Dark Paladin
Monday

Well, it's almost Christmas, and we open the week with Gladiator Beast-Helaclenos, who is a very powerful Fusion monster. First, let's talk about his summoning.

Generally Fusion material monsters are sent to the Graveyard, or removed from play, but here, they are returned to the Deck. I will also mention that Helaclenos requires three monsters for a Fusion...one specific Gladiator Beast, and then two of your choice. Another positive is that Polymerization isn't required.

Then, you have a Fusion monster with 3000 attack points, which is good, but not enough to warrant playing on its own. However, the effect is balanced and I would play this card if I were playing Gladiator Beasts.
By discarding one card from your Hand, you can negate the activation of a Magic OR Trap card, and destroy it. Absolutely fantastic, as it is a very balanced effect for nice destruction.

Well it looks like we're starting the week off with a Gliadial Beasts again.

Ok, so here we have a fusion of the Gladial Beasts, and not a bad one at that. He's a Fire (good), Beast-Warrior (Not bad), Fusion with 3000 ATK (great) and a killer effect. Honestly, this is probably one of the best effects in the game. Unfortunately, it takes a grand total of three Gladial Beasts to get him out, of whom one must be Laquer.

- His first effect is actually fairly decent, as you don't have to tribute any of your own monsters, and you don't need Polymerization to bring him out.
- His second effect is quite devastating. This essentially lets you shut down half an opponants deck. It does have the cost of a card from hand, but that's to be expected. Unfortunately, you're probably going to be using all cards in your hand just to get out three GBeasts.

So all in all, don't base a deck around him. If you're playing GBeasts, and you happen to have Laquer plus two other GBeasts out and about a few extra cards in hand, then hey, go for it. He's a fusion, so the rating is kind of completely pointless. I'll just rate him on how effective he is once he hits the field.

Traditional: 4/5 There are so many things that are worth stopping for just one card.
Advanced: 3/5 Fewer things here, but he can still make quite a dent in your opponents options. Which is always a good thing.

The First Hokage Gladiator Beast Heraklinos

This week we are continuing on with GLAS and a Reviewer's choice. So without further ado, I'll catch up on my reviews. :)

Heraklinos is a Gladiator Beast Fusion monster that definitely has a lot of potential in Gladial decks, especially if you can get him out. The only problem with him is that you need 1 specific Beast and then 2 others for him to hit the field, however, once he hits the field, it's pretty much good game.

He's a 3,000 attacker, and has the effect of negating your opponent's spells/traps by discarding 1 card from your hand. If you run into Mirror Force, discard 1 card and negate Mirror Force, pretty simple, I think. 3,000 attack can run over almost anything in this format. The only downside would be that he's a fusion, and requires 3 Gladiator Beasts on the field.

In Limited, I don't see Gladiator Beasts doing so well, so never use him here.

My Ratings:

Advanced:[Gladiator Beast Deck]: 3.5/5
Traditional: 1/5
