Cybernetic
Cyclopean
Continuing with the "bad hand management" theme...
Okay, so you get a 2400 no-tribute if you have no
hand. That's actually pretty good -- it can beat out
Cyber Dragons and tie with Monarchs. The problem is
what happens when you do have a hand -- he's exactly
1400, which leaves you in BIG trouble against those
Tomatoes, Giant Rats, and other recruiters. The last
thing you want is for your opponent to get to get a
+1 because they rammed their searcher into your
non-boosted Cyclopean.
Effects played for ATK boosts generally aren't worth
it unless (A) they win you the game or (B) are Rush
Recklessly played to trade off 1:1 + some damage.
1/5 all formats.

Cybernetic Cyclopean
might have been great if three things were
different about it:
1)
It was a Dark or Light Monster
2)
It was a Warrior
3)
It had been released when Chaos Emperor
Dragon – Envoy of the End was legal
As is, it’s still something to consider as TecH
in a deck running a means of searching it out
and Special Summoning it to the field. When
things are bad (that is you’re topdecking),
Giant Rat can get you a beatstick that is as
big as a Monarch! Still, Giant Rat
has so many wonderful targets already:
Injection Fairy Lily, Exiled Force,
Amazoness Swordswoman, even Morphing
Jar if you have Book of Moon ready
(yes I’ve done that before).
As mentioned yesterday, it might be worthwhile
in a kooky “Cyber sans hand” deck where
you use many of the Cyber monsters which
so often deplete or like depleted hands (this,
Cyber Archfiend for extra draw, Cyber
Dragon to get out of your hand,
Cybernetic Magician with its useful
discard-based effect, etc.)

Cybernetic
Cyclopian
This monster is not that bad. Believe it or not it
is one of the first cards I recommend to younger
duelist due to their innate ability of never having
a hand. As far as tech this monster needed just 100
more attack to be really effective, since suicide
with a monarch does nothing in a losing situation .
I look at him and want to try it out. I look at the
Swift Knight and think about trying him out too. In
a deck dedicated to cards like Dust Tornado,
Smashing Ground, and any other one for one
imaginable this monster (as well as swift knight)
would kick so much booty.
Sadly yugioh is a game that takes resources to the
match. If we were playing some other tcg or cards
like heavy storm, torrential tribute, and mirror
force did not exist I'd expect this monster to
become a staple. But such cards exist and we want
cards in hand as well on the field.
1.3/5
Just too much to go through for a 1000 point
increase. Cards like United We Stand and even Ax of
Despair do this and still grant us in hand cards.

Cybernetic Cyclopian:
You might have begun to notice a pattern this week.
Keep an eye out for the odd one out.
Another card based around topdecking, having a 2400
ATK Lv. 4 is good. It could eat anything you want it
to. Sadly, to be topdecking for it to work is still
a step too far, as once the large creature is
removed, you are in the bad position of having no
options.
Now, if anyone can find a deck that consistently
gets both players topdecking fairly quickly, these
Cybernetic card could be rather good, as you would
have two cards a turn and a monster that could knock
anything off the field. Any ideas out there?

Cybernetic Cyclopean
Cybernetic Cyclopean is Sangan/Giant Rat/Last Will
searchable mega-goodness. Cyclopean gains his 1000
ATK boost when you do not have any cards in your
hand. He’s the ultimate top-deck card and he’s a
Beast-Warrior. He’s almost perfect for Beastdown
overextensions.
I like his potential. Do I want to waste my hand
down to nothing? Probably not. However, you can play
just 1 or 2 of these if you don’t want to draw
these. I’d play this card in a Beastdown to increase
the effectiveness of my top-decks during dire
situations. The fact that he’s searchable in at
least 3 ways tells me that you can use him pretty
much when YOU feel you need to; that’s powerful.
Last Word: Cybernetic Cyclopean is pretty
underrated. You can play him in Beastdown
successfully and not run into many problems. I’m
going to go try that through this week. I’ll report
my results on my blog.
