Welcome to a new week of cards! We open this week
with an Insect from Shadow of Infinity,
Anteatereatingant.
I have to say, I really don't care for this card. It
is a Level 5 monster, but you can't summon it by
tributing for it. You have to send two Magic or Trap
cards from your side of the Field to the Graveyard
to Special Summon it.
Then, once per turn, Anteatereatingant can destroy
one Magic or Trap card on your opponent's Field.
That's good, but then, if you choose to do so, it
can't attack. Furthermore, it only has 2000 attack,
so a Cyber Dragon (which is easier to Special
Summon) can run right over it.
I wouldn't use this, even in an insect Deck. Sorry
folks, it really isn't that good.
Ratings:
1.5/5 all, even in Insect Decks

Anteatereatingant
I've been telling people for a while now that this
is one of the best common monsters made to date. It
should never be used in the main deck, but in the
side deck this guy offers so much versatility it
makes me happy to win games I shouldn't due to it.
Lets see...
Gem Beast
Burn
Gadget
Stall
Volcanic Doomfire
Gravekeeper's
etc.
I have used this card against every one of these
decks and been successful with it. The key to using
it is to sacrifice Premature Burial, Royal Decree,
and other cards that have paid for themselves. I've
also used this against Demise (and Cyber Stein) to
add an extra 2000 attacker on the field. We all have
to face the fact that smashing ground is useless
against Gem Beast/stall, thus this card allows us to
utilize a card that may or may not be useful if were
unsure. I find it funny so many of my opponents have
never seen this used.
4/5
For the side deck only because it offers versatility
and surprise. If you run this in the main deck an
OTK better be present someplace b/c it basically
gives the game away when used against Monarch (or
anything else not dependent upon continuous
spells/traps) |

Hey all! Once again I vanished for two weeks….got
hung up with final exams and other issues…but I’m
back for another week of reviews.
Today’s card is over a year old, and it’s never seen
any serious play either…
SOI-EN022 Anteatereatingant
Earth/Insect/5/2000/500
Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned of Set.
This card cannot be Special Summoned except by
sending 2 Spell or Trap Cards on your side of the
field to the Graveyard. This card can destroy 1
Spell or Trap Card on your opponent's side of the
field, but it cannot attack this turn if you
activate this effect.
So, you give up 2 spell/traps on your side of the
field to bring out this 2000 attack bug. That right
there doesn’t say much good about this guy. Giving
up two, usually good, spell/trap(s) is not a good
thing. And only having 2000 attack means it falls
prey to everything Cyber Dragon and up.
The effect allows it to destroy a spell trap on the
field, which ain’t bad…..but then you have to give
up attacking with it, which leaves it a sitting duck
for the Cyber Dragon or whatever is to come next
turn.
In short, too steep a cost, for a sub-par effect.
Mobius screams much louder than this card.

Level 5
Earth
[Insect/Effect]
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This
card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 2
Spell or Trap Cards on your side of the field to the
Graveyard. This card can destroy 1 Spell or Trap
Card on your opponent's side of the field, but it

2000/500
Anteatereatingant, wow that is a mouthful to say. I
don't really like this card too much. First off it
only has 2000 ATK, and that is nothing to Cyber
Dragon and also Monarchs. This card is seemingly
useable in Crystal Beast decks, but it's not as good
as Magna-Slash Dragon. Sure Magna-Slash Dragon you
have to tribute for, but the effect is really good
and you can still attack. With Anteatereatingant you
have to say goodbye to 2 spell or traps on your
field, and that isn't always nice to do. Sure it can
open up your row to bring back Treeborn, but then
your opponent doesn't need to use Heavy Storm. I
only see this card fit in Crystal Beasts, but even
so, there are better options. Using the effect makes
it unable to attack, which is a huge price to pay
for such an effect. There are a lot better cards out
there than this. Sure you can Metamorphosis it out
for Dark Balter the Terrible, but you have to give
up so much just to do that, usually not worth it.
Traditional: 1/5 Does nothing here
Advanced: 1/5 Still does nothing, if it had more
attack and it could attack after using the effect
then it would be a lot better. Better alternatives
are Spell Striker, Magna-Slash Dragon and Gravi-Crush
Dragon.

Anteatereatingant
This was certainly an interesting card when it was
released...and if it wasn't for many decks having
better ways to clear out M/Ts or make use of its
own, it would have seen more play.
A 2,000 ATK Special Summon isn't a bad thing -- it's
just 100 shy of Cyber Dragon, and people play 3 of
that in almost all decks. Having to give up two S/Ts
is rough, but fair. To balance that out, it can give
up attacking to pick off opposing M/Ts. It could
leave you vulnerable (especially with how many
things the opponent can throw out that have over 2k
ATK) but if they can't get rid of it, you can keep
nuking S/Ts and clearing the way for other monsters.
Honestly though, with Mobius, Dust Tornado, that new
monster you can tribute to destroy a face-up Spell
or Trap on the field (I forget its name), among
other things, this guy really isn't needed. He was
good in the draft for that set but not much else.
