Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Destiny Hero - Doom Lord
Common

Once per turn, if this card is in face-up Attack Position on your side of the field, you can remove from play 1 of your opponent's monsters. The player who used this effect cannot declard an attack this turn, and the removed monster will be returned to the opponent's side of the field in the same battle position during your second Standby Phase after activation.

Type - Warrior/Effect LV3
Card Number - EOJ-EN001

ExMinion OfDarkness
Destiny Hero - Doom Lord

I classify D-Hero Doom Lord as other people have the saying about suicide: a temporary solution to a permanent problem.

There are very few reasons I'd give up my battle phase voluntarily. As much as it pains me to even say the name of this card, given who it's connected to, Soul Exchange is pretty much the only respectable one I can think of, setting up all those field wipes from Mobisues and Zaborgs and hand-picks from Thestaloses.

I wouldn't give up my battle phase to remove a monster that would be coming back in two turns, and I certainly wouldn't play a monster with 600 ATK in order to do that, even if it's a DARK Warrior. There are better, more permanent removal options that can come from the warrior search of Reinforcements of the Army; there are better things to bring out with the Dark-type sarech Mystic Tomatoes can provide. I don't think it's totally useless in a dedicated D-Hero deck; it could possibly get rid of something long enough for you to set up a quick strike or bring out stronger D-Heroes, but otherwise I just don't see this ever becoming tournament viable.

1.5/5 in the D-Hero deck and 1/5 in all other places.

Ryoga
Doom Lord:
One gets the impression someone at Konami didn't like Chaos Sorcerer getting banned and tried to make a replacement. This person failed.

In neat bulletpoints,
- rubbish stats;
- only temporary removal effect (in two turns time you'd better have a Mirror Force);
- you can't attack;
- one would have thought that those claws can do slightly more than 600 damage.

Basically, do not use. Maybe Destiny Heroes would consider it, but hopefully not more than one and not for long.

Destiny Hero - Doom Lord

Finally, a good card.

Despite what the other reviewers say, D-Hero's are extremely playable. They have the ability to swarm the field, reachable via Mystic Tomato and Reinforcements of the Army, and have some funny effects.

Doom Lord is like the little kid who wants to grow up and be Black Luster Soldier.

His effect, though only lasting for 2 turns, is quite powerful. The ability to remove an annoying monster from play shuts down an opponents strategy. Remove their face down (now they have to wait 2 turns to flip and draw a card). Remove their Jinzo and then use all your traps. Get that sangan out of the way so they don't have a free tribute.

This card is really fun to use and has some of the coolest art I've ever seen on a Yu-Gi-Oh card.

Of course it has no use outside of a D-Hero or burn/stall deck,

D-Hero should be obvious, but as mentioned...

The ability to continually remove monsters from play, slows down the game.

The ability to remove a Jinzo may be all it takes for you to win the game with Secret Barrel.

3/5 in the above mentioned decks

Destiny Hero Doom lord ;

As far as cards go for the D hero’s, this one’s pretty cool.

If it wasn’t for the fact that you can’t attack after this thing, it would be damn near staple. A level 3 Warrior with an effect like that, be it temporary or not is great.

Losing a monster for no cost is sweet, albeit only for a turn or two, but imagine the results. Summon this guy, remove their last defense and attack for a lot of damage (probably not from this guy) Still, since it comes back during your second standby phase, assuming this guy is still there, you can always remove the same monster again.

As far as D hero’s go, use this if any, and in a D hero deck its staple. I’m not truly sure how you’d find a use for this outside of a D hero deck though, since you’re unable to attack the turn you do it, but whatever.

Traditional ; 3/5 This + Yata = GG eventually, and its Dark, just remember u cant attack right away
Advanced : 2/5 Worse here, more aggressive.

Art : 3/5 Pretty cool
MPS ; 4/5 Reminds me of Hermos the time hammer from the series.

DeathJester
Destiny Hero - Doom Lord

I know some players that actually use this. It’s pretty fun to use. He can remove any monster regardless of its battle position. The effect lasts until the second Standby Phase after you activated it and you can’t attack afterwards. Also, his low ATK/DEF values make him very hard to like.

On the upside, he IS a piece of removal that can be searched via Mystic Tomato, Sangan, Last Will, and Reinforcement of the Army.

Last Word: It’s temporary removal. I wouldn’t call it effective. It’s especially bad when you’re in a losing position and you summon a 600 ATK monster to try and save the day…

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced 2/5
