Closing the week, we come to Dark World
Dealings...which seems incredibly simple...each
player draws one card, then each player discards one
card.
Obviously, there is no real use for this outside of
a Dark World deck.
You can draw, discard a Dark World monster, and
Special Summon it. You probably aren't too worried
about your opponent drawing that one card.
As you all ready know, you seldom want to play
something where your opponent gets to draw, but
perhaps they had no hand, so whatever they draw
instantly is discarded. That makes this a 2 for 2
for you and a
-1 for your opponent, not too shabby.
Ratings:
4/5 Dark World
2/5 elsewhere, as it does let you draw
Art: 5/5 Neat
You stay classy, Planet Earth :) |

Dark World Dealings :
Dark artwork, that is.
An interesting effect that is about the same as
Dragged Down to the Grave. A -1 unless playing Dark
World, and a card milling decks would have loved. In
essence, Dark World likes, no one else does.

Dark World Dealings

not as broken as graceful, but a consistent way to
play the dark world deck as well as a nice card for
exodia to mess with. |

Dark World Dealings
Graceful Charity this isn't, but it will have to do.
I find it rather sad that now that Dark World gets 3
new monsters to their lineup, that they also lose
their best combo card. Dark World Dealings isn't as
good, but then you also get to run 3 of them.
The only problem with DWD is that you could be
helping out your opponent. Imagine activating DWD
and watching your opponent, who is running a
12-Gauge Monarch deck, turf their Treeborn to the
graveyard. Or how about your opponent discarding
that 5th monster they needed for Pot of Avarice.
Worse yet, watching them discard a Destiny Hero
Dasher or Malicious!
The upside though is that now you have a means of
discarding any of your DW monsters to the gravyard.
It's still a -1, but unlike Cheerful Coffin, you
increase your options by adding 1 card to your hand,
thereby allowing you to discard useless or dead
cards to the graveyard.
Dark World decks play this card in triples, but I
can also see this card working in other decks:
- Exodia
- Destiny Heroes
- Any combo heavy deck
----------------------------------------
Traditional:
3/5 - I doubt people will use it, but they still get
to use Sinister Serpent, which makes DWD a 1-for-1.
Advanced:
4/5 - in a Dark World deck. I'd give it a 3/5 for
combo decks that want to add to their 3x Upstart
Goblins.
Card Art:
3/5 - "Congratulations to Reign-Beaux Shonen Jump
Dark World Champion!" |

Today we look at a pretty simple card….
DARK WORLD DEALINGS
[Spell Card]
Each player draws 1 card. Then each player discards
1 card.
The effect is very easy to understand. Another piece
of ammunition for Dark World. You and your opponent
draw a card, then discard a card of your choice. The
opponent is usually going to break even on this,
unless they discard Treeborn (or their own Dark
World monster, which would be VERY VERY bad for
you). The controller of this card, however, is going
to get a –1 unless they have a Dark World monster to
discard. This card does have a minor upside because
you get to draw first, giving you one more chance to
draw a Dark World monster in case you didn’t have
one before activating Dealing. It’s like a
miniature, reversed, Card Destruction, and it’s much
better than Dragged Down to the Grave for Dark
World’s purposes.
If you are running Dark World, go ahead, try some of
these out if you like. If you aren’t running Dark
World, stay far far away.
Note: These rating are for Dark World only, Dealing
gets 1/5 in any other deck

Dark World Dealings
More support for Dark World, and they can use it
with the loss of Graceful Charity. Essentially a
better version of Dragged Down to the Grave, you
lose the bonus of controlling what you have the
opponent loses. But you gain the fact that you
control what you discard and don’t reveal your hand.
Not having to set s/ts is nice. Overall a nice grind
support for Dark World. I’d only not run it if I
didn’t have room.

Dark World Dealings
I’m kind of disappointed that Dark
World didn’t take off with the new cards it received
from Strike of Neos. In testing, the deck checks out
just fine. Fast, disruptive, and just as quick as
the rest of the decks.
Anyways, back to Dark World Dealings…
This card is pretty good. It’s not
nearly as speedy or devastating as Graceful Charity,
but you can do some damage with this card. Gren and
Khakki are good cards and they have tested well with
Dark World Dealings.
Of course you can use Goldd and
Sillva too. ^_^
It’s a compact way of cycling cards
in your Dark World deck. The only problem I’ve run
into so far as re-using Spells. That is so critical
to the speediness of the deck. I don’t think Magical
Stone Excavation’s activation cost is cheap enough
not to destroy the tempo of the deck.
Last Word:
Dark World has some serious
potential, but it suffers from speed issues (in my
opinion). Dark World decks do have that explosive
potential, but are they able to sustain themselves
like Diamond Dude Turbo can? I need to come up with
a better build. Anybody have any ideas?
