Wow...this is a little card that packs a BIG punch.
At first glance, Volcanic Scattershot is nothing
special. A Level 2 monster with 500 attack and 0
defense of the Fire/Pyro type. However, he does have
a couple of effects.
This first being the burn effect. When sent to the
Graveyard, Scattershot inflicts 500 points of damage
to your opponent. 500 isn't anything to write home
about, but it is something, and traditional enough
for a Pyro monster.
Secondly, if you send this to the Graveyard for the
effect of a "Blaze Accelerator" card, by sending two
other Volcanic Scattershot cards from your Hand
and/or Deck, you can destroy all monsters your
opponent controls.
Awesome! Destroying all your opponent's monsters is
almost always a good thing to do. For those of you
who are wondering, I looked on UDE.com, and here's
something you may be interested in knowing:
If this card is sent to the Graveyard for the effect
of a “Blaze Accelerator” card, its effect to inflict
500 damage to your opponent does not activate.
Ratings:
Fire Volcanic (constructed build): 3.5/5 A nice
piece of burn, and a chance to destroy all your
opponent's monsters? Sign me up.

Volcanic Scattershot
I’ve been testing with a ‘Volcanic’
themed deck. Volcanic Scattershot is definitely one
of my favorite cards in the series.
The Raigeki effect is more than worth
the 3 slots you use for it and the 500 damage per
copy that goes to the Graveyard.
Anyone using this outta give this a
try.
Last Word:
A deck with 3 of each Blaze
Accelerator, Volcanic Shell, Volcanic Scattershot,
and Volcanic Rocket will find that your opponent
won’t have a creature on the field for any reason
what so ever. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Hey guys, this week I’ll be going
over the Nationals Decklists that were posted
yesterday. I’ll be talking Nationals over with a few
people I know that were there to get an accurate
picture of what it was like and what was played.
I know…the season is technically
over. However, that’s only for about a month or two,
maybe less. If you want to get ready for the next
season, be sure to stop by my blog at

Volcanic Scattershot
Level 2
Fire
[Pyro-Effect]
When this card is
sent to the Graveyard, inflict 500 damage to your
opponent. If this card is sent to the Graveyard for
the effect of a "Blaze Accelerator" card, you can
send 2 "Volcanic Scattershots" from your hand/deck
to destroy all monsters your opponent controls.
500/0
Well this card may not be Volcanic Shell, but it's
still really nice. If it is sent to the graveyard,
there is a quick 500 LPs your opponent loses. Being
able to be discarded by Blaze Accelerator really
helps out the deck, so there is even more support
for Blaze Accelerator and Pyro decks. If you see
your opponent really swarming fast with 3-4 monsters
or even goats, this can really be useful just to
kill off the field. Sure in other decks that aren't
Pyro I would use Lightning Vortex, and even then
your opponent would still lose the 500. So overall
this is a good card to be able to discard and to do
damage. Think of Snipe Hunter, destroy a card, and
do 500 damage! That is amazing!
Traditional: 1/5 Really nothing to do here
Advanced: 3/5 So many ways this can be used. Snipe
Hunter, Blaze Accelerator, any discard, this is
really nice.

Volcanic Scattershot
Luckily, I have someone at my local who is
trying this deck out, so I actually know what
most of the cards do without having to look them
up.
Scattershot is really only good as Blaze
Accelerator fodder -- the 500 damage can be nice
if you have to set it, but as the rulings stand,
if you send it for Blaze, its 500 damage effect
doesn't go through. An unconditional Raigeki is
nice, and being able to send the other two from
the deck is great (which also boosts some of
your other potential Volcanic effects) but it
won't be consistent enough that you'll
constantly be Raigeki-ing opponents.
It's still not bad at what it does, but beyond
that I still don't see the deck as Tier 1.
2.5/5
