Dark Paladin
Thursday

Today we look at Necroface, a very interesting Zombie monster, who has a paltry 1200 attack, and a solid 1800 defense. On the first note here, when Normal Summoned, all cards that either player has removed from the game, are returned to their respective Decks.

This card then gains 100 attack for each of those cards. I'd be thinking you would want at least 13 cards removed total, so then Necroface would have 2500 attack points, enough to take out the 2400 attack terrors. That, however, is a lot of monsters.

You see (yes, I'm ignoring the second effect for a moment...), I don't really see this as a card for Zombies. It's a very combo oriented card. In a deck that focuses on lots of removal, this card could be huge. Zombies do removal too, but not on a grand enough scale that I see Necroface being useful.

As for the second effect, when this card is removed from play, not destroyed, but removed, each player removes the top 5 cards from their Deck from play. That's interesting, for disruption, at the least.

Necroface

Zombie/Dark     Level 4

1200 ATK/1800 DEF

When this card is Normal Summoned, shuffle all removed from play cards into their owner’s decks.  This card gains 100 ATK for each of those cards.  When this card is removed from play, both players remove from play top 5 cards of their deck.

Creepy.

I would like to first point out that there is a grammatical error in the card text.  (ignoring myself) So…this little doll is $200?  Beautiful!

This card’s potential lies not within ATK boost ability, but within the Deck disruption ability.   Since a Necroface removed from play by another Necroface may trigger ANOTHER Necroface, it can instantly remove 15 cards from your opponent’s deck from play.  Combine it with Inferno Tempest, Bazoo the Soul-Eater, Lady Assailant of Flames, Nobleman of Crossout, and whatnot other cards that I may have forgotten, then Return from the Different Dimension to seal the game.

Well, if you are willing to spend $600 on cards that have Cindy Crawford’s face drawn over it, I will not stop you (if you read Dave Berry’s “Ugly Thing About Beauty,” you will get my joke…). Demise has been the successor of Cyber-Stein, and it relatively consistently threatens any unprepared duelists.

There is not much about this card except OTK potential.  Zombie decks only needed Il Blud and Zombie Masters,  and Mystic Tomato will probably search Sangan, Snipe Hunter, or Spirit Reaper.  Oh, and it is $200.

Traditional: 2/5                  Well…OTK is always faster here.

Advanced:  3/5 + $200 / number of packs you opened for this  Demise is a better choice.

The First Hokage Necroface

Today we look at the little scary doll called Necroface. This Secret Rare fetches over $200 which surpasses Il Blud in every way. In addition to its hefty price tag, if you're going to be making a deck around this thing, you're going to need 3. If you have that kind of money, you're going to have a lot of fun with this deck.

Necroface is a 1200/1800 monster which is decent, its also 4 stars. Its effect is where its good. When it is removed from play, both players remove from play the top 5 cards of their deck. So basically, if you hit 1 Necroface and then another, you're milling out 15 cards from your opponent. In addition, when you normal summon Necroface, all removed from play cards are shuffled back into their owner's decks, and Necroface gains 100 attack for each of those cards.

So let's say both players had 25 cards each removed from play, this little thing would have an attack of 6200, which is very nice.

As far as what you'd play this thing in, it's all about Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure, so it can be removed from play as fast as possible for the deck/OTK to work. Necroface is good Nobleman of Crossout bait as well for your opponent. Necroface would not be played in Zombies in any way shape or form because Zombies rely on the graveyard where as Necroface is all about removal.

If you can build a Necroface deck, go for it, as it is one of the most annoying decks to face off against especially if you get Macro Cosmos out really early. Now, the deck can be beat, but it takes time and patience in order to do so.

My Ratings:

Advanced: 4/5

Traditional: 2/5

Art: 4.25/5
