Magician's Valkyria
Basic Summary:
Finally a decent somewhat workable card to use (
thats not now banned =/ etc EoTS ) from the popular
Shonen Jump magazine which usually I get to
read the Naruto manga :D. Now I have been
waiting this card to released ever since I began to
play YGO a few years ago with my first deck being
Dark Magician so prepare for a long review since
I have a lot of history with mages. Now much like
theme based support there is no need to really
mention that Valkyria is strickly a
Spellcaster based deck only. Now being Light
doesn't really mine much anymore but with decent
1600/1800 stats she can hold her own in DeF giving
your other mages protection like Skill Dark
Magician before it can add 3 counters. Also like
Maruading Captain get two on the field ( Or
bigger mage like Dark Magician of Chaos ) you
have yourself a lock from all attacks. Now like I
just mentioned getting two or three on the field is
pretty much the main goal to build up resources to
pull off a win which is hard for these kind of decks
against mainstream style decks but a really good way
to achieve this is through Magician's Circle.
Now have Magician's Circle set up then attack
with Valkyria then pull out another or better
yet Injection Fairy Lily since your opponent
can't attack with searchers against Injection
Fairy Lily to make you pay the cost and still
have a monster on the field ( trust me I know this
comes from experience ). Now if you run Spellcaster
I highly suggest maining triple of her with a few
copies of Magician's Circle to swarm and
maintain field pressure for your opponent.
Conclusion:
I like having her in my trade binder to remind me of
my humble beginnings I may take her out of my binder
and rebuild my old deck again but enough about me
back to business if you run Spellcaster you would be
crazy not to run her in triples with Magician's
Circle.
Traditional Format > 1.5/5:
Like Maruading Captain its hard to pull of
the lock effect here since there is soo much mass
removal best to leave her in the trade binder if you
play in traditional tournaments.
Advance Format > 5/5(Spellcaster):
She is good but only in her own deck with proper
support.
Artwork > 5/5:
Actually she is far superior to DMG in detail in the
artwork.
