Chiron the Mage
Chrion was touted as a side deck staple for a brief
while; turning any Spell in your hand into a MST
could screw over many a deck that needed several
Continuous Spell and Trap cards on the field to
stall out for a win.
Today, that's no longer the case. Why? I can think
of two big reasons -- Mobius the Frost Monarch and
Royal Decree. If you need to stop Trap cards,
Decree's your best bet, and that can definitely
screw over the card stopping you from attacking more
often than not. Mobius can just take out anything,
and does it easier than Chiron could (while Chiron
would take two turns and two discards to get rid of
2 S/Ts, Mobius does it in one fell swoop.)
Chiron isn't a bad card, and could see play in a
deck that uses Enraged Battle Ox or Earth support.
Its 1800 ATK is respectable and would be really nice
if it included the trample that EBO would provide
it. But given how little side deck space we have as
it is, and much of it already dedicated between
anti-Stein, anti-Return, and changing up your own
Deck as needed, there's just not the room for it.

Chiron the Mage
1800-1000
Beast-Warrior/Earth
Level 4
For those of you who watch the anime, you know Noah
used this card in the Virtual World arc in his duel
against Kaiba to destroy his Crush Card.
Now, for most of this review, I'm going to compare
this card to Breaker the Magical Warrior.
Breaker has 1900 attack points when summoned Chiron
has 1800 attack points when summoned
Round 1 to Breaker
Breaker only has to discard his counter to use his
effect Chiron has to discard a Spell to use his
effect
Round 2 to Breaker
Breaker falls to 1600 attack after using his effect
Chiron stays at 1800 attack after using his effect
Round 3 to Chiron
Breaker is DARK
Chiron is EARTH
Round 4 to Breaker
So, even though you can (generally) only use
Breaker's effect once, Chiron isn't as good. The
reason being, even though his effect can be used
multiple times, discarding a Spell can REALLY hurt
you.
Odds are, you'll need that Spell later. However, it
could be good if you have something stong on the
field for the win and your opponent just has a
Mirror Force down.
Also, even though decks are roughly 50% Spells, you
may not have one in your hand to use the effect.
Conclusion: Good effect with a not so good cost.
Ratings:
Although not as good as Breaker, solid on hiw own.
Ratings:
3/5 all around

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Chiron the Mage
An old favourite of mine.
Ever since Chiron came out I thought he was rather
good. I've always been one to distrust my opponent's
back-row and being able to blow one of those cards
away a turn has always seemed useful.
Sadly, in practice, it never seems to work out that
way for me. I generally prefer the effect of the
spell I'm throwing away to the safety of one less
trap. Now, others might have built decks better
suited to this guy, and Earth decks can't go far
without one, but he just remains one of the cards I
would like to use.

Chiron the Mage
Man this card is good. One of the best side deck
cards available today, and a SICK Ultimate version.
This card is a great side deck choice if you play
the first game smart. Did you see a lack of
Bottomless Trap Hole, and alot of Sakuretsu Armor?
Side this in, maybe with some other Solid Spell
cards such as Metamorphosis, and if Morph is dead,
you can drop it to kill their Traps!
This thing has 1800 attack, but just 1000 defense,
which means Tsukuyomi makes it, well her slave =[.
Its an awesome card for running over..alot of stuff
such as flipped Dekoichis and stuff, and Breaker the
Magical Warrior without counter.
This card can actually be compared to a balanced
version of Breaker the Magical Warrior, with a cost.
Heh. Something to think about.
Anyways, this card is great against mirror matches
and such, but make sure you have enough Spells to
warrant its use, I side in two with 15/16 Spells
most of the time. So I usually main about 13, side
in 2/3 more and 2 Chiron the Mages. Wave Motion
Cannon is a good choice to side in with Chiron, too.
Traditional: Not sure.
Advanced: 3/5. Solid.

Chiron the Mage:
I really like this card, it’s a very versatile
little guy.
At 1800 attack , not much low level and commonly
played can match Chiron the Mage. Being Beast
Warrior, he can gain piercing from Enraged Battle
Ox, and his effect is very interesting, essentially
making any spell in your hand into a Mystical Space
typhoon, except a monster effect.
With the abundance of spells in modern decks
occasionally not all of them will be useful. Chiron
makes great use of this. He’s like the spell
recycler of the cards in the game today, often used
in decks like the situational Diamond guy deck, or
in conjunction with Magical blast for an Every turn
MST. Not bad.
The only downside to good old Chiron is that he’s
Earth, and is therefore not the commonly Chaos
little dude. Still, he’s solid enough to hold his
own, and almost as good as Breaker in some decks,
definitely worth a shot.
