Cyber Prima
Hey look...it's Mobius, but it sucks!
Let's look at every aspect of the card in one
sentence, since I love doing that and hardly get a
chance to anymore.
It's a one-tribute (bad) 2300 (100 short of being
good) Light (good) Warrior (possibly good) that
destroys all Continuous Spells upon Summon
(sub-par).
I thought of a few things right away where you COULD
get a benefit by playing this, but not that many.
Anti-Burn (nuke those Wave-Motion Cannons, the Level
Limit, and the Messengers of Peace), it kills an
opponent's Premature, Snatch, or Swords..and finally
it's a card that the Clockwork Control build (the
one that stalls forever with Clock Tower Prison)
would have to worry about.
I see no major reasons to side this NOW, or main it
at all, but it could possibly be used in some deck
in the future.

Stats :
Cyber Prima is a Level 6 Light/Warrior
Effect Monster with 2300 ATK and 1600 DEF.
Being a Tribute means the effect has to overcome
an inherent loss of a card to get it into play
(be it a Monster offered as Tribute, a
Premature Burial after dumping it into the
Graveyard, or whatever). It is a Light Monster,
which is a good sign: while it is annoying that
Chaos is still such a strong presence in
the format, at least it is some kind of
Attribute based support. If is just unfortunate
that it is for the Attributes that least need
the aid. Still, it helps this Monster.
Warriors are perhaps the best supported theme in
the game, so that is another mark in Cyber
Prima’s favor. Granted their support is
best for Level 4 Monsters, whether by design or
not, still there is enough there to benefit
Cyber Prima.
What won’t help her, and just guessing this is
female as this Monster series is rather gender
ambiguous, is that her ATK is only 2300 in a
meta dominated by 2400 ATK Tributes and capable
of dropping 2300 ATK Level 4 Monsters on a
whim. Goblin Attack Force, even though
its not a deck staple to most, is a counter
waiting in the wings for any Tribute Monster
from 2100 ATK to 2300 ATK, as even if you drop
and attack, you come out ahead in card count.
The reason 2100 ATK and below Tribute Monsters
don’t fear Goblin Attack Force is we have
Cyber Dragon already rendering them poor
investments, so Goblin Attack Force would
be redundant. There are other Monsters that
could do the same, but most have reasonable
downsides: Jirai Gumo is usually
expensive to attack with, Chainsaw Insect
would give them a draw to replace the Monster
you just slew, Zombyra can’t attack
direct and loses ATK points as it destroys
Monsters, etc. There are a few others that
would still be problems, but at least it’d be
less than what we have now (or the potential for
what we have now). At least Cyber Prima’s
1600 DEF is useful in the current format.
Book of Moon might be at one, but it and
Enemy Controller still see play and even if
they didn’t, Tsukuyomi does. All of
those result in shots at beatsticks in their oft
weaker DEF position. Cyber Prima will
require a real beatstick to slay her in DEF
mode, not just Tsukuyomi or even a spent
Breaker. That helps, marginally.
Overall, though her stats should be good, in the
current meta they aren’t up to snuff unless she
has a very good effect.
Effect :
When Cyber Prima is Tribute Summoned
successfully, she destroys all face up Spell
Cards on the field. This has some potential,
but as a whole probably won’t be enough to get
her played. This is a nice, solid effect with
some combo potential. Of course, that means it
won’t see play since the metagame is dominated
overpowered cards, including several dedicated
to Spell/Trap removal.
Uses and
Combinations :
Face-Up Spells are usually limited to Snatch
Steal and Premature Burial and then a
few other random Equip and stall cards. It hits
you as well, but honestly that’s a good thing,
as it opens up some simple combos. Smoke
Grenade of the Thief can be equipped to any
Monster but the one you are offering as Tribute
to Summon Cyber Prima. So just slap in
on your opponent’s Monster (other than Spirit
Reaper), then Tribute Summon Cyber Prima
to give her a Monarch worthy effect. If
Return from the Different Dimension
wasn’t so popular, then Big Bang Shot
would also be useful (since it would remove the
Equipped Monster as Cyber Prima destroyed
it). There are a few others, but sadly they get
even weaker so I’ll let you hunt them out. Too
bad you can’t hit Trap Cards. Still, Snatch
Steal is popular enough that even in a CC
deck this isn’t a total waste.
Ratings
Traditional :
1/5 – Even though it feeds Chaos, it
can’t compete with the utter brokenness of the
average card used in this format.
Advanced :
2/5 – Its stats are just a hair puny for it to
be a poor choice for Chaos, but it would
still work an on occasion pay for itself by
nuking an opponent’s Premature Burial,
Swords of Revealing Light, Snatch Steal,
Messenger of Peace, and… that’s about it
for commonly played Spells that remain face-up
in play. There are a few more, but they get
more and more specialized after that.
Summary
Cyber Prima
is one of those cards that should be great. At
least, if the game played out the way it tends
to in the manga and such, where players often
can rely on a Spell card being in play for
several turns, and will even stack Continuous
Spells on top of each other. That’s not how
things are though since even after so many Ban
Lists, we still have mass Spell removal and many
one-for-one Spells. Anyone with an inkling of
skill will make a one-for-one trade favor them.

We
close out this week with Cyber Prima, a monster who
is metal, clearly a Machine, but this is a Warrior
card, but let's leave that for another day.
2300 attack for one tribute...just below the norm of
2400 attack for the one tribute monster, but still
solid. 1600 defense is decent...it survives
Tsukyiomi. The Light Attribute is useful, as this
card also has.
Now, when this card is successfully Tribute
Summoned, destroy all Face Up Magic cards on the
field. That's good...right? Not so much. How many
Continuous Magic cards do you see used against you?
Not many.
Destroy a Swords of Revealing Light early or maybe a
Level Limit Area B or something, but not much.
Ratings:
2.5/5 all around for Fairies
1.5/5 elsewhere
Art: 5/5
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Cyber Prima:
A not-very-good Monarch copy.
Ok, it might be able to blow up lots of Spells, but
how many face-up ones do you see floating about on
the field at one time? Somewhere around zero and one
in my experience. Also, being a Warrior doesn't help
higher level monsters. Thus, an alright monster, but
nothing to make one want to use it. Mobius does the
job better.
Traditonal: 2/5

Cyber Prima
Noo !!! its not a Light type Mobius so don't get any
thoughts ^.~. If you watch the GX show this is one
of Alexis Rhodes ( aka Asuka Tenjoin ) cards used by
her in the show. Now unlike Mobius she targets only
F/U ( Face Up ) spell cards not anything which makes
Mobius superior no matter situation but whats makes
her better then Mobius she can destroy all F/U spell
cards not just two, Now this can actually come in
very nicely if you're playing a Burn/Stall deck
since usually they have a few F/Us like Level Limit
Area B or WMC now bring her our nuke there Stall or
Burn spell cards ^.^ vert affective indeed.
Traditional Format > 1/5: Very pointless when you
have HFD which kills anything
Advance Format > 3/5: If you meta is filled with
Burn or Stall this could be usefull I suggest people
try her out in sidedecks IMO or just use Mobius it
really depends on you
Artwork > 2/5: ??? weird

Cyber Prima
This card is a solid side deck addition, maybe even
in Cookie Cutter. Just for a moment, lets pretend
that you find yourself at a regionals, nationals,
world tourney and your cookie cutter has wooped all
the other cookie cutters, but now you are up against
a stall burn deck with hardly any monsters. What do
you do?
One thing you can do is side board these for Zaborg
to destroy that pesky Snatch Steal, Dark Door,
Messenger of Peace, Swords of Revealing Light,
Premature Burial, Toll and Wave Motion Cannon. So
this card has its purposes against the right deck,
and by siding out a Zaborg for this, you do not lose
the Light attribute slot you worked so hard to copy.
2300 atk 1600 def. The atk is higher than Cyber
Dragon, lower than Monarchs, and even with Chaos
Sorcerer. The def means the Tsukoyomi cannot flip
and smack. All around a pretty good card.
Bottom Line:
Traditional: 2.5/5 - Raigeki is still here, and
usually stall has less a chance.
Advanced: 3.5/5 - A solid Side board against the odd
Stall Burn or spell heavy deck.
Art: 3/5 - Nothing that knocks my socks off, but she
sure is perty.
Until next time, *puts on Tina Turner wig* "I'm your
private dancer, dancer for money..."
