Ekibyo Drakmord

Wow...I hadn't even looked at today's CotD before I wrote yesterday's.

This is the possibly playable version of Mask of the Accursed.

It forces your opponent to play out of it, but is fairly risky in today's environment. Your opponent either has two turns to get rid of the Mask, or get rid of the monster it's on before you generate a +1 with it. It also stops a big beater from attacking, possibly forcing your opponent to overextend.

The bad news? Monarchs are everywhere, and worst-case scenario your average opponent will have three Cyber Dragons in their deck that they could tribute their monster for to 1 for 1 your Ekibyo out of the game with.

The good news? This makes it possible for you to play extra reactive traps (Bottomless, most likely?) that take advantage of your opponent needing to either tribute off the monster that's Ekibyo'd, or summon an extra monster to maintain field presence. The other bad news? Ekibyo + a set M/T can get Heavied for a -1...but then again, so can any other two non-chainables.

I don't see it being good tech this format, but if Monarch use ever goes down but the aggression stays up, it could be a half-decent one-of.

Ekibyo Drakmord:
Yu-Gi-Oh's homage to the movie 'Alien.' Well, maybe.

Ekibyo may be impronouncable and unspellable but it isn't a bad card. You lock out a monster, waiting for it to be destroyed in two turns. After that time, the Ekibyo returns to your hand. Like all equips, this is liable to the equipped monster being tributed or s/t destruction. Also, this only works in a very slow deck since you've got to be willing to ignore two turns of attacks to get it to work properly. However, it can reap great rewards in the right deck.

Ekibyo Drakmord

I've seen this thing in action and it works. But today's format (filled with 3x Zaborg, 3x Firestrom Monarch, and 3x Cyber Dragon) will make you cry. It has potential and is not a bad card to use, but I believe its ability to inherently become a minus one with no gain what so ever forces me to give it a 1/5. If you play this you got BALLS:P But I'd have to ask you how it feels to see that tomato or D.D. Warrior Lady hit the Graveyard and you discard a card from your hand complements of a 2400 tribute.

If ever there was a card that could turn something to stone, this is it.

Greetings one and all, I’m back for a bit, I’m sure you all missed me. Hope you liked that story the other day, I’ve been told it’s a worthwhile read. If you’ve got anything to say about it then someone’s put up a thread about it in the Fan fic forum, but enough about me plugging my own work, on with some more of it.

Ekibyo Drakmord is an old favourite of mine, from way back in the good old days of LON. It’s a good card really, a continuous form of removal sounds great however you put it, but it does come with it’s downsides.

The Pro’s ;
Re-usable, attack preventing, and monster killing.

The Con’s ;
If they tribute the monster equipped, the card’s effectively done nothing.
It takes 2 turns minimal to pull it off.
Might as well kill the monster straight off with Smashing Ground.

All in all, it’s not THAT great, but with a slow paced meta, it could be great. Arguably in a burn deck its could be brilliant, stalling for time whilst killing monsters in the process, and re -usable. Outside of that, not so much.
