Enishi, Shien’s Chancellor
6-Star
Warrior/Effect 2200 ATK/1200DEF
This card cannot be Normal Summoned
or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except
by removing from play 2 “Six Samurai” monsters from
your graveyard. Once per turn, you can destroy 1
face-up monster. If you activate this effect, this
card cannot attack this turn.
Well, this card was
SUPPOSEDLY Chaos Sorcerer for “Six Samurai” (SS)
theme.
This card is a
cross-breed between Chaos Sorcerer and…Black Luster
Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. I know that is a
very bad metaphor because I never mentioned the
fact that Enishi is still weaker in stats than
standard 2400 ATK, and destroying without removing
from play is also not as desirable when nearly
anything can be brought back when Light and Darkness
Dragon is capable of reviving any fallen monsters.
In my opinion, this card
is similar to Crystal Seer in that it is one of the
best foil cards to pull, and the card itself is very
useful. However, Enishi has neither the
substitution ability nor Six Samurai in its name,
meaning you cannot summon Yaichi and use Enishi as a
Grandmaster. Bummer.
Of course, immediate +1
upon summoning is undeniably powerful.
Nevertheless, considering Six Samurai utilizes
graveyard as Gladiator Beasts utilize the deck,
removing 2 SS monsters will harm the playability of:
*Return of the Six Samurai
*Double-Edged Sword Technique
*Grandmaster of the Six Samurai
*Cunning of the Six Samurai
*Enishi, Shien’s Chancellor
While two Traps have not shown a lot
of plays, Cunning of the Six Samurai and Grandmaster
of the Six Samurai definitely support utility of the
SS theme, a critical element. Notice multiple
Enishis hinder each other. Since Enishi cannot be
directly searched from the deck effectively other
than Foolish Burial (-1 so that you can use Warrior
Returning Alive?), the probability of Enishi
appearing at the right time becomes slim.
Six Samurai focuses on generating
advantages by keeping multiple SS monsters on the
field. Because there are no viable ways to bring
back removed-from-play SS’s, the graveyard lets the
SS user to freely access Swiss army knife (here it
comes again) with Warrior Returning Alive or
Grandmaster of the Six Samurai. Include an extra
Spirit of Six Samurai if you are using this; it
protects SS, it IS SS, and it will mill you through
deck.
Traditional:
2.1/5
Urgh….too many mass removals
Advanced:
3/5
It is not a bad card, but it deviates from the
strength of SS. |
