in.

Magical Mallet
This is what Reload SHOULD have done from the
beginning.
Magical Mallet is a selective Reload, letting
players who need cards for a combo keep the pieces
they need and shuffle in other cards to try and draw
at the pieces they need.
It lets a player with a bunch of Tributes shuffle
them in and hopefully get something else. It lets a
Cyber-Stein player keep their Megamorph and Trunade
in hand while taking a go at the Stein.
I see no reason to play it outside of a combo deck;
although it can be great at getting rid of bad
cards, there are two problems; first, it's still a
-1 no matter how you look at it, and second, if
you're not running a combo deck and half the cards
in your hand at bad, then your deck is bad and
you're probably not going to win anyway.
(3/5 for the average score if calculating that)
5/5 for OTK combo decks
1/5 all else

Coin Flip |
And, for all the good cards we review this week that
help the meta and are worth playing, we come across
the one that has only one single, decrepit purpose:
Magical Mallet.
The evolution of the "Shuffle-Draw" mechanic is
interesting to watch. It began, of course, with
Monster Recovery, went on to Fiber Jar, switched it
up and declined in power by coming back as
Disturbance Strategy (which was actually looked at
after the release of Protector of the Sanctuary) and
then released again as Reload before ending up here,
as both Magical Mallet and, in a lesser way, Pot of
Avarice.
Aside from a few decks, there is no reason to use
this card. It does not help you, and it assumes that
the cards you currently have do not help you either.
It is good for combo decks and OTK's and the like,
where you can assemble the required pieces with much
greater speed, but aside from that, there is really
no point to using this card.
However, it is still a nice card. It is arguably the
best non-Jar non-Pot variant of the mechanic because
it lets you keep what you want and then gives you
new cards to replace the ones you don't want. Nice.
Last Turn: 4.6/5
Stein OTK: 4.4/5
General: 2/5

Magical Mallet
Normal Spell
Add any number of cards from your hand to the Deck
and shuffle it. Then draw the same number of cards
you added to the Deck.
What is there to say about this card? I got it, I
can sum it up in one sentence. This is the normal
Magic version of the Magic card Reload.
That about does it. It's a -1 (the card itself) and
resource replenishment is good, but not necessarily
guarenteed.
Ratings:
2/5 all around
Art: 3/5
You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Magical Mallet review
Yeah, I’ve been busy so I skipped the past few days.
Today we look at Magical Mallet, FTKs new nest
friend. Essentially since you only have a week left
til the bans run them in triplets now in FTKs before
they all die. After that, trade them away. Outside
of FTKs, they are junk and serve no purpose.
Traditional: 4.8/5 (really high since Scientist pwns
you and you know it)
Advanced: 3.5/5 (otks don’t do as well)
Outside of OTKs:
0.1/5 for both formats

Magical Mallet
Like all of the cards in the Duelist Packs, this is
nice, but not great.
Do not use in any Deck except combo decks, where
this could be used in place of or in addition to
Reload.
The quick-play status of Reload is generally moot,
so this Mallet is just a slightly more selective
Reload (where with Reload you would have to set the
card).
An unneccessary, but not rubbish, card.
Traditional: 3/5 (more combo decks)
Advanced: 2/5
Share and enjoy,
Ryoga

Magical Mallet
Singularly the reason Reload should NOT ever be
published again as a card in a starter deck. Its
like in ALL OF THEM.
Anyway, Magical Mallet IS Reloads replacement, and
rightly so. By being able to select the cards you
wish to exchange with cards from your deck, its
already better eg saving that Necro until you need
it later on, etc.
The ability to modify your hand allows for very
original decks to pop up , which is always a plus.
Traditional ; 3/5 Not as effective here since we
have draw power.
Advanced : 3.5/5 We recently got Graceful back, but
this still merits play.
Art : 3.5 /; 5 Ahhh, a novelty hammer. Gorgeous…
MPS : 4/5 I like it.

Magical Mallet
What can I say about this card. It is a 5/5 in any
deck needing a combo. Exodia decks, Cyber Stein,
etc.
Simply because a negative one means nothing to them
Outside of such decks, this card is a 2/5 because it
has uses, kinda like in magic the gathering it gives
you a chance to get rid of a horrid hand, but it
does nothing outside of that.
Have a nice weekend
