Dark Paladin
Today we look at D.D. Crow, and here are the rulings from UDE about the little bird.

This is a Multi-Trigger Effect.
Discarding “D.D. Crow” to activate its effect is a cost.
You cannot activate this effect during the Damage Step.

So, you can use the effect of D.D. Crow during your opponent's turn, which is awesome, and remove one card from their Graveyard. Although you may not use the effect during the Damage Step, you can use it during the Battle Phase.

What can that stop? Well, you could remove something Dark so you could stop your opponent from removing a Strike Ninja perhaps. More often than not, this will simply be used for the removal, as opposed to stopping something.

Removal is good, and you don't even have to remove the crow to remove something else...

Ratings:

2.75/5 all around, may go up or down with time.

Art: 4/5

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

Ryoga
D.D. Crow :
The different dimension is an interesting place. Full of massive worm-things, women, and crows.

Unlike a number of cards with D.D. in the name, this is rather bad. The monster isn't worth summoning, and the effect isn't too useful. OK, you can use it in response to Call, etc. and basically negate the card.
However, not that many things generally seen in decks can be stopped in this way, so it isn't worth the bother.

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 1.5/5

Share and enjoy,
Ryoga

Tebezu
D.D. Crow

I assume this is good for the side deck, but the new cc (DDT) will make it pointless. Frog is not the only way to tribute for a monarch. Premature burial can be used only once and is at one per deck. Phoenix and Zombie is not going to be able to cut it this format. This card is good in theory but offers no true application.

2/5

DeathJester

D.D. Crow

He’s one of the best Side-Deck cards in the game. This card is a testament to my affirmation that Strike of Neos is truly the “Side-Deck” set of this game.

The big plus is that his effect is a Multi-Trigger and can be used to stop most Graveyard effects before they occur. Another plus is that his effect applies to any card instead of being limited to just Monsters.

Last Word: It’s not seeing as much play as I thought it would, but I think that depends on the metagame of our area or the event for that matter. It’s good against Treeborn Frog, Vampire Lord, and Sacred Phoenix. However, it helps Diamond Dude Turbo and Bazoo-Return by removing critical monsters from the Graveyard.

I’m starting a newsletter mailing list this weekend. Those of you interested in joining should stop by my blog at: www.thebestyugiohblog.blogspot.com during the weekend and I will be moving my site to a different hosting server. Also, sorry about not posting yesterday; you guys will have a post today, as I promised yesterday. Thank you for your patience!

Turkeyspit D.D. Crow

Strike of Neos has to be one of the best Booster sets since Invasion of Chaos. I can't remember seeing a single set that had so many playable cards.

D.D. Crow is somewhat of an oddity, as it's a -1 that people will actually play, as it can heavily disrupt your opponent's strategy (and with the right usage, becomes a 1-for-1).

Right now D.D. Crow is one of the few side-deck cards we have that can counter many of the top cards/decktypes seeing play today, which makes it a valuable tool when you don't have alot of empty slots in your side-deck.

Crow is good to counter:

- Diamond Dude Turbo: remove that Phoenix Blade, Dasher, or the Spell Card they flipped over with Diamond Dude to prevent them from using it.
- Six Samurai: specifically Grandmaster of the Six Samurai.
- Sacred Phoenix: 'nuff said.
- Treeborn Frog: 'nuff said x2.
- Pot of Avarice: oooohh...evilness in a can.
- Premature Burial / Call of the Haunted: seeing play everywhere.
- Reasoning / Monster Gates: if you are tired of seeing your opponent using The Creator to special Sacred Crane or DMoC, then this card is for you!

The list goes on...

If you are trying to figure out what to add to your sidedeck to counter Monarchs, Samurai and DDT, then this card is worth a serious look.

----------------------------------------------

Traditional:
2/5 - It's DARK, and it could be used to counter Monster Reborn or remove the single LIGHT/DARK in your opponent's grave from play. Still, I doubt it will see heavy play.

Advanced:
4/5 - A great sideboard option in a diverse Metagame.

Card Art:
3/5 - Bobo the Owl returns from Olympus with a new look!*

Lonely Wolf

Today we look at one of the more notable rares out of the new set, next to Grand Mole…

D.D. Crow
Dark/Winged-Beast/1/100/100
By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, remove from play 1 card from your opponent's Graveyard. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.

We are going to ignore the stats. It’s searchable by Sangan since it has 100 attack, but other than that, it doesn’t matter.

Its effect is a multi-trigger so it can be used at any point during either player’s turn, except the damage step, and can put a monkey wrench in quite a few decks. This card doesn’t directly help you gain any advantage, but it is likely to mess up your opponent’s momentum. You can chain to a Premature Burial or Call of the Haunted by discarding Crow, and remove the targeted monster from the game before it can be revived. This can be used against Pot of Avarice, removing one of the five targets, so that Pot can’t resolve. Or, possibly best of all, is removing that troublesome Treeborn, putting a halt in a Monarch player’s plan. And the number of other cards that this card can mess up is huge.

I don’t know if I’d consider maining this card personally, but it is certainly worth a shot in a side deck.

Traditional: 4/5 (Dark, Chaos Food, stops Reborn, Sinister, Call, Premature)
Advanced: 4/5

BobDoily D.D. Crow

*shudders. Sorry, bad memories are brought up by the name Crow. Another fun DD card, this crow seems a little too specific in role to see widespread play. More likely a side deck card IMO, but being able to counter any form of recursion is definitely nice. They also did a solid job of not giving it a stupid cost; you only have to discard this crow, which is useless otherwise.

Another card that has a job and does it right. It’s nice to see that.

Traditional: 3.5/5 A nice counter to a lot (cough*mill*cough) (cough*prohibition crow*cough)
Advanced: 3/5
