Gigantes
I actually played against people who used this card.
It's really not that bad.
Gigantes was the precursor to the Sacred Phoenix.
Cheap removal (only 1 Earth, easily done in almost
any deck), a respectable 1900 ATK for that removal,
and a Heavy Storm when it's destroyed. I'm really
suprised this card didn't see more play, but then
again, we had much better things to remove for when
there wasn't a Forbidden list.
The problem is that if you don't set any M/Ts, your
opponent will just use a removal card on him, and if
you try to attack with him, odds are he's getting
Sakuretsu'd, again without his effect. Basically,
he's a temporary deterrent to attacks until the
opponent can get rid of him without losing their
M/Ts. ...or if their M/Ts are chainable, they'll
attack into it anyway.
It's a decent card that takes skill to play
correctly...but given how many people netdeck (of
which I'm one, obviously), people won't play
something good, unless it's absolutely broken,
unless they see someone else do well with it first.
That's just how it is.

Hey
Pojoers! I just wanted to say hi to all the YGO
readers we have here. I am a new YGO reviewer but
have been reviewing Duel Masters on Pojo for a
little over a year now, just letting you know. Now,
let’s get on to the review!
Gigantes
Now, the most current place that you see this card
is from the new structure deck, Invincible Fortress.
Now let’s examine it’s power stats. It have 1900 atk
points and 1300 defense points, giving it a fairly
good attack for a 4 star along with a defense that
can save you from the Tsukuyomi, of course assuming
your opponent has any other monsters.
Now, let’s get to the effect. It says that it can
only be special summoned by removing 1 earth monster
from play. The pros on this is obviously it combos
with the ever popular Return from the Different
Dimension. But, the bad thing is that it has to be
an Earth Monster. Most Earth monsters aren’t played
in today’s cookie cutter decks, which is a problem.
Most people only run Exiled Force and possibly DD
Assailant. The other part of this card is that when
the card is destroyed and sent the graveyard, it
destroys all Spell and Trap cards on the field.
With so many people running Chaos Sorceror, and now,
Macro Cosmos, most things just get removed from
play, so it’s effect doesn’t even activate, so, I’d
stray away from this card myself.
Traditional: 1.0/5 Don’t really see a reason to run
it, as there are SO many better choices then this.
Advanced: 2.5/5 If your running Warriors, not too
bad, unless your meta is running Chaos or Macro. If
they are, definitely do not run this card.
Hope you liked my first YGO review, hopefully I’ll
do these consistently ^^ ,
Till next time,
Drizer

Gigantes is one of the Elemental remove from play
monsters we got from Invasion of Chaos, if you
recall. Let's start by looking at his effect(s).
Pros:
1900 attack
Level 4
Special Summon
Heavy Storm effect if destroyed by battle
Cons:
Requires a monster (earth) to be removed from play
Heavy Storm effect if destroyed by battle
Noite, I did state the Heavy Storm effect as a pro
and a con. Why?
You may not want the effect to go off, so you'll
have to play your set Magic and Trap cards carefully
so you don't lose. As far as Gigantes goese, he's
fairly solid.
Ratings:
3/5 all around
Art: 3.5/5 Kind of demonic or satanic, he has a tree
in his arm I think
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Gigantes
Attrib: Earth
Type: Rock/Effect
Level:4
Atk: 1900
Def: 1300
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This
card can only be Special Summoned by removing from
play 1 EARTH monster in your Graveyard. When this
card is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to
the Graveyard, destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on
the field.
Hello readers, today is "Gigantes", I really like
this CoTD choice =).
"Gigantes" is a level four Earth attribute monster,
with a Rock "type", with good stats and a really
good effect.
"Gigantes" lets you special summon him from your
hand by removing any one Earth monster from your
graveyard from play. He has 1900 attack which will
let him take down "Dekoichi the Battlechanted
Locomotive" , "Mystic Tomato", "Breaker the Magical
Warrior", "D.D. Warrior Lady" , and even "Airknight
Parshath"!
His 1300 defense is greatttt too because he cannot
be harmed by "Tsukuyomi" , who is arguably one of
the best monster cards in the game right now. When "Gigantes"
is destroyed (As a result of battle, JUST as a
result of battle.), you MUST destroy ALL Magic and
Traps on the field, imagine the possibilities!
Lets go back to "Airknight Parshath". Airknight is
regularly appearing in decks labeled "Decree
Control". This deck has Two/Three "Royal Decree"
cards, and is supported by "Mystic Tomato" to
establish field presence, and "Airknight Parshath"
is free to gain you card advantage, alot of it. Now
imagine if your opponent has Airknight and "Royal
Decree" on the field, what if you would topdeck "Gigantes"?
What if they didn't have "Enemy Controller" or "Book
of Moon"? You'd lose "Gigantes" and they'd lose "Airknight
Parshath" and "Royal Decree"! Amazing!
The only things you have to worry about here is
enough EARTH monsters to support his summoning
requirements, and also you don't want to get a
clogged up hand, so run two "Gigantes" at MOST..
Advanced: 3/5.

Gigantes
Ahh, now heres something fun to get in to.
Gigantes is a superb monster being a special summon,
high attack, s/t removing beast that’ll fit
beautifully into any deck using 3 or more Earth type
monsters, and considering they are only surpassed in
abundance by Dark and Light types, that certainly
wont be a problem.
To put it in a bad pun, Gigantes rocks. Staple in a
rock deck, and considering he’s a special summon
with a massive heavy storm effect when he’s
destroyed in battle, think he’s a worthwhile tech to
Cyber Dragon , especially considering you can nuke
their s/t’s for 200 lp, anmd then set a Reaper or
something after.
