ExMinion OfDarkness	Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys ....falls down a Bottomless Trap Hole. That could pretty much be my entire review, but it won't be. Vampire Lord was good when people were still playing Raigeki, Dark Hole, and the like. Sacred Phoenix has even more ways to go off, an easier method of Summoning, 400 extra ATK points...but just isn't seeing the play in any competitive decks. With the total concentration on the remove from game aspect of Yu-Gi-Oh, no one is really worried about a card coming back from the Graveyard. Bottomless Trap Hole, D. D. Warrior Lady, Chaos Sorcerer, combos with either Book of Moon/Tsukuyomi and Nobleman of Crossout, and to a lesser extent, D. D. Assailant, there are just too many ways to prevent this card from getting its effect. Maybe in another metagame this thing would flourish, but not here, not now. 1/5 Traditional 1.5/5 Advanced
Dark Paladin	Closing the week we give Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys a second review, and this has the closest X-Men tie of all. The Phoenix is meant to represent Jean Grey, who evolves(ed) into the Phoenix for this movie. Keep full well in mind Sacred Phoenix is a GIRL despite popular belief. Now, let's talk about the Phoenix. Phoenix use has been on the rise once again since the "new" list alterations in April. You all know that if the Phoenix is destroyed by a card effect, even if it's your own, she revives during your next Standby Phase destroying all Magic and Trap cards on the field. The two main problems with the Phoenix are as follows, however. One, if she dies by battle, she stays in the Graveyard. Just having her killed doesn't revive her, remember people, effect. Second, if she gets removed from play, she doesn't return either. Sacred Phoenix is still quite powerful and still quite an excellent card. It really isn't a card you can just splash into your deck and hope for it to work, you really need a Fire or Phoenix deck, but she's tricky. Use her wisely. Ryoga	Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys: Now this one makes perfect sence! This phoenix isn't quite as dangerous as the one in X-Men, but the self-cooking chicken is still one of my favourite cards. Recursion, death to s/ts, and that wonderful expression with which your opponent uses all the will he/she can muster to force a D.D. monsters to the top of his/her deck make for a nicely well rounded card. Phoenix would be broken, especially considering how easy it is to tutor with Hand of Nephthys, if the D.D. monsters didn't exist. As they do, the chicken is held back to those brave/good enough to wield it with power. Traditional: 3/5 Advanced: 3.5/5 X-Men: 5/5 (it makes sence!) Share and enjoy, Ryoga
Dark Maltos	Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys As if you didn’t all figure it out in X2? The glowing hands? The lil red thing under the river at the end? Phoenix is back baby !! And lets hope X men 3 delivers. (Sorry if I just ruined some kinda big secret btw guys) Nephthys is without doubt in the category of ‘Best two tribute monster’ only receiving real competition from Dark Magician of Chaos. With its awesome revival ability, heavy storm -every- turn second ability, and an attack power on par with the one and only Red eyes back Dragon !!! Its not hard to see why its managed to flutter its way into many a deck over the last couple of years (has it been that long? Probably not) , including one of my very own, involving the Creator himself. The flaming chicken has marked itself as one of the best monsters out there, certainly one to be feared, and I can honestly say its worth the effort of summoning, especially since that has been aided by the ‘Hand of Nephthys ‘ . Try it out. Traditional : 4/5 Can it compete? Probably Advanced ; 4/5 Art : 4/5 MPS : 5/5
