Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day
|
|
Yu-Jyo Friendship
Ultra Rare
Offer to shake hands with your opponent. If your
opponent accepts the handshake, add the current life
points of both players and split it evenly between
both players. This is becomes the new life point
status. If you have "Unity" in your hand, reveal it
to your opponent to force a handshake.
Type - Magic
Card Number - YCB-001

Friendship
Again, another -1 that doesn't do much of anything.
Basically, it splits the LP right down the middle,
but you have to have Unity in the hand for it to
work. So it's a -1....that requires you have another
-1 in your hand. Ouch. If I'm going to have my LP
really low on purpose, it's going to be to activate
Reversal Quiz when I have a set Fuhma Shuriken FTW,
or to use Blasting the Ruins and chain Life
Equalizer (also FTW.)
This card also stinks.
1/5 all

As
you should know from yesterday, today we look at Yu
Jo Friendship So, in short, if your opponent accepts
your handshake, than both players lifepoints become
half the total amount of each players total
lifepoints. Furthermore, if you have Unity in your
Graveyard, they must accept.
My question is this: IF you are winning and in
control, or are going to win, then why would you use
this card at all? Sorry, I don't recommend it, at
least Unity is fairly useful.

Yu
- Jo Friendship ;
This is one of the coolest cards I’ve ever seen, and
the effect can be extremely unfair if you’re packing
a Unity.
Yu - Jo friendship is the second of the 3 special
cards we are reviewing this week and its unique in
being the only card in the history of the game where
you are requested to make physical contact. With the
opponent.
If you manage to pull of this card, the game can
take a phenomenally abrupt turn in your favour
depending on when you activated it. For instance,
you could be sitting back against the wall with a
huge, near death distance of 7000 life points, then
draw this and you’ve evened out the playing field,
that is if the opponent accepts.
And there in les the problem. Its very unlikely that
you will play this card when the opponent is on
lower life points than you, and its even less
unlikely that the opponent will accept the handshake
if they are on higher life points. That’s where
Unity comes in. If you have both of these then you
can even out the score and the opponent doesn’t get
a say in it. That’s the best way to use both of
these cards, and could be incredible as a pull back
card. A shame it wasn’t quick play.
Traditional : 2/5 Too situational to get a common
way of pulling this off.
Advanced : 3/5

Yu-Jo Friendship
Unlike yesterdays card this card alone premotes the
spread of the Flu ( shaking hands ) just joking ~.^
but this is by far the weirdest card effect in my
opinion in YGO period. Now sometimes and I'm sure
many people feel the same you don't want to touch
your opponents hands ( maybe dirty or worse ) other
then that this card its pretty odd but halving your
opponent LP is somewhat good but unless you have
Unity in your hand or they have no clue what the
card does they will refuse the handshake soo this
card is very pointless. Now the whole three new
promos --- Unity, Yu-Jo Friendship, and Judgement of
the Pharaoh would make excellent deck box dividers
for the person like me that holds everything and I
mean everything !!! ( main deck, sidedeck, fusion
deck, extra ) in one deck box :D.
Traditional Format > 1/5: Why Bother ???
Advance Format > 1/5
Deck Divider > 5/5
Artwork > 3/5: Pretty cool artwork IMO

Friendship
Ok. Here we have the second attempt to blur the line
between card game and anime.
First the effect.
Ok. Hold up. When did Yu Gi Oh take clues from
Magic: The Gathering - Unglued. This reads like a
bad joke. Example: MTG - Unglued: Infernal Spawn of
Evil - If you pay the mana cost and reveal the card
in your hand and scream "IT'S COMING!!" deal one
damage. No kidding. Now this card is not legal in
MTG tourney play. So why is it that something like
this card would be legal in Yu Gi Oh play. You
"request" a handshake from your opponent and if they
agree, then LP are averaged making both players have
the same (and if you are the opponent and accept
this handshake willingly, pack up your cards and go
home). Now you can FORCE a handshake by showing
"Unity" in your hand.
The Best combo I can think of is to play this while
wearing a joy-buzzer, or have a thumbtack stuck to
your palm. The LP average can be nice if you play
Wall of Revealing Light, pay 7000 lp and then play
this. Both players would be at 4500 after the
average, and while the trap stayed on the field, no
monster alive could attack (bar a CyberStein frontal
assault).
The creamy center of the chocolate covered piece of
cardboard is that it is a Normal Spell. *sigh*
Bottom Line:
Traditional: 2/5 - Just for being a bit comboable.
Advanced: 2/5 - Not Cookie Cutter at all. Could be
fun to play for the expression on your opps face.
Art: Again with anime BS. I like the anime such as
it is. I always have, but lets keep em seperate.
They look like the old Wonder Twins form Saturday
Morning Cartoons.
Until next time, WONDER TWIN POWERS... ACTIVATE!!!

Yu-Jo Friendship:
Hmm. Promo. Happiness. Forcing someone to accept a
handshake.
A straightforward enough card. Either tie Life
Points at some amenable middle ground or make your
opponent look evil and vindictive out of context. I
don't think it's that amazing an effect and probably
won't show up often, but if anyone has a deck based
around dropping to almost no LP and wants to come
back, this might be an option. If very desperate.
Traditional: 2/5
Advanced: 2/5
Share and enjoy,

Friendship is an interesting card. You
offer your opponent a handshake. If they shake
it, your LP score and your opponent’s LP score
are added together, then divided in half, with
the result being each players new LP score.
Thing is, unless you have Unity in your
hand, which then makes it so they have to accept
the handshake, its almost certainly not going to
happen unless it benefits them. With Unity
in hand, you can burn LP for useful (and even
not so useful) effects, and end up making your
opponent foot half the “bill”. Third/fourth
turn activate cards that use large quantities of
LP (mostly Traps like Wall of Revealing Light
and Solemn Judgment) to quickly lower
your LP, and don’t worry too much if they do
attack you so long as it isn’t fatal. Why?
Because in a few turns, you’re just going to
merge LP a final time, and then play Poison
of the Old Man for the win.
Pretty crazy, but it might work. I mean, you
just need a few defenses and probably maxing out
on cards like Reload and Magical
Mallet to get set up quickly.
Ratings
Traditional :
1/5 – Imperial Order? Even if that
wasn’t there, there are just better options.
Advanced :
2/5 – Its hurt since it has to have Unity
in hand to work. Again, I am not factoring in
how useful tomorrow’s (the final card in this
“series”) cards’ usefulness. If tomorrow’s card
is great, it just helps this one, but I didn’t
factor it in so it can’t make it lower. Looks
like Unity might be just a hair better
than I scored it yesterday just because this
wasn’t totally useless.
