Strike of Neos tried valiantly to make Normal
monsters playable, and try to make you build a
decktype or two of only Normal Monsters with some
recent support. Advanced Ritual Art was one of those
cards.
People generally don't like Rituals because of all
the card investment that is involved in summoning
them. You have to have all the necessary pieces, the
summoning card, the Ritual Monster, plus whatever is
necessary to tribute in your hand (or on the field).
However, Advanced Ritual Art makes you send the
necessary tribute monsters from your Deck, instead
of your Hand. That is simply awesome.
Pitch a Blue Eyes and summon Demise, Shinato, The
Masked Beast, or Reshef the Dark Being. This card
does make Rituals more playable, but only in a
certain decktype.
They need to make a card that does the exact same
thing, just omit the word "normal" and that would be
sweetness, in a word.
Ratings:
5/5 in a Normal Monster Ritual deck
1/5 elsewhere, obviously

Advanced Ritual Art :
Ok. Rituals might not be as costly as one might have
thought.
Combined with Manju of the 10,000 Hands, certain
rituals, like Demise from earlier in the week, could
be remotely playable in casual. Milling monster to
the grave is often rather useful, and with an entire
deck to choose from you can probably find some
combination to get the exact level of the monster
you wish to summon. However, I still hate rituals as
its far too much effort for nothing game-breaking.

Advanced Ritual Art
Demise can rise to glory, Exodia has a new OTK, and
Doom Dozer has a new buddy. This card is downright
responsible for a new decktype. The fact it is a
common demonstrates Konomi totally underestimating
yet another card. It belongs in decks that utilize
rituals, as such it is the best ritual spell card to
date and grants such a theme an actual shot at
glory.
5/5
Only for one kind of deck. |

April 12th
As we continue this week, we look at a card that
actually make Ritual monsters a little more
playable….
ADVANCED RITUAL ART
[Ritual Spell Card]
Select 1 Ritual Monster in your hand. Send Normal
Monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard whose total
Levels are equal to that Ritual Monster's. Ritual
Summon a card with the name of the selected Ritual
Monster from your hand.
We all remember how hard is was to ritual summon
that Dark Master Zork back in the day. We need the
Ritual Spell card, we needed monsters with enough
stars to fulfill the requirement, and we need the
Zork itself. That’s at LEAST 3 cards. Well, Advanced
Ritual Art brings your needs down to 2. Just
Advanced Ritual Art, and the Ritual monster.
Obviously, the downside to this is that it MAKES you
run normal monsters. If you could send effect
monsters, people would be sending DMoC, Jinzo,
Treeborn Frog, and who knows what else to the
graveyard to be used later for various purposes.
With that in mind, players turn that fact into a
blessing. As I mentioned earlier this week, the big
monster that is being used with it right now is
Demise, King of Armageddon. You go through your deck
with Senju, Manju, Sonic Bird, Magical Mallet, and
such until you have a Doom Dozer, a Ritual Art, a
Demise, and either Megamorph or Metamorphosis in
your hand, and, maybe for to be extra safe, a Royal
Decree that’s been down for a turn.
You bring out Demise with Art by sending Insect
Knights and/or Neo Bugs to the graveyard (both of
which are 4 star normal insect monsters). You then
pay 2000 to “blow up the world.” At this point you
chain Decree if necessary to stop pesky cards like
Waboku or Threatening Roar. Then you remove the
previous mentioned Insect Knights/Neo Bugs from the
game to summon Doom Doozer. Then you can either
metamorphosis Demise for Cyber Twin, or Megamorph
Doom Dozer (making him a 5600) considering that your
life is lower than your opponent’s, which shouldn’t
be an issue since you paid 2000 for Demise. Then you
attack for game.
If you are going to run Rituals, while it doesn’t
have to be Demise, this is the way to go. I can’t
say it makes Ritual Monster decks tier one, but it
certainly puts them a little higher up on the map.
Traditional: 3/5
Advanced: 5/5 (It the pivotal card in a ritual deck)

So Advanced Ritual Art, a great piece of Ritual
support to ease the strain on their hand. An obvious
downside is the requirements of the sacrifices being
normal monsters, but that isn’t too big of a
downside and is manageable. From the competitive
side of things this card will not likely see any
play outside of the Demise otk.
