Thursday:
Cyber Esper
The effect isn't worth the stats, plain and simple.
I see a few combos for it, but nothing I'd base an
entire deck on. You've got potential with D. D.
Designator and Mind Crush, but attaching that to a
monster that won't be on the field for very long
won't let you see many draws. It has the standard
"under 1500 ATK, searchable through lots of
different things" going for it, but otherwise it's
really not going to be much help compared to the
other monsters that could take that deck slot.
1.5/5, and that's being generous. |

Today it will be short and sweet folks, we have a
decent card with subpar stats...well a subpar attack
with a decent effect. Not a whole lot to say about
cards like that, is there.
Cyber Esper is a Level 4 Fire monster, Fire is good.
1200 attack and 1800 defense, and that's where the
real problem is. 1800 defense is enough to hold its
own, for a little bit anyway, but 1200 attack is not
good for a four star monster.
The effect is good, I'm always a fan of seeing what
my opponent Draws, aren't you? The problem being
Cyber Esper only gets that effect if it stays on the
field in attack mode. You could build a decent Fire
deck around Cyber Esper, but you would constantly
need to be protecting him...
I just don't think it's worth it.

Today we look at a rather unnoticed card from Cyber
Dark Impact….
Cyber Esper
Machine-Fire
Level 4
1200 atk 1800 def
While this card is in face-up Attack Position, you
can look at every card your opponent draws.
A 1200 attack, level 4, fire, machine monster. So,
it’s searchable. But its effect isn’t all that
great. If this card is in ATTACK, you get to see
what your opponent draws. Not their hand, just what
they draw. And the fact that the effect only works
while it’s in attack mode doesn’t help it either.
Konami and UDE seem to like giving effects that
require a monster to be in one position when it’s
more preferable for them to be in the other.
I suppose if you played a deck with Mind on Air, D.D.
Designator, Mind Crush, and the like, then maybe
this would come in handy, but otherwise I wouldn’t
suggest it. The effect needs a lil more kick to be
worth it.
Again, sorry for the short review, but I don’t know
what else to say about this card.

Cyber Esper
Does anyone know what this card looks like? Does
anyone know if this is a real card? This is what we
know as a foil filler. The ability to see an
opponents hand is nice, but 1200 attack points and
40 card deck limitations means Cyber Phoenix and
Card Trooper will give us more bang for our buck.
Not to mention Mind Crush was limited (just to make
gadgets and Demise even better). Thus we really get
no advantage from knowing what is in our opponents
hand. Don Zaloog is a 1400 that removes a threat.

Cyber Esper
Zane made this card appear to be way cooler then it
actually is.
Knowing the contents of your opponent's hand is good
- but not great. (How many copies of Eye of Truth
have you seen in play?)
Knowing what card your opponent draws each and every
turn is also good - but not great.
I can see this Monster being comboed nicely with
Mind Crush (wait, Restricted to 1) D.D. Designator,
and perhaps Drop Off. Other then that, it's hardly a
good choice, even for a Machine deck.
The fact that it's at least searchable via UFO
Turtle (another Machine-type monster) means that
Esper doesn't completely suck, and could be teched
into a Chimerasack / Machine deck - but it won't be.
-------------------------------------
Traditional:
1/5 - Fire? You seeing a pattern here?
Advanced:
1/5 - Someone, someday, will make a Metabreaking
deck revolving around this card. Until then,
nevermind.

Where’s my magicite??? Sorry, had to. So today we
look at contradiction in a can, er, I mean Cyber
Esper. Cyber Esper is definitely an interesting
support option, and will most likely only ever be
used as a tech. Being able to see, for free, what
the opponent draws is very nice, makes me miss
triple mind crush some more…. Oh well, regardless of
that is can be used to get an edge in a different
form than the standard card advantage.
One main issue is the stats, 1200 is weak, although
synergy with UFO turtle is nice. Regardless that
still makes it hard to maintain on the field.
Although the def is decent it is essentially useless
considering in order to get any benefit out of her
you need it in attack position.
Overall an interesting card; with a mixture of ups
and downs. Essentially it’ll most likely see play as
a tech, definitely not a mainstream
