Dark Paladin
Monday

Today we open the week by (again) looking at Exiled Force, who can now be used three per deck according to the new Ban List rotation.

Searchable by Giant Rat, Reinforcement of the Army, and Sangan, easy to obtain as a common via the Warrior Structure Deck.

Exiled Force is an extremely versatile card. He can target face-up or face-down monsters. He is an amazing one for one that has seen play in many a deck, but seems to vary depending on the current meta.

He can be extremely useful in a pinch, but he isn't always going to be something you necessarily want to use. Sacred Phoenix and Vampire Lord both laugh in Exiled's face. Unless you win that turn, they will be back the next turn.

Last Will being Restricted also hurt the playability and combos of our friend here, and keep things in mind. If Exiled is your only monster, and your opponent has more than one, it may hurt you to play him.

How many should you play? I'd probably still stick with only one, maybe two, even in a dedicated Warrior/Toolbox deck. Personally, I would think anything else would simply be overkill. It all comes down to preference.

Exiled Force earns a solid 3.75/5 across the board.Art: 3/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
Bob Doily Exiled force

So our buddy here has just been given the freedom to be run in threes. Now while some decks will abuse this, others won’t be able to. With the loss of Last Will, Exiled Force lost his best friend. This should control the overall abusiveness, especially within any otks that develop in the new meta. This will also help curb use in multiples because of the higher chance of leaving an open field.

He still has great synergy with other cards that allow you to extend. A CyDragon to xForce drop is definitely nice or grabbing at the end of a giant rat chain. Overall quite a useful tool, with good synergy and support, he now adds the flexibility to be ran in as many as you can support.

Traditional: 2.5/5 too much removal to be needed
Advanced: 3.75/5
Turkeyspit Exiled Force

What is there to say about this card? It is a straight 1-for-1 exchange. But is that all? We have lots of 1-for-1 exchange cards, so what makes Exiled Force any different?

I'm glad you asked ^_^

Here is why Exiled Force is inferior to the other forms of 1-for-1 removal:

- You (normally) use up your Normal Summon to use this card.

This isn't really a problem if you already have a monster on the field, summoned him with Cyber Dragon / another Special Summon, or if you summoned him to the field via Giant Rat or Warrior Lady of the Wasteland.

Ok, now here is why Exiled Force is superior to the other forms of 1-for-1 removal:

- it's searchable: Reinforcement of the Army, Giant Rat, Warrior Lady of the Wasteland
- it's revivable/reusable: Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted, The Warrior Returning Alive
- it destroys face-up and face-down monsters: unlike Smashing Ground, Fissure or Nobleman of Crossout. The only other comparable cards are Raigeki Break or Tribute to the Doomed, both of which are 2-for-1's
- it's almost impossible to stop: the only cards that can prevent Exiled Force from working are either 2-for-1's (Horn of Heaven, Divine Wrath) require hefty LP costs (Solemn Judgement, My Body as a Shield) or are not normally seen in competitive play (King Tiger Wanghu, Stumbling, LLAB, the latter two which need to be comboed with Trap Hole / Ring of Destruction).

So, a searchable, revivable, relatively unstoppable card that can destroy any one monster on the field, face-up or face-down, and now it's allowed at 3 per deck! I have always objected to Exiled Force being higher then 1, and for good reason. This card alone makes so many other cards less effective, for example:

- Recruiters
- Jinzo
- Horus
- Big Shield Gardna
- Flip Effects
- Reaper
- Reflect Bounder
etc.

Now, for the most part we can use Spells or Traps to remove the above monsters, so why the hate on Exiled Force? Because you simply cannot SEARCH or REVIVE cards like Smashing Ground or Nobleman of Crossout. Sure, you can topdeck Nobleman of Crossout as soon as your opponent sets their Morphing Jar, but with 3x Exiled Force and 2x Reinforcement of the Army, not to mention Premature Burial and Call of the Haunted, the chances of your opponent getting Exiled Force when they need it are pretty darned good.

Sadly, we have 6 months of Exiled Force at 3 (after enduring 6 months of it being at 2) and hopefully by then Konami will come to their senses.

------------------------------

Traditional:

3/5 - it sees some play, but they have Raigeki and Tribe which are both better.

Advanced:

5/5 - in an aggro deck there are few reasons to not run at least 1 of these cards.

Tebezu Exiled Force

4/5

A well balanced card that makes Horus decks scared. It is because of this and this alone that Nomi-monsters will never have a shot at being played.

Versatile and reachable. I prefer Newdoria due to 1200 attack and Dark Stats, but this guy makes offers control in countless ways. Watch for those sandmoth, sangan, frog hits.
Lonely Wolf Monday, February 26

Today we look at a very popular card that most aggressive players love, and all players love to hate.

Exiled Force
Effect Monster
Level 4
Warrior
1000 Attack/1000 Defense

Who doesn’t know what this card does? You simply tribute this card and you take another monster on the field with it to the graveyard. A 1 for 1. Simple. It’s a warrior, so it’s searchable by Reinforcement of the Army and A Warrior Returning Alive when it’s in the graveyard, it’s got 1000 attack and defense so it can be searched by Giant Rat, Sangan, Last Will, and Witch of the Black Forest. It combos great with Last Will, Pot of Avarice, and Premature Burial. This is simply a great card for any aggressive deck whether it’s a Warrior Toolbox deck, Monarch deck, earth deck, or whatever, as it can take out almost every last monster threat, face up, or face down, that you might face.

The only downside to this card is that it uses your summon for the turn, so you might be leaving yourself vulnerable unless you have some defense to back you up.

Sorry for the short review, but it shouldn’t take much to realize why this card is great.
