Friday
Well, I don't know what the hell is going on this
week, but we close out the week by looking at not
one, but TWO Normal monsters. TWO NORMAL MONSTERS!
What do I say? Both are Level 3 monsters. Both have
1700 attack, letting them attack under Gravity Bind
and eluding them under Level Limit Area B. That's
fantastic. Did I mention they're both NORMAL
monsters?
I got nothing...They are Normal Monsters.
Ratings:
1.05/5 all around
Art: 2/5 both
You stay classy, Planet Earth :) |

Sonic Duck/Mad Lobster :
And these manage to not be good.
Virtually any effect monster is better than any
normal monster because it does something else. Now,
1700 ATK is perfectly respectable, and on a Lv. 3,
you can work around Gravity Bind and Lv. Limit Area
B (this was a popular anti-burn choice of my brother
a while back).
However, for a beatstick to be worthwhile, I think
it needs to be able to take down virtually
everything in its path (i.e. 1900 ATK), so these
slip into the ranks of best crud.

You
know, I realized that my last two cotds weren’t up
to my normal standards. I guess I’ve gotten rusty.
So I’m hoping that today I get back to normal, if
not please bear with me.
So today we are looking at too of the most powerful
monster cards in the game. Both Sonic Duck and Mad
Lobster are very dangerous in the hands of the right
duelist. That’s right duelist who work for PETA.
Both offer great support for the chicken in
combating corporate America food chains.
Being vanilla level three’s with solid ATK makes
them the backbone for weenie decks. Being able to
hit under g-bind and llab, while having above
average ATK, makes them perfect for those decks. The
vanilla also offers solid synergy for support cards.
I could see some fun decks being made around this,
but at the competitive level they lack the staying
power and efficiency that most tier one decks have.
The problem is that these two can’t do anything to
support themselves, and late game when topping
you’ll run into the problems cause by having such
strong synergy between cards. But for fun go for it.

Sonic Duck/Mad Lobster
These cards are deck specific. I once had a friend
who used them and won with them. If you run a bunch
of Rush Recklessly (shrink in a few weeks from my
understanding) and a bunch of Normal monster
support, G-Bind, and Level-Limit Area B you've got
yourself the center of a weenie rush deck. But
unless your playing such a deck these guys are
pointless. Only run when your using some form of
support. Sonic Duck works great with Icarus Attack.
But unless you run the extra cool support do not
waste your time.
4/5 in such mentioned deck
1/5 if you just run them to run something new. If
you do, have your friends slap you in the face. |

Sonic Duck/Mad Lobster
These are two 1700 ATK 3-star
monsters; good for hiding under stall cards.
Last Word:
That’s about it. You can use ‘em with
Justi Break and Non-Spellcasting Area for starters.
I’m not experienced with Normal Monsters.

And
to end off this week, we review a card that doesn’t
have much to review on
Mad Lobster
Level 3
Attack 1700/Defense 1000
Normal Monster
A gourmet food renowned by the Dark World upper
crust. It has sensational flavor.
Umm….uhhhh, this is a normal monster that apparently
is eaten by everyone’s favorite Dark World monsters.
Just by looking at Goldd and friends, you would
think they eat souls or something? But lobster? I
wonder….does Goldd like his lobster fried, baked, or
grilled?
Anyway, being level 3, this card (and its wind
counterpart, Sonic Duck) are the most powerful
“weenie” normal monsters we have. 1700 for a level 3
is pretty good, so it can attack under Level Limit
Area-B and Gravity Bind. And being level 3, they can
combo with some of the Normal Monster spell and trap
cards from Ancient Sanctuary.
And, ummmm…..well….I think that’s all I have to say.
See you all next week, hopefully lobster stir fry
and roasted duck flam•bé free.
*goes to order a pizza*

Sonic Duck/Mad Lobster Ummm… pass.
George Bush: I play Mad Lobster, end turn
Tony Blair: I play Sonic Duck, attack
Your Mad lobster
George Bush/Tony Blair: DAM!
Seriously this card is good… look the most
powerful men in the world play it.
Um it gets under Gravity Bind and Level Limit
Area B.
"A duck which can walk at a sonic speed.
Sometimes, he cannot deal with his incredible pace
and loses control."
Sounds like me o.0
