E-Hero Ocean

Can someone say "massive combos"?

I mean...holy crap, this guy's good support. It's a +1 every turn as long as you have E-Heroes to bounce, and has that perfect 1500 ATK stat, along with the Warrior sub-type. It will be ridiculously easy to force this guy onto the field. Granted, I'm no expert on E-Hero decks, but I know when a card doesn't suck.

...one more thing -- this guy can pull back an E-Hero that has been Snatch Stolen by your opponent. When you have a built-in answer to one of the power cards that just about every non-OTK deck in existence runs, that's even more reason to run it. Good thing Stratos was limited to 1, or else your next Regionals would seem more like a season of Yu-Gi-Oh GX than an actual tournament.

Next time you go to a store that carries Shonen Jump magazine, expect to see even more issues than usual where someone's ripped out the promo.

5/5 for the E-Hero deck.

EHero Ocean :
Dear god. An EHero I like!

Card advantage on a stick. What more could you want?
1500 ATK is reasonable enough to stay alive with and is Sanganable (and Mother Grizzly with you really want to). All you need are ways to keep him alive until your Standby Phase. These include Special Summoning him in your opponent's End Phase, Mirror Force, and hypnotising your opponent.

Advanced: 4/5

Share and enjoy,

Elemental Hero  Ocean -

3.7/5

This card is a nice addition to the E-Hero family.  Reachable via ROTA, Mother Grizzly, Sangan, E-Emergency Call, etc.  But the fact it requires Skyscraper-2 to be truly efficient hinders ts usability.  I know a lot of people who used this in DDT and said the card is too slow.  If the effect happened upon summon and then as stated on the text for the rest of the time it was out it'd be perfect.  But waiting for an opponent to kill something and potentially it makes you cry.

Run this card only with Skyscraper-2.  If you don't I ask you why.  For without that card this card simply becomes a 2/5.

PS

I recently pulled a my fourth Infernal Dragon from a pack of cards.  If anyone has a deck centered around this guy in an abusive manner, please send me an email!

Today we look at a new e-hero on the block….

E-hero Ocean
Warrior/Effect
Level 4
ATK/1500 DEF/1200
Once per turn, during your Standby Phase you can return 1 "Elemental Hero" or "Destiny Hero" monster from your side of the field or your Graveyard to it's owners hand.

So, a warrior with 1500 attack and 1200 defense. So, it’s certainly searchable. Not bad.

Its effect is pretty simple. Get an e-hero or d-hero back in your hand. I can see this getting play in a ddt deck, possibly. Return that D-hero Diamond Dude, or E-hero stratos to your hand so that you can use their effects again. It would be better if it didn’t have to survive til your next standby phase though.

In short, if you are playing an e-hero deck or ddt deck and you can keep this guy protected for a turn, it could be good. Otherwise, it should be apparent to not run this guy,

So following on the heels of Stratos, we look at Ocean. Another solid piece of e-hero support that actually lets you gain resources. Something that has been rare since they were first introduced.

His stats are mediocre, but stable enough to survive. His effect is his main strength. Ignoring the first part, which will have its benefits, the second portion is what counts. Getting something out of the grave is extremely useful. Especially for free.

Today we look at Elemental Hero Ocean, another E-Hero monster I'm not really all that fond of.

E-Hero Ocean has 1500 attack and 1200 defense points. He also has the ability to add a monster that is an E-Hero OR a D-Hero from your side of the Field OR your Graveyard back to your Hand. That's a mixed boat right there.

Generally, returning something of your own back to your Hand isn't good. I rarely see a reason how it is a good thing to detract from your own Field presence. Maybe you could save a monster of yours from being destroyed, but then maybe you will receive a direct attack instead?

The return from the Graveyard effect isn't half bad though. Maybe you actually lost something decent, that you would like to use again.
Probably not, however. Just one more card I don't have to worry about getting.

1.5/5 all around

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)
Turkeyspit Elemental Hero Ocean

A new addition to the TCG Metagame, Ocean brings a whole new level to non-Fusion Elemental Hero monsters.

In case you didn't know, the E-Hero Fusion Monsters are some of the best in the game, being outclassed only by Cyber-Twin Dragon, Cyber-End Dragon, Five-Headed Dragon, and Gatling Dragon. Basically, Dragons > Elemental Heroes ^_^

The sad reality though, is that Fusions are just too difficult to summon, and too easily dispensed with in the current Metagame. The weakness of the Elemental Hero sub-type has always been that their non-Fusion monsters were usually vanilla weaklings, with Wildheart being the exception. Now that Elemental Hero Stratos and Ocean are here, the game has changed.

Ocean needs protection, but the reward for defending him is the potential to recycle power monsters like Wildheart and Stratos, turn after turn. Combined with Skyscraper 2, Ocean can turn your Graveyard into a Warrior Toolbox of it's very own. The E-Hero Ocean deck has seen some success in local Regionals, but has yet to really break through the SJC Top 8 threshold. The day may not be far though, when a full blown Elemental Hero deck will see play at the top tables, alongside their Destiny Hero counterparts.

------------------------------

Traditional:
1/5 - Water water everywhere, but not a Chaos Monster to summon.

Advanced:
4/5 - In a deck built to capitalize on his effect, Ocean can be a powerful force to contend with.

Card Art:
3/5 - "Just when you thought it was safe to diss Elemental Heroes again..."
