little that hurts less than looking
bright-eyed at your opponent, knowing that Mirror
Force is in the graveyard and Call of the Haunted
can't ruin a potential attack, only to let your
Mystic Swordsman LV2 attack the face-down and run
into your Cyber Dragon, effectively switching it
into their Battle Phase.
Let me put it like this. This is an extremely
situational Change of Heart in trap form. Not only
do you need a monster, but your opponent needs two
face-up ones. That makes this card fairly annoying
to use, but when you pull it off it's much more
annoying for your opponent. It can potentially combo
with some other really techy cards, too, making
hilarious moves with Enemy Controller and Ultimate
Offering or, in the odd case you manage to take
control of a Chaos Sorcerer, enabling Deck
Devastation Virus. Of course, let's be slightly
realistic here and remember that we're talking about
Magic Arm Shield. The techiest thing you should
expect to do is kill a Spirit Reaper with it, or
perhaps do 1000 damage and kill a card or something.
The real good part about this card is its value,
which is approximately that of... Let me eBay
this... Around 1.5 boxes of Enemy of Justice, where
you can actually get some good cards that are
potentially very broken. I speak of Banisher of the
Radiance and anything with "Majestic Mech" in its
name that has over five but under seven stars.
Potentially Macro Cosmos, too.
Not saying anything bad about this card, but why run
it? Competitive decks barely run Sakuretsu anymore.
This is far too t3chy to survive in this format.
Bleh.

Magic Arm Shield review:
So we get a pseudo Magic Lamp trap card. Could be
used as a nice surprise for the enemy, especially if
they've switched a Sorceror to def in fear of MF.
But I don't really expect it to be played, it
doesn't garauntee destruction

Magical Arm Shield:
A rarer, substantially more expensive Sakuretsu.
Actually, this isn't as good as Sakuretsu. It's just
an interesting idea. This isn't as good mostly
becuase of the activating conditions: you must have
at least one monster and your opponent at least two.
You also can't time Magical Arm Shield to destroy
your opponent's largest monster, but can only
effectively pick off the smaller ones.
For this restriction, you get to do some damage to
your opponent and negate an additional attack
(provided you choose a monster that hasn't attacked
yet). Not that bad, but its physical cost might stop
you from seeing this on every street corner.

Advanced: 3.5/5

Magical Arm Shield ;
Finally, something interesting.
Magical arm shield is a very interesting little
number, especially since it’s a Joey card, and after
all, we all know that makes all the difference.
For a trap, arm shield is very unique, literally
acting as an attack re - diverter, and effect very
rare in this game. Forcing the opponent to attack
their own monster instead of your own is a very good
one. It can cripple an opposing strategy, by either
blasting something with their own cyber dragon, or
ramming a Mystic Swordsman Level 2 into their Cyber
Dragon. Either way, it’s manic fun.
The main problem with this card is that technically
it is quite situational. Firstly, the opponent must
have two monsters, and you must have at least one. I
suppose not VERY hard to do, but considering that a
Sakurtsu would do at least an equal effect whenever
is something to think about, still, I like it.
Traditional ; 2/5 Less uses here.
Advanced ; 3/5 Nothing truly incredible.
Art ; 3/5 Looks how I’d imagine.
MPS : 4/5 It Joey after all….

Wow this is the TP8 Ultra Rare, I liked D. D.
Warrior as the TP Ultra Rare much better then this
but this card is very neat to bad its only face up :
( I would like to take there MoF or whatever. Now
this is just another situational trap but with a
interesting effect basically use your opponents
monsters as a shield or designate there Spirit
Reaper ( which then dies ) but the catch is there
has to be 2 or more face up monster on the field
plus in the end you're still dealing with the bigger
monster so naturally Sakuretsu Armor, WideSpread
Ruin, Mirror Force are far superior too this but if
you want to have fun or you're lucky enough to pull
it then give it a try ~.^
Traditional Format > 1.1/5: If there is more then
one monster giving you trouble.... Raigeki anyone ?
Advance Format > 2.5/5: I fun surprise to play on
your opponent or just trade bait ( kids will love it
because of the show )
Artwork > 3.5/5: Soo cartoon like I love it

Magical Arm Shield
Yu Gi Oh meets Willey Coyote.
A nifty effect but would be so much better if it
could be done during your turn instead of waiting
for a monster to attack while you have a monster and
they another non-attacking monster. Then the target
of the attack becomes the janked monster.
Um... yeah... thats a lot of stipulations to get
around. It could be helpful say if some drops Cyber
Dragon and Summons Chaos Sorcerer and Don Zaloog.
Depending on your monster situation, and assuming
Chaos Sorcerer's effect cannot be used, say you have
a FD monster, they would probably attack first with
Cyber Dragon and then Chaos Sorcerer. You could play
this and Take the Chaos Sorcerer and make the Cyber
Dragon smack into the Chaos Sorcerer instead of your
FD. Then it goes back to their side of the field and
you still have a big problem.
One use I see is the old Alter for Tribute/Mystic
Wok combo that is used often with switch control for
one turn cards. You can gain the life, but the
attack on your monster would still go through.
Bottom Line:
Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 1/5
I simply do not see the point of this card when
there are better ways to stop monsters from
attacking (Magic Cylinder comes to mind if you want
to do damage AND stop the attack)
Art: 2/5 - A cartoony claw arm coming out of a magic
shield with what looks like to car buffers put at
the end *sigh*
Until next time, gotta catch em all.
