Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day
|
|
Lone Wolf
Common
You can only activate this card if there is only 1
monster on your side of the field, and it is "Chu-Ske
the Mouse Fighter", "Monk Fighter", or "Master
Monk". That monster is not destroyed as a result of
battle, and is unaffected by any of your opponent's
monster effects.
Type - Trap
Card Number - TLM-EN060

Lone Wolf
This is what makes the whole strategy click for
those crazy enough to use it.
If you have only one monster, and it's one of the 3
it's compatible with, you get an invincibile wall --
not effected by any monster effects (so no X-Force/Zaborg)
and can't be killed in battle. Smashing Ground can
take it out, as can Torrential/Ring/Force, but
Smashing doesn't show up in every deck, and the
Traps I mentioned are all 1-of's.
Odds are, your opponent will eventually find a way
to get rid of your Lone Wolf'd monster eventually --
but not in draft! Trust me, I was at The Lost
Millennium Sneak Preview, and I saw games end
because someone got Lone Wolf + a compatible card,
they kept all 27 cards in their deck, and got the
Lone Wolf combo out early, thus earning an
invincible wall (no targeted removal effects) and
decking the opponent for the win.
1/5 in tournament play
4/5 in the Monk deck, for giving it a chance against
some of the stronger cards
5/5 in TLM Draft for owning hard

Lone Wolf:
OK, I must admit to never expecting a mouse to
receive support, but there it is. Right before my
eyes.
Bad things about this card include being a slow
trap, being continuous, and not stopping your
opponent's spells and traps. Good things include
making something crap into half of a Spirit Reaper.
Things that don't matter include the restriction to
only one monster on the field as, if you're playing
this lot, you'll only have one monster since they'll
all have died already.
Basically, its support we don't need for something
that isn't greatly helped by it anyway.

Lone Wolf
wow, a good support card for a weak theme.
This is the trap we want when our opponent drops
ZABORG (I've been misspelling that for almost a year
now:P). Either they waste his effect or attack are
indestructible monster. The sad thing is that s/t
removal will still mow them down. Thus maybe a deck
utilizing this and 3 my body as a shield/solemn
judgement might be effective.
But as far as my dueling career has gone, I have
never played against a monk deck. I have never seen
this card on the field. But I can see it being a
good counter to the current metagame.

Lone Wolf
So we look at Lone Wolf from the TLM set today.
Which will help support you Monk players. Its a
Continuous Trap that will make it so your Monk and
some other monster wont die in battle or get killed
by a monster effect. They still can be destroyed be
Traps/Spells. Many people are playing heavy
spell/trap removal. So I dont think it can be really
good.
Def. play this in a Monk deck though, could be very
good. Try, try, try some
more. And when you find out the decktype is crap.
Quit Ygo.

Lone Wolf
This card KILLS in Lost Millennium draft! There
wasn’t any Spell/Trap based monster removal except
for…Kaminote Blow. You need Chu-Ske the Mouse
Fighter, Monk Fighter, or Master Monk to activate
this card. When you activate this card you have to
choose 1 of the above monsters while it is on your
field. While this card and the chosen monster are
face-up on the field, the monster cannot be
destroyed as a result of battle nor will it be
affected by monster effects.
It’s a cool card. It makes your monster immune to
every one of the mainstream monsters in the format.
The only things you have to worry about are the
opponent’s Spell & Traps.
Last Word: It’s a cool card. I like it. If I built a
deck around these Kung-Fu masters I’d play this
card.
